The author of the book was greatly disappointed by it. I tend to like the book better, but looking at them both separately the movie was still great. Michael Mann seldom disappoints.
Thundering electro bass line, which shifts a half-tone when you don' expect it. Second favourite piece from this film, after 'Gloria' as Dr. Cuza carries the symbol out of the Keep.
Finally, the Actual main titles recording rather than "Dinu Pass" which I believe was actually a live recording passed off as the opening titles over the Internet. I have been waiting for this to be released for 33 years now ever since I first saw the film in 83.

Mhm, interesting, perhaps that's why I love the music from Diablo so much. I bought it via GOG some time ago, maybe it's a good time for some monster bashing. It was the first game online I played in my life (December 1997). So many good memories.
Pretty close. 'Goblin' did Italian film scores about this time, and this piece, variously described as 'Stormbringer', Powerhouse' or 'Dinu Pass', may be the best that came from that time of what was sometimes called ;'foreground' music, as it took centre stage over the actors.
Michael Mann needs to remaster this for bluray man. I know he hates it but surely he'd want people to see a good version and not that horrendous bad laser disc copy for perpetuity.

It is still good but the studio, director sucked. Effect manager died too. A wasted masterpiece

The Keep is one among many movies that simply was not made for the large mass.

The voices are too loud and it's a bad thing. They destroying the theme as they howl down the creepy pipe organs.
This'd be much, much better without those annoying whispers in the background. The track is enough hauting without them.
