I'd pick a different ten every time you asked me. It's impossible to sit and think of every song in existence like some giant super-computer and rank them against each other. The best I could do is think of ten songs I'd like to hear right now.

Probably my favorite Zep song. You got the killer riff, together with Bonzo's kick drum. What sets this over the top IMO is that Jonesy just pumps the Bass straight on. And of course you got "I been to London, seen seven wonders.." on top.
@@KingArthur0725 Hell yeah; best section starts right at 2:37 of the tune. The 2 37 got hi lighted, but doesn't apply to Pete's clip, but the actual song.
It's everything that is good about Led Zeppelin. What I like to do though, is just listen to Page's guitar work all the way through. I especially love the fade at the end. Page was killing it on this song.

First off, very gutsy to even attempt this. Secondly, I love the way Pete speaks about music in general. You’ve all heard the expression, “you can’t take it with you” when talking about material things. I personally believe you will take your music with you. I believe your brain and subsequently your spirit, will hold your music forever.
°Anesthetize - Porcupine tree (live in Tilburg) °Second life syndrome - Riverside °To bid you farewell - Opeth °The turn of a friendly card - The Alan Parsons Project °Fool's overture - Supertramp °Lady fantasy - Camel Not exactly my top 6 tracks, just wanted to highly recommend these underappreciated gems

@@lpsaugat hello! If I were to redo the list today, supper's ready and dogs would definitely be in my top 10! As for Gentle Giant, I haven't listened to any of their music yet, I should probably get on it lol

@@FrostedSeagull Thank you! I was actually surprised at how easy this list came together. I also kept telling myself that the Stones and AC/DC had to be on top as those two bands are my favourites.
I love your Beatles choice and also Wasted Years is the one Maiden song that actually moves my emotions! Rebel Rebel has one of the best ever guitar riffs (dirty and mean) and played by Bowie himself !

