From apprehension to oh yes in turn of the key and one press of the throttle. I did the same thing when I had a 6000 Prostreet put on my truck. Calm and throaty on the highway but a big middle finger when you need it.
Tailpipe diameter does effect sound quite a bit, especially if there's a large tip like Magnaflow uses. Magnaflow does have the nicest fitting out of the box cat back that I've ever installed fwiw. Anywho's, I've run 2 sets of Spintech mufflers, the sound is unique and I definitely dig them, my car sounds absolutely evil with them. I will say this though, if you want to add a nice touch to the Spintech sound change out the H pipe for an X. It really cleans up The high rpm sound and gives like this evil high pitched shriek!!
That's awesome! If it's the high RPM V8 scream that you get with a high revving 289, I might have to try that out (with the x-pipe). I actually have some other mufflers I want to experiment with too, so I think I'll be clamping things together this time rather than welding it.

Holy fuck that car sounds incredible!! I have a Flowmaster 40 muffler on right now with cats. I’m looking to grt spin tech mufflers. Best sound I’ve heard now on these cars. I can’t decide whether I should go with a H or X pipe?
I actually purchased the car ($1,400) from a guy that had already built the engine. Shortly after that he had a catastrophic engine failure (sheared the woodruff key on the crankshaft). That resulted in a damaged camshaft, a ruined crankshaft a cracked head, all bent valves. The list goes on. Anyway, I bought the car from him in pieces. He carted the car around with him over the next decade hoping to rebuild it at some point. His son attempted to eventually but just succeeded in taking it down to baggies full of nuts and bolt and gave up. It sat that way for several years. I had to tear the engine down the rest of the way and had the block checked out to make sure it was still okay. I was able to save the cam and crank by having them welded and machined to spec. I replaced the bearings, rings, oil pump, timing set, one head, all the valve train etc. The rods and pistons were still good. Sorry for the lengthy response, but to answer your question, I did not buy the kit. I salvaged what I could from what someone else did. I know there are several options available out there, though.
@@spoticus3000 The car has about 104k miles on it. I did a full rebuild on the engine. It's a teksid aluminum block with a stroked and forged bottom end. I also run 4.10 gears and have it sitting on raceland coilovers and a complete MMR front end. I'm glad to stopped to check it out!
lol thats why Ive had people ask me what muffler I'm running because they're confused and are like those aren't Flowmasters and those are Magnaflows so what are they? Mission accomplished. Carven, Blackwidow and others sound too metallic and are better for the higher rpm range. Every new 5.0 mustang I've heard sounds metallic and hollow. Whereas the owner and creator of Spintech made exhaust for dirt track oval and NASCAR if I remember correctly. "feel the thunder" as a tagline.
1:19 flowmaster
5:31 spintech

Excellent! That's a great sounding engine.
Really makes those cams more pronounced. Love it
Best muffler for a 2v hands down. Doing a pro chamber on mine. Have had my 9000s on for 3 years now.
They don't sound that good in the revs but, when driving they sound completely different. You can actually control the rasp based on throttle input.
I agree! They sound great and they are surprisingly mild while driving and just cruising.
I love the sound of the spintech 9000's and about to install on my Lightning later this year!
I bet they'll sounds sick on your lightning!
