- Installing a new lift on the Ford Ranger and getting it ready to offroad the outdoors!
Bilstein 4600 shocks: amzn.to/3ysS6GY

You can buy torsion bar keyway for a 1 1/2 lift in the front and your torsion bar won't be cranked up tight. It changes the handling of the truck and makes the front less jumpy.
The problem with aftermarket keys is they let you overcrank the t bars. The ride will still be bumpy. The new shocks actually helped and now that they settled in the ride is quite comfortable even with the 2 inch lift :)
He’s right about the history taught in school.
Love the front bumper.
I wanna go the full Monty on the lift, the full 2”.
New heavy duty springs, U bolts and I got a 2” block but seeing yours is good here. 2011 here XLT as well.
Cool truck man.
Appreciate the love! And that sounds like it would be an awesome build!
Man, living in the Northeast I would kill for a clean, rust-free frame and suspension like that! Nice work, subbed, looking forward to future Ranger vids. Is that an '04?
Appreciate it man! Just gotta be patient and look around haha yessir its an 04
@@theebckyrd I have a relatively clean '03 FX4 Level II with manual transmission and transfer case. Needs timing chains/cassettes, and pretty clean, but not as clean as yours!
@@PhillyFixed sheeeesh! Got yourself a rare one man! I was looking for the longest for a level ii manual but just ended up settling with this one lol
fly out here, buy mine and drive it home, i bought mine brand new in 2000. : ) just turned 100k miles on it, and always is in a heated garage at night : )
@@squirrelmaster1225 still got it? 👀
I got the superlift and I’m very satisfied. Just make sure you are long term committed to your truck. It’s definitely worth it having everything at proper angles and not cranked up.
Agree 100% that its a great ride, just not sure im ready to make that financial commitment with this truck. So far the crank lift has been fairly smooth and with the alignment all the angles aren’t too far out of wack.
@@theebckyrd Dual wishbone suspension doesn't need much adjustment , it's not like I beams or McPherson struts that have massive camber changes as the suspension cycles . Fun fact , the front suspension on a Ford Ranger is better than the front suspension on a BMW .
Did you get the 4in lift? I have a 2001 ford ranger and I’ve been looking at the superlift to get my cv axles dropped back down to the correct angle
your dog is like " BRO,BRO LETMEOUTBRO,COMON BRO YOU FORGET ABOUT ME!!"
LMAO yeah she totally was not having it 😂
Love the new wheels!
And I agree with Eevee, you need a sponsorship
Thank you! Haha just waiting on it lol
How do you like the ride?
Definitely a bit stiff but not too bad, cranking keys will always roughen up any ride though
@@theebckyrd good to know! Thanks! Would you recommend this set up for someone who dailies their Ranger with the occasional snow trip/rocky fire road drive?
@@theebckyrd also any regearing or weird stuff with the 32s or would you recommend them?
@@jp-go7hg No problem! Yeah absolutely, shouldnt have any issues as a daily. Nope no need to regear, I would only do a regear if you are going higher than 33s, thats when you will definitely see the truck start to slow down and struggle to accelerate
How did you get the bottom boat off of your shackle?
Breaker bar and ratchet/wrench. Remove top bolt first to drop the shackle and leaf spring so that you have clearance to remove bottom bolt.
Homboi is rigth about that western education 😂👊🏽👊🏽💯💯
Lmao spittin facts!
palabra 🤣
Be nice if Ford Ranger videos were more year specific. There are three different suspensions on 2nd gen Rangers.
Be nice if you just asked 🤷🏽♂️
What year is the truck, and what size tire did you get under it after the lift?
Truck is a 2004 and tires are a size 32
Cool
Middle of the axle to the brush guard
Not sure what you are referring to here 🧐
The truck looks great! What kind of front bumper is on the truck?
Appreciate it! Its an ebay knockoff version of the affordable offroad bumper lol
What size tires did you have before?
I had stock tires before which I believe were a 245/75/16
Hey bud whats the offset on your wheels i read some comments n saw they where 15x10 but whats the offset? I like the stance want somthing similiar for my 2010 sport. Thanks.
Offset is -44
Awesome thank you 👍
I have a 2003 2 wheel drive Ranger Edge , it has the same suspension . If you want to smooth out the ride get rid of the front sway bar , as long as you don't drive like a jack ass on the freeway or something it doesn't really need one . My driver side link broke , and I didn't feel like fixing it , a year later and I have no plans to fix it .
Might just have to do that 🤔
How can you tell what length shocks to get I know my ranger is lifted but idk how much
The ones I bought were specifically for the ranger with a slight lift but typically just add the amount of lift to the original travel of the stock shocks
Did you have to do an alignment after making the changes?
Yessir definitely get an alignment any time you do a lift or touch any suspension components!
What kind of rims are these?
American Racing AR201
Do you have a link? Looking for same shocks
Got mine here: www.sdtrucksprings.com/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&inc_subcat=1&categories_id=1076&year_select=2004&make_select=622&model_select=8219&search_in_description=&sort=2d&fltBrand%5B%5D=61
Can you tell me what shocks those are?
Billstein 4600s
You measure from the axle to the top of the fender not from the ground
Got you. Much easier to measure from ground and still gives you a general idea of amount of lift
I love that grill. What brand/where did you get it?!
Are you referring to the steel bumper? Its an amazon knock off version of the affordable offroad bumper
Thanks for the quick response! I'm actually looking at the grill that looks like vampire fangs. The chrome and plastic piece above the off-road bumper. It looks aftermarket, never seen one like that. Did you install that?
@@theonereborn1337 oooooh gotcha lol Nah it came stock on the truck I think it probably was part of the FX4 package
What year is your ranger?
2004
@@theebckyrd thanks so much for the reply! Is this the edge? I like the shocks. My shocks are blown out and I wanna buy new ones that give me flexible yet stiff support that I need. Which shocks are these? I was gonna buy the Bilstein 4600 but says they only work on 2wd edge models…
@@olivergarcia2485 no problem I try to reply to everyone. Nah this one is an xlt with the FX4 offroad package. These are the Bilstein 4600s they make a version for 4wd models
@@theebckyrd thank you!
You should have Danny in your videos more often
Please place in suggestion box and ill consider it
link to the wheels??
They are the american racing ar201 wheels. Should be able to easily find with a google search. I believe I got mine from realtruck.com
@@theebckyrd thank you! 🙏
what size are the rims
Looks clean my boi , is it for sale or what? Lol
Appreciate it my guy! And nah she too cute to sell rn haha
damnnn 🥺🥺🥺😅
she ain’t cute , she fine G lol
HUI YEA
Where do you got your heavy duty bumper from?
Amazon. The install video should have the link.
@@theebckyrd Thanks, i just saw it but sadly it is unavailable and even if it was i cannot buy it as it is Amazon US and i'm from France, i have to find an another solution.. Anyway, thanks again for your answer :)
@@heinrichheidestein1013 checkout affordable offroad. They have the same style on their site. A bit more expensive but may be an option. Ebay sometimes has it as well.
What size tires you got on there?
32s x 11.5
@@theebckyrd the inside of the tire doesn’t interfere w any steering parts?
@@sanchezready9009 as long as you level out the front you should be good, although im not sure about the stock bumper, may need to slightly cut it since it hangs lower than my steel bumper
@@theebckyrd thanks bro👍
Did you use spacers to get that little bit of poke are is that from the off set of the wheels