Man, it's hard enough to pick favorite 10 bands of all time, let alone albums, or even more impossible songs. A list like this could change for me daily.
My top 10 1. The Temptations - Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me) 2. Steely Dan - Haitian Divorce 3. Richard and Linda Thompson - A Heart Needs A Home 4. No specific order. I'll give it a shot. Led Zeppelin - four sticks Uriah Heep - Gypsy Steppenwolf - don't step on the grass Sam Motels - suddenly last summer Ashford and Simpson - solid Olivia Newton John - magic Grand Funk Railroad - inside looking out Dio- don't talk to strangers Himinbjorg - circle of warriors Falkenbach - beloved feral winter I'd have to make a top 100 list if I'm going to do this. May the sunshine - Nazareth 7. Star - Nazareth 8. Radar Love - Golden Earring 9. Love is a Rodeo - Golden Earring 10) Violins - Golden Earring
Silly Love Songs. Wow. Sometimes have thought I’m the only one who loves it. Has my favorite bass line of all time. Took the Jamerson influence and ran with it. The live Wings version is off the scale - sings like that *and* plays that bass line. Too much talent for one man
No particular order, but songs that mean much to me. Baker Street - Gerry Rafferty Take the Long Way Home - Supertramp Ammonia Avenue - Alan Parsons Project Long Way to the Top - AC/DC A Day in the Life - The Beatles Let 'em In - Paul McCartney Rock and Roll Fantasy - The Kinks Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner - Iron Maiden Feels Like the First Time - Foreigner We All Fall In Love Sometimes, Curtains, Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy (tied) - Elton John Honorable Mentions: Hell's Bells - AC/DC Kashmir - Led Zeppelin Clocks - Coldplay A Forest - The Cure Scenes From An Italian Restaurant - Billy Joel Southern Cross - Crosby, Stills, and Nash. Great list. Songs that resonate with me today... and most days in fact. Tears of a Clown - Smokey Robinson and the Miracles All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix Dancing Barefoot - Patti Smith I Saw the Light - Todd Rundgren Gimme Shelter - The Stones Oh I Wept - Free I've Been Loving You too Long - Otis Redding Last Chance Texaco - Ricki Lee Jones Galbraith Street - Ron Sexsmith Time (the Revelator) - Gillian Welch. Of course this list changes but all of the above mean something to me.
I gotta weigh in on this. There are tunes that you never get tired of hearing! In no particular order- Green-Eyed Lady: Sugarloaf- original only! Jerry Corbetta has redone it and it isn't as good as the first. Owner Of A Lonely Heart- Yes. Something about this tune. Movin Out- Aerosmith. Lovely little tune. Bastille Day- Rush. I love all the old Rush but this is a Rush gateway tune. If you like it they are for you. Let Me Introduce You To The Family - The Stranglers. Lots of fun and hard to get out of your head. One Thing Leads To Another- The Fixx. It still gives me a boost of energy. Behind The Barrier - Planet P Project. A great dark comedy from the Cold War era. Short Memory- Midnight Oil Little Wing - Jimi Hendrix Cold Turkey - John Lennon. I would like to add that each of these songs is associated with a major event or time in my life and that makes them special. Hearing them takes me back to that time and brings back very warm fuzzy feelings! That is what art is supposed to do.
My top ten: *1)* Ghetto Child - The Spinners *2)* Tuesday's Gone - Lynyrd Skynyrd *3)* Waiting for a Girl Like You - Foreigner *4)* Battle of Evermore - Led Zeppelin *5)* Low Spark & High Heels Boys (Live) - Traffic *6)* (Ghost) Riders in the Sky - Johnny Cash *7)* Eagle - ABBA *8)* Love Is Like Oxygen - Sweet *9)* Grey Ghost - Henry Paul Band *10)* Also Sprach Zarathustra (2001) - Deodato (1973) HM #1): *The Clown, Mighty Love* from The Spinners. *You Are Everything, Betcha Golly Wow, You Make Me Feel Brand Knew* from The Stylistics. #2) *Free Bird (instrumental), Red White and Blue* from Skynyrd. #3) *Suite Madame Blue, Castle Walls* from Styx. *Loner, Play The Game Tonight,The Wall* from Kansas. #4) *Kashmir, Over the Hills* from Zeppelin. *Strange Ways, Woman from Tokyo, Perfect Strangers, Knocking At Your Back Door* from Purple. *Rocking On Heaven Down, Wild Child* from Heart #5) Live cuts: *Comfortably Numb* from Pink Floyd. *Atom Heart Mother* from Floyd Tribute Pink Toons.*Get Ready* from Rare Earth. #6) *You Never Called Me By Your Name* from David Allan Coe. *Dance Away* from The Oak Ridge Boys. *Teddy Bear* from Red Sovine. #7) *Could It Be Magic* from Barry Manilow or Donna Summer. *All By Myself & Sunrise* from Eric Carmen. *Hurricane* from Bob Dylan. Numbers one to seven were pretty easy. It was squeezing in those last three that got me. Luckily I have all kinds of lists I’ve made in the past (favorite albums, metal albums. Etc…) to look back on to help me. And I’ll try to limit one song for each band I love…or things could get pretty repetitive. 1. Southern Cross- Crosby, Stills & Nash 2. Hallowed Be Thy Name- Iron Maiden 3. Promises in the Dark- Pat Benatar 4. Heaven and Hell- Black Sabbath 5. Crime of the Century- Supertramp 6. Travelin’ Man/Beautiful Loser [Live]- Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band 7. Indian Sunset- Elton John 8. Brain Damage/Eclipse- Pink Floyd 9. Fell on Black Days- Soundgarden 10. The Front? Killer album all the way through, man. Once in awhile I find another person that is into these guys. Their follow-up under the name Bakers Pink wasn't as good. 🤘⚡
@@sweetwilliam2511 I saw The Front open for Alice Cooper and met both The Front and Alice after the show. I kinda like Bakers Pink even though it's not AS good. The lead singer did a solo album under the name Michael Moon. And then about seven years ago Michael released a live Front album (on CD only) from that Alice Cooper tour. I bought both when they came out...but they're a little pricey nowadays. Here's a link to a song from the solo album. ruclips.net/video/VebA45lgjGo/видео.html
Ain't MUSIC GREAT!There's so much to listen to and discern the GREAT ONES from the FILLER! I love comparing MUSIC OPINIONS with ALL Music Lovers. Peace

MIJ version.
Oh you picked a Supertramp song too. Their work is very memorable when I think across the decades. Ballroom Blitz is a great pick. Have you seen the Motion Device cover of it? I think they did a good job.
As a Brit I'm proud that so many of our bands have made an impact on guys like Pete in the US.
Everyone knows the Brits punch way above their weight when it comes to churning out great rock bands.
My favourite song is Sultans of swing. I'ts just so nostalgic for me and the Alchemy live preformance is my favourite live preformance
ever.
The Alchemy Live album is one of the greatest ever Live albums.
Much respect for having the discipline and ability to whittle your massive listening catalog to just 10 songs. I wouldn't know where to start!
He should do a top 10 everyday for 30 days, each day would be different but it would be an interesting experiment. 🎸 👍
I could never only pick ten.
Me neither. Only all honorables. Ha

Beatles Rain really Great
But i really Love Humble Pie's Rain
(Beatles Cover) from 1975 !!!
Great Singing Great Guitars....!
The Spinners choice seemingly came out of nowhere. One of my favorites from the fall of 1975. I was in eighth grade and life was so simple, but I didn't realize it at the time.
Great list. I know some of them, so I'll check out the others, thank you.

