But that kind of neglects the point of buying a $1k tech just to cover it up. Companies spend lots of money and effort in development trying to perfect the finish on phones from how it feels to hold in your hands to how the screen will output content. Putting a case on it just disrespects the idea and everything that you own will eventually wear down so this case obsession I never really understood. Maybe financially, I get it, but it’s just contradictive to just slap a case on it when Apple took into consideration how the finish would feel in the hand. Also screen protectors could slightly modify the screen’s accuracy in colour or so, maybe not too big of a deal for people but def is for professionals

I use my iPhone 13 pro without case at home all the time, cause i love glass and stainless steel materials with perfect fit in my hand. When i go anywhere outdoors, i simply wear silicone case and iPhone still looks like new. When i put my iPhone on the surface indoors i simply put it on the screen protector as i can enjoy look of the iPhone ☺

Good to hear that the crash detection works - but glad you weren't hurt too badly. I have had my 14 PM for about 4 months now and I love it. Works like a trooper and there are no complaints at all from me. I was running the beta of iOS 17 and now the final version. I like standby mode and use it frequently. Had considered getting the 15 PM, but I changed my mind and got a Mujjo case for it instead. Quite disappointed to hear that Apple stopped making the leather cases, however the ones by Mujjo are better quality anyway I believe.

Haha, I finally ran out of luck with my iPhone 14 Pro last week. Slipped out of my pocket and crashed onto the concrete. My first Applecare+ claim! Unfortunately, it was not a good experience, as neither my local Best Buy or Apple Store had the back glass in stock. I had to do a full express replacement. Also, they apparently won't service an iPhone if it's running the beta, so that had to be dealt with also. Still... I'm a caseless girl most of the time.

I currently have the 12. One reason I didn’t consider any of the pro models is the extra weight of the stainless steel. Don’t really care of the material since I always put my phones in a case. Now with 15 Pro I’m liking that it’s titanium and lighter. 😊

It’s not the AOD display itself that takes up battery. It’s the widgets. The weather widget especially. I use AOD alone with no widgets, and it lasts me all day on my 14 Pro, with decent usage. Always on display is too nice for me to give up. Just remove the weather widget because that makes your phone constantly update your location for the weather. You will see instant differences. I noticed this because when I added the weather widget to my aod display a while back I immediately noticed the drop in battery and removed it quickly.

I bought my 14 Pro Max this January and within few weeks it started having heavy scratches around the charging port area. I love my phone's hardware but the software iOS 16 is buggy. The battery most of the time charges very slowly, sometimes stops charging showing a temperature warning, even when it the air conditioner is on and the phone is enough cool. I use my phones very heavily so iPhone is the only hardware I trust to go with. This time pricing in India is too much for 15 pro max, so don't think I will be upgrading this year at least.

I’ve had my pro max almost a year the 21st will be a year and I have 99% battery life and I’ve been loving using it and the dynamic island was really easy to get used to I like it for my timer when I take my lunch at work where I can watch RUclips and easily keep up with how much time I have left on break. I use a case by a company called Urban Armour Gear and it has 25 feet of drop protection and gas Kevlar woven into the case. Great video as always and looking forward to iOS 17 and watchOS 10 releasing on Monday. Question do you think they’ll update the design of the Apple Watch next year for the 10 series? They changed the design on the iPhone 10 and the iPad 10 last year so hopefully maybe the Watch will get a makeover too

I jumped to 14 pro 2 weeks ago because i lost my 12 and what can i say is that i dont feel any performance bump at all. Guess 2 years of tech improvement isnt selling enough to justify an upgrade for me (i dont do games or editing videos). Only noticeable upgrade is the 120 hz screen. Was rooting on the dynamic island but it didnt do much on my use case. It is significantly heavier tho.
Edit: forgot to mention that the main camera is insane compared to 12. Loved the bokeh and how it performs on low light.

Should I upgrade from the 14 Pro to the 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max? Currently, I have the iPhone 14 Pro Space Black 256GB which has scrolling stuttering, battery life is bad, it has lags in the Camera app and some games and overheating issues. Battery and Camera are the most important things for me and I used a 12PM before which was too big and heavy to use, but now there is the lighter Titanium material and the curved edges make it feel more comfortable to use. So therefore, should I still chose the 15 Pro Max over the 15 Pro this year? Also, is 256Gb enough? And, which color would you choose?

I used to be an obsessive screen protector guy, but whatever new glass Apple started using in the iPhone 12/13 era was finally perfect. I’ve had my 13 mini since launch day without a screen protector, I’ve dropped it, tossed it into bags carelessly, walk around with it in my pocket and fanny pack along with my keys, and there is not one single microabrasion on this screen. It’s flawless. I’m a 8 hours+ screen time a day kind of guy too, so having a flawless screen is something I care deeply about. Good timing. My friends were just making fun of me for never putting a case on my iPhones. I only get super thin hyrdogell style protectors. My experience has been tempered glass and cases cost more than they're worth and wear the PVD coating by collecting environmental grit. Tempered glass protectors shatter constantly. I work on my feet all day in construction sites and have had no problems without a case for years. Mine is in better condition than yours because I always set mine face down to protect the cameras. Just let a cheap screen protector take all the hits and you'll be fine. Once you try hyrdogell style protectors from any brand, you'll never go back to the old ways.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max has definitely been the best iPhone I’ve ever had. Yes battery life is terrible and my battery health should be in the 90 % area but it’s not. I don’t do betas or jailbreak or any of that but it’s very disappointing. Eventually I’ll have to have the battery replaced. I hope iOS 17 may possibly fix the issue. I charge my phone every night and I can definitely go all day and into the night before it gets low by any means. I personally see no reason to upgrade.

