I SWEAR I'M NOT CRYING, YOU ARE!!
This album is basically a timeline, every song is from different stages of is mourning! Mike is such a great guy and I say this just by seeing is live performances on RUclips and interviews. I feel you, I have the dream of meeting him and rest of Linkin Park! And now you feel the same way as we soldiers! #RIPChester #FuckDepression
I saw Mike live recently, fucking blessing
@@jarrodc.7876 you were blessed! He didn't came to Portugal unfortunately 😭
@@joaocaldeira1002 I would love to see him here in Portugal too 💗💗💗
Bro don't apologize about breaking it down. We watch to hear your opinion
You'll have to watch the tribute show for Chester to truly understand "Over Again".
Some people already mentioned that the first verse was written and recorded on the day of the show (he even wears the same outfit) and the second the day after. Mike said the "sometimes you don't say goodbye once" part came from the repetiton of the LP songs. They had to relearn them without Chester for that show. And Over Again is so emotionally difficult for Mike that he leaves the first verse away now at live shows.
The tribute show was the bravest thing LP ever did. Just watch "Looking For An Answer", which Mike wrote for Chester within a week after his passing. You can hear Mike's voice crack, you can see that he has to close his eyes several times and recollect himself. It was so hard for all of them, but they did it to give some closure to the fans too. And I'm intensely grateful for that. They aren't just a great band, they are fantastic human beings.
I feel that. Watching the show even after hearing it. You can see Mike trying so hard to keep it together every close up
You're right! I still can't watch the tribute show without crying so I can't imagine what it was like for Mike to perform it!
I'm still in the same boat honestly.
He actually stopped singing the first verse of this song at his solo shows. Did it once and it was so emotional for him he couldn’t do it again ❤️
yeah and he blended it with papercut :(
When did he done that? I can't find any footage of full song live
@@siddharthamks Mike sang the first verse at Weenie Roast. As far as I know it's always been a mashup with Papercut and has never been performed in full.
@@GraffitiSky thanks.
In the beginning, the car alarm, was actually going off outside his house when he was recording, and the "Come on!" Was him reacting to it, but he kept it in cause he felt like it added to the raw emotion that are in these first 3 songs on the album, originally released in the Post Traumatic EP
I went to Mike’s concert in Detroit in November. He is such a cool guy and so good at live performances. He had the crowd sing “In The End” with him and it was an unbelievable experience, singing with mike and the crowd in honor of Chester was an experience I will never forget.
Same i was at mikes show in zurich Switzerland. It was the best shit I’ve ever been a part of in terms of shows. And yes i Fucking cried multiple times during songs because holy shit it gets to you.
It makes me so happy, that YOU. Take time out of your day to pay your respect to Mike and Chester, almost everyday by reacting and speaking life about their songs. Even though you haven't been in the fandom for a long time, you're really a true fan. I greatly
appreciate every nice comment you make on their songs. You're true man. Hopefully you get to talk with Mike soon. Great video 🙏 😭.
Mike wrote the first half of this song before the celebrate life concert. Which was the concert mike and the band did to honor Chester. The second half he wrote the day after that concert and when he says "I almost lost it in the middle of a couple songs" is because he had to sing most of Chesters parts during that concert.
The way he expresses his feelings through lyrics/songs is not everyone can do perfectly.
You can hear the pain in his voice.
His passion and love for music is genuine.
Mad Respect 👍🏻
Not necessary to apologize for not checking this out earlier, you are going through LP's music in chronological order and that's probably the best way to do it
Linkin Park is so meaningful, when I first started I did it with in the end, what got me in the fandom. Found it on Iheart radio. I am now a super fan that has 10 t shirts, five albums, 50 songs, and what my therapist classifies as an ‘unhealthy obsession’ I just know a lot about what I love, Linkin Park is my favorite band and I love all the songs. So meaningful, so well written, and so enjoyable.
@@DJ-io9mv
It can be called that by ur therapist ,But only we as Linkin Park soldiers understand this love..
