I always thought this band was stunningly good. One night after one of their performances, I accidentally ran into Dale Bozzio. I got a chance to talk to her for a while. I found her to be a highly intelligent, super nice woman. She did not have to talk to me for so long, but she did anyway and she had wonderful vibrations. Because it was an accidental meeting, I had nothing for her to sign after the show and she knew it. So she signed my T-shirt that I was wearing. She wrote: "Thank You for Being Such a Great Fan, Love Dale Bozzio". When I got home I immediately placed the T-shirt on my living room wall and I never wore it again. She is a kind woman and so talented. I will never forget that.

Absolutely RIGHT! As a die hard 80s fan who was brought up during that time, I very much agree that is this is the kind of song which is very much pure 80s. Saw them a bunch in the 80's.
First off, the guitar is in a league of it's own. I also wish a drum set like that could still be available today. However, this was during the glam 80's...
Kayleah H. Madison or does anyone else know the brand of e-drums Terry Bozzio is playing, or were they created just for the viddy? Warren and Terry most likely had first dibs on prototype instruments back in those days that had that futuristic design that you don't see any other musician playing...
not sure about the drum pads, but I think the sound source of the drums was made by JL Cooper. I have the JLCooper Sound Chest II (video on my channel) and someone commented that a prototype was built for Terry Bozzio.

In this number, as in Color Your Life, Missing Persons, she doesn’t use hiccups in her singing either. The Mission M, Missing Persons and Riot In English, Dale solo album, have brighter vocalization...Still great versatility performing and perhaps, because of Zappa more than Hustler magazine, she was greatly understated as a vocalist! Missing Persons; New Musik and; The Cure saved the 80s.
......I love this track, the album was really good too. This is the first time I've seen the video; Dales makeup artist did a really good job in my opinion!! I'll have to run out & get this nextime i order music.....💋💋💋
MP was absolutely the best ever when they first appeared, saw them very up close and personal when they performed in Berkeley. Dale was outrageously spectacular, all the musicians were A+, as good as it gets. By the time Rhyme & Reason came out though, you could sort of tell Dale was slipping, aging fast . . . something was happening to her. The rest of the band was delivering their usual uber-precision spot on professional best, even though the style was markedly different from their signature content. It was obvious the original MP was already fading away . . . but it was a fantastic moment while they lasted.
+Charles Ostman What do you think was happening to Dale? We she and Terry married and then not? Or had she just written herself out in an otherwise inorganic environment.
J.E. Dyche Reading about Mick Taylor of the Rolling Stones, too. Missing Persons would have a difficult time sustaining commercial success as they were so brainy and outside of the mainstream, in addition to other thing, real struggle. It is bearable when you are 20 years of age, less so at 30, impossible at 40. So few in US pop have long term careers, replaced by the next bunch who now have turned lewd and aggressive.
+Charles Ostman I agree with what you say but i feel that Rhyme & Reason was there swan song. Its a perfect post new wave album that mixes jazz fusion with pop rock, just listen to Patricks bass lines and the drumming omg amazing. I don't think they could of did better then this album. And sadly they just imploded terry and Dalke broke up drugs got in disinterest fighting the stories seems to paint a horrible pic of the last few years and that last album, oh man, its unlistenable. I just think Rand R is there truly last album. After that it was a mess.
I’ve been saying that for years. Along with the fact that Gaga and Stefani got their inspiration from Dale. I’m glad I’m not the only who feels this way about Missing Persons. My favorite band since I was 5.
Anyone else jamming to this album on cassette in your car? - yes...I still have the original stereo cassette/radio player in my 88 Honda Accord :) - I guess its one of the benefits of not converting over to a cd player.....some cassettes still sound pretty good. Or am I too old school? :)
Incredible. Of my old [cassette] players, only two still work, the best one being a Kenwood from '99. The versatility of that medium has never been matched; you could record off any other medium, edit, fade, whatever. I have one collection of 100 new age tapes -- music you'll not find anywhere now. One disadvantage is that even the best Chromium Oxide tapes will fail within 40 or 50 years, and i have vinyl that is older than that! You're choice of cars is even more impressive; few cars will go as long/far as a Honda Accord. You'll not replace it in the 21st Century for even 10x as much. . .
Have been playing a lot of their music lately. It's so refreshing to know the music has stood up well after all these years. It could easily work today if they were a new band on the scene. Glad they came along when I was 20.

I USED TO DITCH HIGH SCHOOL TO WATCH MTV ON THE FIRST FAMILY IN THE HUNTINGTON BEACH CALIFORNIA NEIGHBORHOOD OF THE SPRINGHURST TOWNHOMES TO GET A JARROD CABLE SERVICE TUNER BOX ON OUR FAMILY TELEVISION SET, & THIS IS ONE OF THE MORE MEMORABLE TUNES I WATCHED. I don't get why people keep comparing? Just take them (or leave them) for who they are! One thing for sure, artist/acts like this stand out, we for the most part, know who they are. Mission accomplished!
Awesome instruments!!! I always thought that the futuristic vision of the 80´s can´t be beat. It was the peak of that "neo" aesthetics. Today´s vision of future is more dystopic and sober, minimalistic in a wrong way, if this video ws made today their instruments will be holographic or with a touchscreen
Am an 80's kid--loved this song, and had the 45. (It's a good companion piece to Kajagoogoo's "Too Shy.") As a kid, I found the group kind of scary, truth be told--dark vibe! Man, lead singer Dale looks just like Lady Gaga, at least in this video. : - )

