    What an amazing time to be alive! It used to be all "Work hard and be a man!" How great is that we get to hear information about dealing with emotions and anxiety in a strength sports microcosm?

    • @22448824
      @22448824 2 года назад

      All these recovery ideas were being used in the 70’s and 80’s. The human body hasn’t changed.
      By the way, there was nothing about anxiety and emotions in the video. I hate to say it but if these are your concerns you shouldn’t be aiming for high standards in sports.

      @@22448824 You might want to think about stress and how you're handling it yourself there. We have come a long way from the Bulgarian 'max out all the time' mindset and OP was obviously talking about lowering stress for better recovery i.e. better mental health for better physical recovery.

    Very low intensity cardio increases blood flow which can certainly benefit the muscles. It does not take much effort and works as a vasdodilator. Flexibility while sore is essential to combat tightness and incorrect tissue remodelling. In-fact i have just quoted that from one of Dr, Quins videos on THIS channel, conflicting information? You mention light lifting for recovery but don't seem to transfer that application to the cardio aspect. I am not saying your information is overly wrong but this video just feels a bit flat, uninformative and not applicable for most people.

    But would you say stretching or "flexibility/mobility" work is beneficial in terms of improving your mobility, not using them as a recovery method?

    • @Yardbuiltracing
      @Yardbuiltracing 6 лет назад

      Zach Racow he does mention that component. Just change the thought process you have. “Improving my ROM is to improve performance not recovery” There’s a different segment where he discusses flexibility/mobility training hinders performance gains when the volume and intensity is high.

  • @TavernBrawler
    @TavernBrawler 6 лет назад

    This video is essentially "Work smarter, not harder." How do you feel about swimming as a form of recovery and the cardio component? Is it a good idea?

    • @beccakreidler8290
      @beccakreidler8290 5 лет назад

      Swimming has both cardio and resistance components (due to pushing on the water). If you are swimming as active recovery (messing around in the pool), it's probably fine. But if you are swimming to train or as a sport, it fits into the too much cardio box. It's just another stressor and not actually recovery. Also, swimming poorly can lead to injuries. Rotator cuff injuries are common in swimmers, particularly those with poor form.

    How do I know if I am overreaching. I am getting gains with volumes that far exceed recommendations. If i feel sore I take an additional day to rest whether its planed or not. I find that i adapt to the training volume before the next workout and ussaly make gains on a weekly basis.

    • @JuggernautTrainingSystems
      @JuggernautTrainingSystems  6 лет назад

      I'm assuming based on what you're saying that you're a relative beginner, if so, its nearly impossible for you to overreach now because your special work capacity is increasing so quickly and your ability to generate very high fatigue each session is low.

    • @thewallstreetjournal5675
      @thewallstreetjournal5675 6 лет назад

      That's a good answer. Thanks for responding.
      Ive gone from 90 to 135 pounds Bench in the last 2 mouths. So I would still be a beginner. Currently I work 8 sets on bench and incline 2 times a week. and one day on arms. 8 sets close grip bench , 8 dips , And 8 skulls crushers. really crush my arms but I seem stronger after 72 hours. If i can reach 2 plates by Christmas that would be awesome.