Yes, we are a family and a wonderful one.
the more I listen to linkin park the more it hurts to think of chester
Same 😭😭😭
If you listen it too enough it will help you. I listen to his current album and it’s helped me a lot.
Same yo
I really love your profile picture
thank you
Chester Bennington for life
Chester Bennington for ever
I've said it before, I'll say it again. They were friends for 21 years. They were as much brothers as my sister, who has been a family 'friend' for 22 years. I don't know what I'd do if I lost her! I fully feel for Mike.
18 years
I love Linkin Park, and mike. This song always makes me cry. He describes things so good that i really can understand what he went through. we all lost an incredible artist. Chester was a beautiful man,
The first half of the song was written the day of the concert for Chester, and the second half was written the day after. This song really reveals how hard everything was on Mike at that time. #RIPChester #fuckdepression #makechesterproud
Realest reaction you've ever put up! Keep it going, brah!
you can hear the progessive emotions on this album, which is insane talent, 'place to start is hopeless sounding, this song is tension/denial and anger, the next song, watching as i fall is straight up defiant anger, and my fav song of the album, so worth the listen!
Fun Fact about this song
1st verse was written the morning of the Tribute concert for Chester.
2nd verse was written directly after the show.
You need to watch Linkin Park and /friends: Celebrate Life in Honor of Chester Bennington. It's too long to react to it but it's connected with this song so much that you will understand it better then. Also Mike sang there a song witch was played only at that show and that was the first song he wrote after Chester death "Looking for an Answer"
Just wach the show it will make you understand all Post Traumatic album better
He could react to it in a live stream
He said he'll react to the concert when he finishes reacting to all the other linkin park albums.
Your best reaction yet! Glad you understand mike's perspective, can't wait for you to hear the rest of the album! It gets better and better
That chester's voice echo❤💔
Fahad it isn't Chester. In most of the songs of LP Mike singed as a support to Chester's vocals which were the mainstreams of the songs, but it sounded so good that it seems that it is Chester.
@@jaredvr3065, it IS Chester's voice. It seems it's a sample from a song Chester sang, "Final Masquerade". Mike didn't "singed", he sang as a co-vocalist, but he mostly rapped. He has a distinctly different tone than Chester. Peace.
@@detectivekornfed it is NOT Chester's voice. Mike even confirmed that on twitter
On 8th of January, there will be a song released by Mike Morton, and the song is sung by Chester! I hope you'll react to it. I already heard it, and it's amazing!
R.I.P. Chester. Always in our hearts.
The day I heard about Chester’s passing, I cried for 2 weeks. Linkin Park was the one group that helped me through my darkest times. They were my favorite group. Still are. Mike’s whole post traumatic album is all about Chester. R.I.P. Chester Bennington!!!!❤️❤️
You gotta check out What the Words Meant and Prove You Wrong!
Amazing song. My Favorite album of all time too. I would just say one thing, you should go in the order that the album goes because it was meant to be a journey through emotions after chester passed away. Kinda like a timeline you could say
This song will get a deeper meaning when you will watch the tribiute show for Chester.. it's already crazy, but it'll be so much hard to listen after the tribiute show :(
#makechesterproud #ripchester #legendswilllifeinourheartsforever
Never apologize for your reactions. They are always sincere and honest.
Saying goodbye over and over again is about Mike being constantly reminded about Chester. Be it remembering him, be it somebody talking about him or sending Mike his condolences, or be it hearing a Linkin Park song on the radio. Everytime Mike remembered Chester, he had to say his goodbye to him, because it reminded him that Chester passed away. The chorus was also inspired by the rehearsing for the show. The band had to learn playing their songs without Chester in them (some songs had different variations, some songs that were never played before were debuted and some songs had to change a key for example to fit the guest singer). Mike feared the show, because he thought that he could be overwhelmed at any point, forcing him to not continue. He didn't want to disappoint the guests who came out to sing and play with them, the fans who came from all around the world and millions of people who were watching the show from their homes.
