      It’s good but they could’ve done a whole lot better in my opinion and missed the mark on this years release. Split screen could’ve been a great to have feature, a redesign of the Home Screen icons like in macOS and a revamped wallet app. I don’t understand why they keep on giving us features nobody asked for but oh well. Keep up the great effort on the videos Aaron! The content has been great

      I agree. The new features of iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 are not hardware-oriented. It’s all software related and not that processor-demanding.
      This is why I’m not in favour of every year substantial updates. If Apple going this fast, Apple users will no longer have the privilege to have a device that can have consistent 6 years of official support. Just go slow but nicely.

I do feel disappointed that older devices that support ios 17 won't be able to use certain features. It would be nice if all the new features Apple brings to each new main ios would work with every supported device, not just the newer ones.

    • @julieboruta
      @julieboruta Год назад +1

      One problem with that is certain older iPhone don’t have proper powerful chip sets so some features would be really slow if at all usable. Newer iPhones are built to handle that amount of power needed to run those features in the newer processors in the newest iPhones. I agree with you but that’s the reality and Apple has to make really old outdated iPhone with the last years version to have .5 .6 and so on and the older iPhones that just make the cut off have to be stable as well and with older less powerful slower processors they have to leave those new features out.

    That autocorrect feature must be some real hardware intensive computation to require an iPhone 12 in order for it to work... /s
    Another, highly disappointing thing still missing from iOS is the inability to have text prediction/autocorrect for multiple languages at the same time.
    On Android, similar languages (and even some not so similar) can be grouped together and the phone will try to predict what is being typed in all of the preconfigured languages. On iPhone, one still has to switch manually between, say English, German or Dutch. Highly frustrating!

    Some of these features Apple dropped for iPhone 10 & 11 series are always available on trivial android devices. Apple is giving us a sign that we should start thinking about better alternatives. Apple products are pretty expensive yet, the company always shows us how greedy Apple is by pushing us to stop using our older devices.

      Not a huge apple fan but it’s pretty impressive that these devices are still supported at all. The iPhone XS came out in 2018 and is still getting software updates. Android phones from 2018 stopped getting updates years ago. Whilst it is annoying not having some features, it’s only very minor stuff that doesn’t really warrant an upgrade

      @@rtyt2007 agree I don’t think people realize how old iPhone xs is and also if they care about the latest update or tech from apple every iPhone user know they need to buy a new phone. I like how they are trying to upgrade our technology and how we use it based on current stats however older models (iPhone SE 1 or lower) are becoming worthless and soon will be forgotten to history. If Apple is going down this path, add other uses which will be interesting to viewers of the product otherwise we would all have to buy a new phone in at least 5-10 years.
