Thank you for respecting them and just waiting for them to pass by. So many times tourists are eager for a photo and will invade their space to get one.... that's how people get hurt.

Thanks for your comments everyone. We felt very much that we were a visitor on their territory and as such the bison deserve all the respect we could give them. Be it a little scary at times, the opportunity to do many of USA and Canadian national parks on a motorcycle was one that we will long remember.

O my yes, on a motorcycle, it is important to stay quiet and still when the bison go by. You are just the size to cause them anxiety.

True. There are strict rules against approaching bison in the park, they have total right of way. Exciting as this was we were pleased we read the statistics after the event. "According to a 2019 study by Utah State University, American bison injure more people than any other wildlife in Yellowstone National Park, including the much-feared grizzly bear. The report says that bison injured 56 people and killed two in Yellowstone between 1978 and 1992 and injured a further 25 people between 2000 and 2015 - of those, 10 were thrown into the air, nine were headbutted, six were gored and almost half required hospitalization as a result".

@@allancoulter6992 They need American bison at Pamplona, Spain for the Running of the Bulls. It would likely too inhumane or too short for this though.

Anyone who rides a cycle through Yellowstone is begging for trouble. Buffalo bears and elk are not your buddies.

And on top of that they’re talking instead of staying as quiet as possible.

It always amazes me that people Travel Thousands of Miles to see Yellowstone and it Wild Life and then they get there and are in a RUSH to push the Animals off the road so they can get somewhere faster. I have even heard some of the City Dwellers say, "These Animals should be kept in a ZOO.." So, if that is the way they feel why don't they just stay Home. I live in the Black Hills in the middle of the National Forest and we hear this BS to from tourist who like to Harass the Buffalo and any wild life they see... Just wrong.

I think we are so enthralled by them because some of our ancestors used to eat them. Feeling hungry? I am.

    That's not a bike! It's called a MOTORCYCLE. A bike is a bicycle, not a motorcycle
