I'd rate this a solid doot/10. That bassist is working overtime, good stuff to them.
In the same show, the song Prime Time Blues, he hits about the lowest notes I've ever heard from a bass singer. Worth checking out. It's a good song too!
The upright bass scatting was really impressive!
I had to devote a couple listens purely for the bassist after noticing their accuracy at speed. As a bass myself I can but practice to achieve a dream !
If you told me this was a quartet and an upright bass I wouldn't think twice.
The effortlessness in this video is crazy. This was a song that my high school group sang and we had to cut out a large chunk of the difficult middle, and it was still probably the most difficult arrangement I’ve had to learn to this day. The way that they can sing it so relaxed is so impressive
Lots of practice id imagine as they're doing it professionally in this setting
Yup, we also sang this in high school. It's such a ridiculously difficult chart and The Real Group makes it seem like it's no big deal. What an iconic vocal jazz group
That's real sploinky shoobadeebop ba doo daing. Proper twizzly.
This is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever read in my life
Some real fonky chonky. Some of that good scrimblo brimblo. Absolute zippity rippity skippity doo dippity yeah.
They also sing Splanky. music.ruclips.net/video/KIb22ncPrGE/видео.html
Shklurbee-doo??! the bloop'd blebbings.
It's hard to hear what she's saying when everybody is talking over her - this debate won't end well
Did it in high school. The transcription really close to the score. Great job, especially with Anders Edenroth part. That's not a normal tenor part and you crushed it
Do you know the name of this arrangement?
@@titaniclime5382 If you search for "It don't mean a thing" and "The real group" you'll find it. It's by Anders Edenroth
As always, the bass is towing the whole wagon with his two extremely long and thick vocal cords
That middle section was so tight. For real, it was kind of crazy tight. Incredibly impressive.
One of these years, in my retirement (which is coming soon), I look forward to studying the awesome voicings that you have transcribed. Memories... Thanks.
We did this arrangement in my jazz choir back in 1999-2000. I miss those days and wish that I'd had a chance to pursue music.
I love The Real Group!
Yes, they're great, but... They're not the same since Katarina Henryson and Anders Jalkéus (the Alto and Bass in this performance) left the group.
So nice to see The Real Group pop up here! They are great!
Ah, so glad you took on TRG! My only claim to fame in life is that the bassist (Anders) was my music teacher for a while. Anyway, fun arrangements to sing and listen to.
That bass slide tho
Real Group sings so unbelievably tightly. It's difficult to appreciate their accuracy and precision unless you've tried to perform one of their charts before
Please don't change the title. It's perfect. This is all just so perfect.
This is the music we should supply the aliens when meet them. Our vocals are our most human instrument
Wow, that's great. They sound a lot like Manhattan Transfer back in the day.
my last three braincells on the test
This gives The Manhattan Transfer vibes like no other!
Simply fantastic
Remember that music is nothing without the space between the notes. It shows here. Just really clean syncopation.
my favourite song of theirs is Words, please transcribe it as well!
Goosebumps from the first second.
I'm thrilled that you've transcribed something from The Real Group! I probably asked for it at one point, so thanks George :) This is quite an old video of theirs with the original lineup.
In the same show they sing the song Prime Time Blues, I'd love to see the bass transcription particularly... you'll know which bit when you listen to it, haha!
BTW, since a few people are sharing stories about The Real Group, I met them in around 2016/2017 when they came to Melbourne (the first time they did any shows in the Southern Hemisphere). They were great to talk to and it was wonderful to finally meet them, even though Anders Edenroth was the only founding member still singing with them. In 2018 I used one of Anders' songs at my wedding.
The real group ❤❤ awesome singers !
this. is a work of art.
that’s insane
Absolutely epic!
Breathing isn't a human requirement anyways
i zoned out and back in and they were still shoobodabodabediiyaing.. thats talent
Fabuleux👏👏👏
Love the real group!
these folks could crush as a mixed barbershop quartet
Can I ask you how did you learn to transcript like this? I would love to learn
Per the description, George didn't do this one
@@james_subositsOh, I didn't read the description. Thank you! I still wonder how people develop this ability. I try to do it every day, but it's difficult. I'll keep studying.
@@azanseqi wish you could do that one day !
Start with the bass and the melody then add in other parts one at a time as best you can. Could be some guessing. This one is a standard chart so you could find the regular sheet music online as a starter and then build the arrangement off that. It is also critical to have solid knowledge of music theory so you know what kind of chord changes and leading/passing tones are expected. Practice makes perfect.
@@azanseqhey, this one would have been massively time consuming, complex and expensive, but really all it takes is a willingness to sit down and put in the hours, and experience.
I’d definitely start with smaller projects and more instrumentation before doing something with multiple voices as they are notoriously the most difficult to transcribed.
These guys were a favourite of mine as a kid. I remember why now.
They were correct, no swing found.
This is awesome
DAMN!!!!!!! 🙌🏽🤩🙌🏽
Love the real group I got to sing for them one of their own songs amd they did a vocal coaching on it.
When there's coleslaw at the junction
This really yoinkys my sploinky