Any instrument in this video would be like collector pieces man ...that guitar and those air cymbals bozzio is playing on.80's phenomenon often imitated yet never to be duplicated...where a man could be as flamboyant as he wanted to be and still get all the girls gotta love the enigma behind it and the millions MTV made off of it.
Missing Persons; New Musik and; The Cure saved the 80s.
the whole album must be listened
Always my favorite song by this band!!!
What year was this? I never remembered this one.
The new wave band that graduated from the Zappa School of Rock. And it shows - crazy looks and tight talent.
Definitely one of the best if not the best music band of all time.
I loved this song on 80'. I've the 45!
Chuck Wilde is probably the most underrated keyboard player out there. Him and Richard Barbieri from Japan.
......I love this track, the album was really good too. This is the first time I've seen the video; Dales makeup artist did a really good job in my opinion!! I'll have to run out & get this nextime i order music.....💋💋💋
La mùsica de Missing Persons fué especial en los 80`s y sigue siéndolo hoy. La canción de mi juventud: Surrender your Heart
This is sooo New wave! I love it! I miss the 80's!!
This is so badass!I was in my early teens when this came out and it still works for me.
+Snoo Lee There were some substance things going on. The bane of the business.
J.E. Dyche
Reading about Mick Taylor of the Rolling Stones, too.
+Charles Ostman she looks like a crazy old lounge singer in this video
Sweet,Nice and Amazing.I like this song a lot.Another Jewel of the best Musics of the Fantastic 80's.Warm and Precious Memories.
Re-discovering gems of eighties music. Timeless, still danceable, and also great for night cruising.
Did you get it all? Simple Minds...Wall Of Voodoo...Ultravox...Tangerine Dream...Marillion...Depeche Mode...Icehouse
The Missing Persons artistic masterpiece. This is just an absolute joy
Underrated and amazing song.
I’ve been saying that for years. Along with the fact that Gaga and Stefani got their inspiration from Dale. I’m glad I’m not the only who feels this way about Missing Persons. My favorite band since I was 5.
0:30 That colorful, perfectly sculpted face sure looked good on a big TV screen back in the spring of '84.
Anyone else jamming to this album on cassette in your car? - yes...I still have the original stereo cassette/radio player in my 88 Honda Accord :) - I guess its one of the benefits of not converting over to a cd player.....some cassettes still sound pretty good. Or am I too old school? :)
Give Again yeah still rocking this
jammin on Give Again
i suggest u all view this via cardboard!!!
You'll not replace it in the 21st Century for even 10x as much. . .
I SAW THEM ON THIS TOUR ... TERRY'S KIT KEPT BREAKING DOWN GREAT ADVENTURE NJ 1984 ... I WAS IN HEAVEN ...
Out of this world still timeless
💜🌸💜
That fill Terry does on the fadeout...brutal.
Have been playing a lot of their music lately. It's so refreshing to know the music has stood up well after all these years. It could easily work today if they were a new band on the scene. Glad they came along when I was 20.
this is my band for life I grew up on them cool
+Roy Thomas me too :)
WOW.
THIS IS BACK WHEN MTV ACTUALLY PLAYED FRICKEN MUSIC.
WHAT HAPPENED, MTV ?
"it's the good you do it for." This band was really nice! (first concert ever, I was age 12)
This band was so good and Dale was ripped off by everyone! She was an original!
Gwen Stefani.
Cyndi Lauper, Gwen Stefani, Pink, Lady Gaga. Who else? Man, they really wanted to be her!
Yes. This band was so damn good. Dale is the Queen or Marie Antoinette of New Wave / Oldwave music. (Madonna was not NewWave)
80's Is Amazing & Magic 📺
Warren's opening riff is so badass. No intro it's just BAM and in your face.
How did i miss this group from the 80's, never heard of them before tonight ,Well done Dale great stuff.loved it, I've been a 80's critic for many yes and can't believe I've not come across this group.x
My all time favorite from them. I was amazed by the guitar that looked like one of my electric race tracks, haha!
I ran out and bought MP first album when I heard it, and every one after that....a great 80's band.
This band is my all time favorite. Brings back many good memories of the music of the 80's.
When you're looking for an answer and nothing seems to fit, Don't Give Up...
PERFECTION, i tell you and NOTHING LESS...
i always liked Dale's outfits .they are really out of this world
I don't get why people keep comparing? Just take them (or leave them) for who they are! One thing for sure, artist/acts like this stand out, we for the most part, know who they are. Mission accomplished!
Comparisons are apt because Lady Gaga ripped off Dale Bozzio and she sucks.
This song was genius !
Very good song
Awesome instruments!!! I always thought that the futuristic vision of the 80´s can´t be beat. It was the peak of that "neo" aesthetics. Today´s vision of future is more dystopic and sober, minimalistic in a wrong way, if this video ws made today their instruments will be holographic or with a touchscreen
One of my very favorite MP songs ever! They were so original and fantastic live! I miss MP! Dale Bozzio was awesome!
Haven't seen a guitar like that then or since I first watched this video 25 years ago!
Grear Song from the Keyboard to the guitar to the baseline. "GIVE ME MORE"
My COSMIC sister. Goddess Dale she is pure magic 🌸
Thanks EMI for putting up all of the Missing Persons videos in such great quality. I appreciate you getting with the program and giving us fans what we want. Now if you could dig in the vaults a bit more and post up some of their live videos we would appreciate it!
Right on!!!
They sound incredible and I can’t believe I missed this group in the 80’s!
😎