ELO Telephone Line
Eric Clapton Forever Man
Rolling Stones Gimme Shelter
Gary Moore Still Got the Blues
Eurythmics There Must be an Angel...
Beatles Let it Be
Pink Floyd Comfortably Numb
And so on...
The Rover from Zeppelin. This song is so underrated. I agree. Kick ass tune which never got airplay.
Probably my favorite Zep song. You got the killer riff, together with Bonzo's kick drum. What sets this over the top IMO is that Jonesy just pumps the Bass straight on. And of course you got "I been to London, seen seven wonders.." on top.
Awesome song. I have no idea why it didn't become a huge hit.
@@KingArthur0725 Hell yeah; best section starts right at 2:37 of the tune. The 2 37 got hi lighted, but doesn't apply to Pete's clip, but the actual song.
It's number 8 on my list (see above).
It's everything that is good about Led Zeppelin. What I like to do though, is just listen to Page's guitar work all the way through. I especially love the fade at the end. Page was killing it on this song.
Nice to see you really liking UFO's "Rock Bottom", that is one of my all time favorite hard rock/heavy metal tunes.

I’m a rock guy too, but what a great choice with “Brandy”.
I bet most of us have a pop song we adore. Usually tied to childhood memories...
@@bobrisse9823 Mine was over ice.
Alcohol or girl?
Child in Time.
My most beloved tune ever.
Turn the lights off and blast it through the headphones or through a PA system
Yeah, that is a kick ass song. I haven't heard it in a while but great choice. Live version especially.
This song is plagiarism
@Bryan Mack It's a beautiful day-Bombay calling

Lol You said no particular order and then you number them ......classic !!!
Love minstrel in the gallery
You know what? You just helped me remember how much I love Still of the Night and the whole album. Thank you!
It’s so Zeppelin that it detracted from how good a track it is when listened to without prejudice. Hence not given the honours it deserves IMO.

And one of their heaviest too
That's one of my top 10 DP songs.
Good pick.
What about Pictures of Home of Machine Head?
I have heard Pictures of Home on a few movies and TV shows in the last seven years.

@@FrostedSeagull Thank you! I was actually surprised at how easy this list came together. I also kept telling myself that the Stones and AC/DC had to be on top as those two bands are my favourites.
Jason Roussel Interesting choice for ACDC. It’s the start of an album in which any of the songs could take its place.
I love your Beatles choice and also Wasted Years is the one Maiden song that actually moves my emotions! Rebel Rebel has one of the best ever guitar riffs (dirty and mean) and played by Bowie himself !
duran duran erm but others i like also

Man, it's hard enough to pick favorite 10 bands of all time, let alone albums, or even more impossible songs. A list like this could change for me daily.

Patrick Crowther Haitian Divorce is very underrated in the grand scheme of Steely Dan’s discography- my favorite song by them, very cool to see it at number 2 on someone’s list
I've always thought that Black Sabbath should've recorded 'Just my imagination' as the follow up to 'Paranoid.'
I always loved Still of the Night, excellent! Nice, diverse list.
I'm starting to think maybe you should do a top 10 T SHIRTS - how many do you have anyway ???????

Nice choices all!!! As years go on, it gets harder to pick a top 10, even a top 100.
Do love that list❤️🙏
That's my top 10:
Brian Eno: An Ending (Ascent)
Planet Caravan- Black Sabbath
One of my turns- Pink Floyd
Die young- Black sabbath
Amico fragile- Fabrizio De André
Comfortably Numb- Pink Floyd
Prowler- Iron Maiden

With you on your Nazareth selection. Two from No Mean City- my favourite Nazareth album.
Silly Love Songs. Wow. Sometimes have thought I’m the only one who loves it. Has my favorite bass line of all time. Took the Jamerson influence and ran with it. The live Wings version is off the scale - sings like that *and* plays that bass line. Too much talent for one man
Pete, revisiting this has your list changed since?

No particular order, but songs that mean much to me.
Baker Street - Gerry Rafferty

Gimme Shelter - The Stones
Oh I Wept - Free
I've Been Loving You too Long - Otis Redding
Last Chance Texaco - Ricki Lee Jones
Galbraith Street - Ron Sexsmith
Time (the Revelator) - Gillian Welch.
Of course this list changes but all of the above mean something to me.
I gotta weigh in on this. There are tunes that you never get tired of hearing! In no particular order-
Green-Eyed Lady: Sugarloaf- original only!
Short Memory- Midnight Oil
Little Wing - Jimi Hendrix
Cold Turkey - John Lennon.
I would like to add that each of these songs is associated with a major event or time in my life and that makes them special. Hearing them takes me back to that time and brings back very warm fuzzy feelings! That is what art is supposed to do.

Yes ... won’t get fooled 😀Played a lot recently following watching The Who live at Kilburn 1977.
