I have the 14 pro max and have used it for cutaways and b cam shots for a year now. I've used it for everything, from bank commercials to hospitals and anything in-between. I absolutely love it and it has saved my butt on more than one occasion. But, ...this is what I've learned. You can only use the .5 or 1x lens and absolutely never use the sports mode or cinematic mood for anything. Sure, looking at it on the iPhone screen looks like a million bucks, but take my word for it, blow it up on a 27" i-mac screen while editing and you will see incredible amounts of garbage, gain and soft focus occur. The cinematic mode is almost comical how bad the faux depth of field looks. But as mentioned earlier stick with the .5 or 1x just using the auto stabilizer built into video mode and everything looks incredible, day and night difference. I look forward to getting the new 15 pro max for pro-res, which I'll ever never end up using.lol
I upgraded from the 14 pro max to the iPhone 15 pro max and it feels quicker, cell connectivity is better and if holding most of the day like me ,you do notice the weight is lighter especially with no case on it. Apple car play wireless seems more stable also. Everything else seems the same and I don’t really use the 5x zoom. Action button is cool but no big deal. Also the usbc charger is cool but again no big deal as I don’t upload large files. For me it was worth the update as I’m a heavy user and love tech . For a normal person probably not.

Also the 15 on daily usage is not that much more powerful (and still has LTPO 1-120hz). It has more brightness and the wireless not doesn't cap at 600mbps but goes to full wifi6 1200mbps but aside from that,i doubt anyone will notice that on daily usage, we know because we know the specs but today... The only noticeable difference will be on ios17 for background upload finally coming to IOS, but still he didn't noticed that... So yeah. 100% PLACEBO
not just the rounded edges actually makes it more vulnerable its also because the titanium is very hard and the glass is sensitive for the pressure, as well that they built the back of the phone differently the back glass has no metal against it as previous model did have for example.

Me myself decided to get 14 promax because its cheaper and solid phone for 4 years. I have 0 regrets since I wanted 15 pro but 14 pro max cost the same but with a bigger screen and top camera still. I was ready for the 15 pro but so much issue right now and when I held 15 promax I was sold on a bigger screen
I still have the 12 pro max and probably won’t upgrade to the 15 till the 16 comes out. My phone is still working perfectly. Battery still lasts me 2 days before I have to charge it. Only issue is the speaker is not as clear as it used to be to be, has crackling when turned up past 3/4. And I like my music but earbuds are usually in when im listening to music so really it’s not even a big deal to me.
Rhinoshields are THE TRUTH! I've used them for years. I dropped my Samsung down 15ft drop down a sewer in DC during Halloween. Was able to get the phone 5 days later and it still worked. I'm loyal for life for sure! Lol
Good point on the focal distance on the cameras. Got bothered by it after upgrading from the 12 Pro to the 14 Pro and was an added hassle when scanning barcodes like in MyFitnessPal. Was hoping they’d fix it or made it better on the 15 Pros but sadly they didn’t as what you showed here. Also appreciate how you showed the footage in ProRes log here. There is indeed a difference compared to shooting with the standard recording. Will still upgrade to the 15 Pro Max coming from the 14 Pro and will probably stay on it for a while till we receive better upgrades especially with the cameras. Maybe it’s in my head but I really feel like I can feel the difference in the width of the phone. It feels much better in the hand smaller and much lighter. I love my 15 Pro Max. I know there aren’t many differences this year but I just live how it feels 😍
Man i am in love with my iphone 14 pro max. I upgraded from the 13 pro max bc the 14 pro max got a brighter screen (2000nits) dynamic island which is actually pretty awesome, and louder speakers. I didnt recieve one single downgraded going from 13 pro max to 14 pro mac other than the 14 pro max havin a slighty worse battery. If i go to the iphone 15 pro max, I lose my mute switch? Hell no, not yet lol. I love apples iconic mute switch. Every video i have seen shows the iphone 15 pro max being way easier to break compared to 14 pro max. the screen didnt get better or brighter........and the new usbc port is apparently slow and outdated, ima stick with the 14 pro max. Honestly no point of upgrading this generation if you own a 14, 13 or even the 12 at this point unless you got extra cash laying around or desperate to have USBC or 5x zoom, since the 14, 13, and 12 are still great phones. I upgraded from the 11 which I felt could of lasted 1 more year at most, but didn't want to pay for a battery replacement.
Watched a lot of videos on this phone and the white balance tip was new! Solid. Apple is going harder on the pro features! Seems like we don't need a separate app now. Digging the lighter weight and usbc on this phone mostly

photography is about lens size and light. have you ever seen a big ass lens for example on sport ocassions in news? that cost 10 times of your iphone, and there is a reason. big lens, plenty of room for lights to come in. that is what photography about. not megapixel, and computer guessing whats the front of the camera. not to mention old manual gears before dslr. dude come on. phones can not make REAL pics. they can make a good guess what real pics are. but nothing more. buying any smartphone because of its camera "skills' still makes me laugh.

