Former sniper Nicholas Irving shared how his sniper training impacts his daily life. Irving talked about the importance of patience in his role as a sniper, noting that most of his job involved waiting, being patient, and often fighting boredom. He divulged that his training involved taking “mental snapshots” and memorizing objects' details, which is crucial for their observational skills. Irving stated that while this training has little implementation in civilian life, he uses it while driving because he tends to be on the lookout due to his experiences in Iraq. He also uses these observational skills at home, noticing details such as the placement of shoes or the way curtains are drawn back. Maintaining these habits, Irving concluded, helped his transition from his previous role as a sniper to regular civilian life.

Can’t think of a better interview. This is amazing. There is a literal sniper giving us details of probably one of the craziest jobs you can have.
Everybody needs to go sign up 🤔🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
They should interview Jesus

Army EOD here...I take a snapshot of everything I see. What he is describing is learned but also it is innate. I have both because of my childhood but if you are ever trained to do this, you will never forget how to do it. This is life and death.
Thanks for your service!!
90% of my job is boredom, too. I work on a food production line where I’m observing to see if the product is to be discarded. 8 hours of that is flat out tedious, repetitive and makes you want to fall asleep. Half the time I AM falling asleep and the other half I’m trying to figure out why I’m still doing this crap.
Underrated interview by far real life knowledge
I'm an introverted person..: I see things in patterns & I'm WAY MORE observational than others!! ☢😆💯 .. I'm like a bird on a branch.. JUST observing!! 🐦😈
I definitely can relate to this comment. I tell ppl I’m always watching, even if I’m not directly looking at something I’m still watching. My peripheral vision is impeccable. I’m always listening too!! It’s just my upbringing. I’m an only child and a big introvert so I always had to count on ME to look after ME.
I always found this guy interesting, and snipers. Much respect to him. Really good video.
nothing but respect for this man!
As a fellow actor and military brat. I would love to be in a project with Nicholas Irving and Michael Jai White. It would be one for the ages.

Thats how my mind worked when i was running hard in the streets..it's something that u just can't turn off i turned it off when i moved out of nyc to Portland because i just felt safe..

I’m a filmmaker 🎬 and Communications Professor 👨🏽🏫 who has worked at BALTIMORE POLICE (civilian) and I can tell you police officers are very similar. Please not the cops today most of them get caught slipping all the time especially in nyc..
No vet but i be remembering where stuff at in my house too. Even when i lose something I know where it is or at least it last was. 😂🤣

I read about Carlos, the white feather, he was being hunted by another sniper. Carlos killed the sniper hunting after him when the opposing sniper made the mistake of having the sun hit his sniper scope. Carlos shot the sniper right thru the scope and into the eye. Bad ass dude
No, he didn't shoot through the scope. You watch too many movies.
Nick has even said that it's bs as well so stop spouting nonsense in here

As a driver this made me proud
Shit i drove for fedex for a couple years and now im a paranoid driver now too😂😂 i literally hate having people drive me now its insane how distracted people are nowadays. 5 keys to defensive driving has saved me from countless accidents tbh.
