What would have been the best move for white if black had responded to Nd2 with Bd4. I think that was move 9 at about 1m45s into the video?

you meant Be4 after i played Ne2? i actually missed Be4! the knight on c3 is pinned… Be4 makes a lot of sense to put the white king in a tough spot considering we are kind of forced to move the rook on h1..