I think the gap between the 24mm lens and the 120mm equivalent lens on the Pro Max is ridiculous. We basically get massive digital cropping in between those lenses. No one even seems to know what happens at say 100mm. Does it crop the binned 48MP sensor 4x or does it crop the 12MP 120mm lens sensor by 20?
Bruh talking about 100mm This lens is not present and according to your question, it crops main camera to 4x . And if you want to use 120mm lens then you have to go 5x ,5.1x or so on. But it is advised to not zoom rather capture the photo and then crop
I’m just glad i didn’t trade my 14 pro max to the 15 pro max. They almost the same. I still prefered the lightning charging and the stainless steel frame. I just check the antutu of my 14 pro max this year and the score is 1.4million. The phone still very smooth and the battery is doing good.
I still rock the iPhone 6s. All I care about is battery life and maybe the screen when considering upgrading. I have a pro camera for photography and video so I'd rather spend the $1500 on camera gear or my computer rather then a telephone. LOL.
If you're coming from 12 series then it's a good reason to upgrade, if you're from 13 to 14 then there's not a need to upgrade since it's almost the same in performance in real life every day task to be honest

My camera lens is scratched to crap because the protective lens broke. Apple quoted me at $500 as the whole back will need replaced at that point I was like screwit and and going to upgrade, plus my AirPods case is usb-c
Why do people keep making videos about upgrading from the 14 pro max to the 15 pro max. Why do people even keep upgrading phones every year. Like really??? Do you need to?? It’s wasting money, not even because it’s the same phone, but that last years phone still still works very well and hasn’t even used a fraction of its life yet and won’t get near as much as you paid for it. The upgrading phones every year culture is something I don’t understand.
Somehow i decided to switch from S23U to i14 pro max. The overall user experience felt more balanced. The most noticeable “downgrade” is battery life and the camera. The camera on iPhone is so terrible. And now that we know i15 is not much better. Apple really needs to get their shit together.
Shoot. I found a deal on a new iPhone 14 Pro and “upgraded” from my 13 pro. I honestly don’t really see the difference aside from getting used to Dynamic Island
I’m not the type of person that needs a new iphone every year … I’m totally fine with my iPhone 14 Pro Max the upgrades every year with Apple are so minimal it’s not even really worth it in my opinion for my self . I’ll be fine with this phone for the next three to four years . And then hopefully there’s a huge leap forward by that time. And if not, then I’ll just stay with this phone. I’m fine with that as long as I can.
It’s not even just the rounded edges that’s makes the 15 pro susceptible to breaking. And the from screen is still pretty strong based on the drop test videos. The back is more likely to break because they mad the back easier to remove so it cheaper to repair. So there’s a trade off there. Also drop test videos aren’t realistic. Like who’s gonna bend their phone with that much force or drop a phone from that high. Seriously?? And who’s gonna drop their phone multiple times in a row consecutively that’ll weaken the frame quicker. To be fair the claims being made about the fragility of the phone is just nonsense.
First time i watch your channel, I like your way in putting everything together but you should write in the title should I upgrade because of camera because thats the most subject you focus about. For example: this year battery life is better and etc
Great review...but as my wife said to me yesterday: I don't care, I just want the latest iPhone. I don't care about the photos or video...I work hard and I want the latest. (Voice of the people) as I Rolled my eyes and stick with the 14 Pro.
The durability issue is probably caused by Apple using a new building style for back plate. It makes the phone more repairable, but less durable. You can even test yourself, if you have a 15 pro and 14/13/12 pro, gently knock on the back glass. 15 pro makes a more of a hollow noise.
Is it worth “upgrading” from an 8+ to a 15? I can make/receive phone calls/text messages/emails. I can even take photos, perhaps not as high a quality, but is that quality worth $1300+? If I want photos I’ll use my D850.
Trading in your phone would bring the cost down significantly. It’s definitely a leap in generations and you would be thoroughly surprised at the quality of life changes from the 8 to the 15. And if you keep good care of your phones, and don’t care to upgrade often, you wouldn’t need to upgrade for another 7+ years.

