I am Kirito. Btw, you aren’t suppose to run straight, sometimes you gotta roll and sprint side ways to get close enough, or get your health bar higher and stronger.
You have to, no matter what boost 3 of 6 stats . Dex, Str, and Vit, then moderately boost the at least 2 of the other 3 . Because all weapons require dex and str no matter what and vitality is your health so those 3 are necessary . If your using gadgets you’ll focus on intellegence, if your a photon sword user than put it in AGI, and if your a tank or damage dealer go with LUCK because it boost critical hit rate which is vital for fights because it’ll end bosses quickly if you get enough criticals

I didn't choose swords to be like Kirito lol, I chose a photon blade and sniper rifle combo because I love melee fighting, and so that I can support my allies if they get attacked while being too far away from me, as well as to scope out enemies before running in
Also I have like two builds I'm thinking about a str,dex,luck build then for another agi,dex,luck build. They will have enough str but and int in it but just enough for skills.

Because your skills are equipped to different weapon types. Click on your name and go to Skill Sets. You can choose different presets for each type of weapon. Your Photon Sword isn't going to need Sliding Shot or Concentration. It can be annoying when equipping a brand new weapon and you go out to test it but die in 5 seconds because you only have the two base skills equipped. Just remember that if you buy a skill under your name, you'll have to buy it for your ArFA-SYS as well. Gadgets are permanent. They don't go with any specific presets. If you buy one, both you and your AI have one. If you max out a skill's Proficiency Level, you can go to the Skill Shop and buy the second version of it. Then max that out and get the third, etc. Hope this helps.

A video on how to actually take fights in this game would be great. Becuase the dodge roll seems to do nothing in my opinion, I mostly just end up trying to block line of sight when the red pointer of death is aiming at me. But some areas have little to no cover, so should I have a tank soaking agro or what?
None of the SAO games are mechanically conducive to melee... the controls are entirely too slow and clunky. Yet another clue that Kirito is cheating-ass hacker. I mean he creates his own god damn skills and does shit to defy inherent game mechanics and rule sets. This is the definition of cheating.

Heavily armored enemies are weak to optical weapons. Fleshy targets are weak to physical. Explosive is an all round. I havent messed with melee