"Not doing it the same way as before" is simply about going to play the tribute show and playing it differently. Playing the songs without Chester.
"All the sudden you hear what I said a hundred ways before" is about Linkin Park lyrics. Both Chester and Mike sang and rapped about Chester's problems and some people still didn't hear it, or didn't hear everything, or didn't understand. After Chester passed, many people started pointing out LP lyrics about depression, addiction, suicidal thoughts, etc., that they didn't notice before.
"My whole life's working hanging in the fucking balance" shows Mike's fear about the future of his career. Because not only he lost his close friend, he also lost the lead singer of his band, singer who's irreplacable, a person that Mike build his whole career with (not counting Fort Minor and his art career, which were obviously both financed and promoted by Linkin Park). Mike wasn't sure what's coming, what he's gonna do. It's like if you owned a company with your best friends, and one of them would pass away and the whole company would have to stop working. Yeah, you'd still be getting money from what you produced already, but you'd have nothing to do.
The verses have interesting story behind them. Mike wrote and recorded the first verse on the day they played the tribute show for Chester, just before leaving home to go to Hollywood Bowl. He then wrote and recorded the second verse the day after the show.
The car alarm and Mike saying "Come on" actually wasn't staged or sampled in any way. As Mike was recording the song, a car alarm outside was triggered and was audible on Mike's microphone, which really annoyed him.
The song was first released in January 2018 as a part of Post Traumatic EP and by most, was considered the best song on the EP (and based on views, it was also the most popular).
The video was shot in a similar fashion as the one for A Place To Start. The video parts for first and second verse were also shot on the day each verse was written and recorded. The video was again shot and edited by Mike himself. He didn't want perfect shots for the video, he wanted to make it as raw as possible. Because of that, he didn't use a professional camera (or any actual camera for that matter), but camera on his phone. He actually joked that he intentionally used the front camera, which is the worse one on his phone.
Same as other songs on the EP, Mike released official instrumentals and acapellas for free downloads for fans to compete in a remix contest.
Mike played the song already on his very first solo show. The previous song on the setlist called About You (another song from Post Traumatic album) transitioned into Over Again and the ending of Over Again was mashed up with Papercut. Later, even before he hired a band to tour with him, Mike decided to cut first verse and one chorus from the song and the song has remained in that form as standard part of his sets. The reason for that was later revealed, as Mike said there are songs that are simply too hard to play for him after what happened. It included Breaking The Habit (which, even as one of LP's most popular and stable live songs, wasn't played on the tribute show), Leave Out All The Rest, Given Up (not sure on that one), One More Light and first verse of Over Again.
please do the rest of Mike Shinoda's Music Videos for Post Traumatic
I forget how emotional this song get I was crying during this

Chester was a good man. he was genuine and had a big heart.. he will be missed. RIP Chester. LP soldier for life.
this song is about the hollywood bowl show they did to celebrate chester’s life... it’s 3 hours long and on youtube... you should check it out... don’t have to react to it but you’ll enjoy it
You should watch a video were Mike gives a ticket to a person who lost it (i think) he is sooooo kind
Bro...I found you with the NF reactions and it was cool and all but never thought I would hear you say the things about Chester like you do now. Chester was always seen to melike an older brother to me. I was young, impressionable, with all the backstage videos of him and the music, being something that's been there since the cradle. I broke when he died. Thanks for honoring him, dude. Thanks for being real and coming to understand why people had felt the same way. #RIPCHESTER #MAKECHESTERPROUD
RIP Mr. Chester Bennington 😢😢
The whole fucking album made me cry when I first listened to it. It also fits my sort of persona and original character, DJ. Mike expresses his pure hurt through Post Tramatic, in a way where we still enjoy it. I have to say my favorite song is either Crossing A Line or Ghosts, so upbeat but lyrics so meaningful. Linkin Park lives through him, and a thing he hasn’t done to the fandom is disappoint us. He is a really talented artist, my second favorite actually. My favorite will always be Chester, May he Rest In Peace and live on in our hearts.