I have a 13 256GB Pro Max which was a good camera upgrade from the 11 256GB Pro Max whose antenna stopped working, otherwise I might still be using it. The 13 256GB Pro Max with 94% battery life performs flawlessly. Keeping the the battery usage in check is key to getting more battery time out of a heavy use day or light. My default is dark mode which is a massive battery drain saver, kill unnecessary background processes, screen brightness .etc. Giving me anywhere from 1 full day to 2+ days of unplugged usage. I’d buy the 15 256GB Pro Max for the camera porn. Otherwise as usual Apple’s hype comes up short, maybe next year. Maybe the so called “Ultra” will be a game changer. That being said I’m very well served by my current 13 Pro Max.

However, my 14 Pro will be the only Pro model I'll get as I dont use the cameras much and the features I got the 14 Pro for as now om the regular 15. I rarely used the AOD.

I have the 14plus and I'm very happy with my phone. I was looking for a big screen but the weight difference between the 14plus and the 14pro max was the reason why I got the 14plus. I didn't care about the extra camera or the dancing island or 120hz refresh rate. For me that rush that I felt when I had the 14plus in my hand. I mean and I still feel it to this day....to me it is so well balanced, it feels so nice in the hand. I love how long the battery lasts on the phone and the speakers the sound is incredible. In my experience with the 14plus this phone does not get hot. I believe is because of the chipset. I'm not a gamer and I'm not on beta version. I'm in the latest public release. I believe that the 5G connection on the apple phones is some times a little weak and that it has to do with the chips that apple makes, I'm not saying that it is bad but some times I get little reception while I get full reception with my S22 Ultra side by side and I'm convinced of this. Now that so many people complain about the 14pro max getting hot I got my suspicion that it is that the 16 chip runs hot. That the 5G reception being some times a little weak is something that no update can fix. But overall my experience with the 14plus has been fantastic!! I love my 14plus. I'm OK with the lighting cable. The battery is on 94 %. I got at release day. I really like this 14plus. I won't update, no need to. Might sound silly and redundant, I love my 14 plus and I enjoy watching Zollotech no one compares to him, his work is outstanding. Thank you Mr Zollotech for your dedication. Have a blessed day.😊

For the first time since switching to the first Plus/Max iPhone in 2014 iPhone 6 I decided to go back to the normal size Pro. Owning the iPhone 13 Pro Max for two years. I have enjoyed it but never got used to the heavy weight.. So even with iPhone 15 Pro lineup going all titanium. I decided to get something more pocketable and easier to use one handed… so Normal size iPhone 15 Pro + being lighter due to titanium is a bonus for me.. 😁😅

I use my phone up to 6 hours or 7 hours per day and haven't really seen horrible battery drainage. My battery health is still at 100% as well. The thing I don't really like about the 14 Pro Max is the excessive weight. I'll be selling it soon and likely getting the blue iPhone 15 regular model. Still have my 12 pro max and currently 14 pro max , the 12 was fully rugged up with screen protector and case and looks pristine , the 14 pro max had only the case , but the screen has held up well apart from one tiny Nick which i have no idea where it came from.
Battery life seems pretty comparable between the two.
I’d take a guess the 14 pro max is at a bit of a disadvantage in a couple of ways as far as the battery life goes , in that on the 14 models we have more ways to take juice out of the battery , for a start that lovely bright screen , also the always on display.
I dont know if the 14 series has more sensors than the previous models , like crash detection , but that might be thought too?
Anyway , i have been pretty happy with the 14 PM …..and its still got 100% health , so I’m not in that much of a hurry to run out and get the shiny new model though it looks pretty good.

My iPhone 14 ProMax battery life and health (still 100%) have been excellent. I agree that your use of the beta software has probably not been your battery's best friend. But let's not forget, the iPhone 13 Pro Max and 14 Pro Max have very different max screen brightness. I think this accounts for much of the difference in battery life some people are experiencing. DisplayMate found that the ‌iPhone 14 Pro‌ Max is able to hit a peak brightness of 2,300 nits, more than double the ‌iPhone 13‌ Pro Max's 1000 nit max brightness. (Apple advertises 2,000 nits peak brightness for the 14 ProMax, so the testing exceeded even Apple's guidelines.) The more you use your iPhone 14 ProMax in bright light environments, the bigger the hit on battery life compared to the 13 ProMax since it will spend more time with the screen at higher brightness levels.

I'm at 98% battery health (dropped from 100% after using 17 beta) but I only get maybe 4 hours of screen on time. Not sure why it's so bad, I've tried a fresh restore and will do another once official full release is available, to see if it helps. Same for the watch, was fine on watchOS 9 (charge every 1.5 days), but now it's dead in 18 hours (which is the official battery rating... sigh)