Strong The Sims vibe here
This tickles my ears
Gidagadegadagadao eat your heart out
i love the rieal group!

When anesthesia hits harder than you expected
I transcribed this is college. Love it.
The real group is friggin wild. A live performance of them is worth it
this feels like an msm island song…
Spider-Man, Spider-Man
Does whatever a spider can
Spins a web, any size
Catches thieves just like flies
Look out
Here comes the Spider-Man
Steve Smith finally has some competition
The most accurate video title doesnt exi-----😮
This would go so hard as a sax soli
❤
very accurate title
Sang this in high school and I can attest it is even harder than it sounds
this sounds like sims music if it was real english
If this was fun for you, I'd advise you to check out M-Pact's "My Funny Valentine". The vocal jazz isn't this fast, but it's just as clean and arguably tighter.
Duwa duwa duwa duwa duwa duwa duwa!
basically me whenever i shower forreal
Did I hear Giant steps in there?
Ayyy Swedish rep!! I grew up listening to this!
I never thought I'd say that but there is such a thing as too much scatting :D
This sounds like it could be a Cuphead boss theme
0:43 nice bird lick
Me reading the titel.
My head: shoobedoo da doobedobedo da PERRY!
👍
Thought of Scatman for a second from the title.
Hey, can you do Will Wood's live Blackboxwarrior (the one in the backyard)? There's a moment where his key is broken and he kicks his keyboard, I would love to see your take on him
He's also an extremely talented piano player and singer
A Capella jazz?
man 0:30 gotta be memorable
dipsters?
Funny thing is that my school is actually performing this song
We love barbershop content from George Collier!!
This is not barbershop
Not barbershop
It dont mean a thing! ❤
Yo y’all ever think this is how English sounds to foreigners
👍 👍 👍 👍 Subscribed! New friend ❤️ ✨️
Doodabeebop should be the actual name for scat music. Its a way better word than scat
What does the 8 below the treble cleff mean?
The note sounds an octave lower than written.
It sould be played/sung an octave lower than it is written.
Awesome, thanks!
I'm getting Mario level vibes

Alright, that's it, what's this style called?
acappella / vocal jazz
@@aquaajb noo, c'mon, the fairly odd parents thing. I just don't know i it's got a genre of it's own and I NEED it
what they’re doing- the boo bee dee doop stuff- is called scatting
@@syrahstahl822 I know, but I'm refering to the sudden "jums" in pitch they do. Thanks regardless
@@syrahstahl822doesn't scatting typically mean improvised? they demonstrate the syllabological aspect of scatting here but this is clearly an arranged piece
this sounds like cuphead
The music of today's -̵y̵o̵u̵t̵h̵-̵> seniors is so idiotic
This is the whitest jazz I've ever heard.
This might be the whitest jazz video 😂
Lots of missing notes in this melody transcription. Using AI, or...?
I love The Real Group!