iPhone 15 Pro Max is a little lighter, easier to hold in the hand, is more grippy - guess most of the changes are external (for the most part in my opinion) and yes I am aware of all the internal changes :)

Ip14 pm is by far best iphone till date. Upgraded to 15pm after 2 weeks of use switched back to 14pm

I’m just glad i didn’t trade my 14 pro max to the 15 pro max. They almost the same. I still prefered the lightning charging and the stainless steel frame. I just check the antutu of my 14 pro max this year and the score is 1.4million. The phone still very smooth and the battery is doing good.
I still rock the iPhone 6s. All I care about is battery life and maybe the screen when considering upgrading. I have a pro camera for photography and video so I'd rather spend the $1500 on camera gear or my computer rather then a telephone. LOL.

If you're coming from 12 series then it's a good reason to upgrade, if you're from 13 to 14 then there's not a need to upgrade since it's almost the same in performance in real life every day task to be honest

The upgrade was big in terms of SoC, the gpu had a big upgrade and the cpu have a big enough one with also better power consumption.
Upgrading from a 14 Pro Max to a 15 Pro Max 🤡…….I’ll definitely pass. The difference isn’t big or ground-breaking enough in any shape, form or fashion. It never is in this case scenario.

My camera lens is scratched to crap because the protective lens broke. Apple quoted me at $500 as the whole back will need replaced at that point I was like screwit and and going to upgrade, plus my AirPods case is usb-c
Why do people keep making videos about upgrading from the 14 pro max to the 15 pro max. Why do people even keep upgrading phones every year. Like really??? Do you need to?? It’s wasting money, not even because it’s the same phone, but that last years phone still still works very well and hasn’t even used a fraction of its life yet and won’t get near as much as you paid for it. Somehow i decided to switch from S23U to i14 pro max. The overall user experience felt more balanced. The most noticeable “downgrade” is battery life and the camera. The camera on iPhone is so terrible.
And now that we know i15 is not much better. Apple really needs to get their shit together.
Shoot. I found a deal on a new iPhone 14 Pro and “upgraded” from my 13 pro. I honestly don’t really see the difference aside from getting used to Dynamic Island

I’m not the type of person that needs a new iphone every year … I’m totally fine with my iPhone 14 Pro Max the upgrades every year with Apple are so minimal it’s not even really worth it in my opinion for my self . I’ll be fine with this phone for the next three to four years . And then hopefully there’s a huge leap forward by that time. And if not, then I’ll just stay with this phone. I’m fine with that as long as I can.

It’s not even just the rounded edges that’s makes the 15 pro susceptible to breaking. And the from screen is still pretty strong based on the drop test videos. The back is more likely to break because they mad the back easier to remove so it cheaper to repair. So there’s a trade off there.
Also drop test videos aren’t realistic. Like who’s gonna bend their phone with that much force or drop a phone from that high. Seriously?? And who’s gonna drop their phone multiple times in a row consecutively that’ll weaken the frame quicker. To be fair the claims being made about the fragility of the phone is just nonsense.

Great review...but as my wife said to me yesterday: I don't care, I just want the latest iPhone. I don't care about the photos or video...I work hard and I want the latest. (Voice of the people) as I Rolled my eyes and stick with the 14 Pro.
The durability issue is probably caused by Apple using a new building style for back plate. It makes the phone more repairable, but less durable. You can even test yourself, if you have a 15 pro and 14/13/12 pro, gently knock on the back glass. 15 pro makes a more of a hollow noise.
Is it worth “upgrading” from an 8+ to a 15?
I can make/receive phone calls/text messages/emails. I can even take photos, perhaps not as high a quality, but is that quality worth $1300+?
If I want photos I’ll use my D850.
Trading in your phone would bring the cost down significantly. It’s definitely a leap in generations and you would be thoroughly surprised at the quality of life changes from the 8 to the 15. And if you keep good care of your phones, and don’t care to upgrade often, you wouldn’t need to upgrade for another 7+ years.

_You forgot to mention the purpose of using raw, which is predominantly for professional photographers, who do their own editing or color grading of their photos; The reason that the file and raw is so massive it’s because it’s filled with so much color and contrast data that can be manipulated to a color graders desire_

iPhone 15 Pro Max is a little lighter, easier to hold in the hand, is more grippy - guess most of the changes are external (for the most part in my opinion) and yes I am aware of all the internal changes :)
