- Tom Petty's 'Mary Jane's Last Dance' has a deceptively tricky solo! Mike Campbell plays a little loose on this one so it's tough to really pin down. In this video, I got you!

Man this is awesome, looking at other videos on here and struggling then finding yours made my day a whole lot better. Much appreciated, my buddies and I are thinking of doing gigs and Mary Jane’s Last Dance is one of the songs we will be playing, your lesson made things a whole lot easier for us!
I'm happy to help! It's tricky for sure! Have fun giggin' :)
Great job! Somehow resolving Mike's so called "simple" solos never turn out on the fretboard like I envision them in my head. Knew I needed help and this was just the ticket!
Thanks for the compliment! It was definitely a task to hear what was going on and transcribing it. No one had it right in my opinion so I did a video on it. Glad my hard work is paying off by helping you :)
I don't know how anyone learns from stuff like this
great lesson even better hair
haha
This is arguably the most accurate Mike Campbell solo of this song I've found on RUclips so far :p
Thank you. It was quite a bit of work listening and re-listening again at 50% speed to really feel I got it right for you. I appreciate you appreciating!
@@mccormickguitar Do you think in the original record he uses 2 guitars for the solo, sounds like so to me
definitely

Thanks! Let's get that algorithm rocking.
I'm all about it! haha thanks for the support :)
So 5th fret. G. B. To 7th. G b back n fourth, until it sounds nasty
haha pretty much. this is why knowing your scales is important. you can kind of get the idea here and make it your own :)