It's honestly quite sad that now some people are saying that Mike was not really friends with Chester. When you look at this song it's honestly quite obvious that he loved him, that he was his friend, that he was truly fucked up for a few months. #ripchester
This was about the Hollywood bowl and how he was going though this. This song got me through what I was going through. Hold It Together and Promises I Can't Keep are my Two top favorite songs on the album.
RIP CHESTER NO ONE CAN FILL THE HOLE THAT YOU LEFT💔
You absolutely have to do this album in order of play, it's a diary of emotions throughout the track list and it's sharing his thoughts and feelings with everyday life and coping with grief from the passing of Chester through the weeks and months that followed, it's probably one of the most emotional albums out there! Great reaction as always man!
It's hard when they leave a part of themselves in a song. Makes them better though
I don't know if you already know or if someone already said it, but the first part of this song was written before the Hollywood bowl show and the second part after it!
Mike wrote a song especially for this tribute concert...only played and sang this once, and for me it's the one of few songs that i can actually listen to from that show, almost nobody impressed me singing Chester's parts...it was just sad, and ok Chester didn't sound that good live when you check the videos from 2017 shows...but still, maybe he wasn't well, maybe just tired, maybe the sound was bad, cause i've been at their concert on their last tour and for me Chester sounded amazing. And this last song he created with Mark Morton...pure legend. Peace and good luck on your channel
Rip Chester Bennington
I freaking love that song so freaking much. This song gives so much emotions in it.
Chester will and always be remembered as a awesome person and a legend that will live on in our hearts forever!!!! #Ripchester

Over Again was just the beginning. When he wrote it there was such a dark mood almost everywhere, the kind of mood that there's when it come to lose a loved one, and I appreciate that Mike wrote this song.
But what I really appreciate is what comes after Over Again, all the Post Traumatic experience: the EP, the album, the tour. Mike managed to take an heartbroken Fanbase and help it go through the process, and we came from deep pain to pure happiness and joy. Go see some Post Traumatic shows, they're something wonderful ❤️
I've been a LP fan since the release of "One Step Closer." Chester was only a few years older than me. I relate to so many of their lyrics. I'd been listening to them since I was in my early 20's. I love a lot of different bands, from multiple genres, but LP, man, especially Chester, that's my shit, you know? He's my boy. I felt his death on such a personal level. Never before in my life has an artist's death hit me like that. I'd have been devastated either way, but it's the fact that it was suicide. It's the fact that he held on for as long as he could, and just couldn't do it anymore. I mean, when your hero's gone, where do you go? I'm crying so hard even typing this. I LOVE this album. I love Mike so much, and have such respect for him. He poured his fucking heart and soul into this album, which is EASILY the best album to come out during my lifetime. So raw, so emotional, so real, so beautiful and touching. This entire album is just amazing.
🖤
Dude you need to hear Nothing Makes Sense Anymore... Thank you for all those amazing reactions
Anyone one who heard Chester voice is missing him now. But his sound and life live in our hearts now.
I think the intro is fantastic. You can really hear the frustration when he says "come on", over something that usually wouldn't be that bad, but his emotional state is that wrecked, the smallest things can tip you over.
Also, I highly recommend to anyone listening to this song for the first time to listen to Place To Start first. Especially when it comes to the 'we were calling, we were checking in'.
Oh and just think that when a performer loses a co-performer, every time the do a performance again, sing a song about that person, answer a fan's question, dedicate something to them, they have to say goodbye over and over and over. They can't have their grieving time and move on like the rest of us, it is constantly brought back up, whether by fans, or locations, or thoughts...
I 'm crying, Doctor Flowz. :'v
The day before Chester's passing I was at work at a late shift and I was telling a friend how great Linkin Park was, how they are real they ralk about real problems, real situations and don't talk about being big or just flexing. The nest day when Chester actually died I got the new through a text saying he killed himself. I was stunned. The intire day I was just emotionless. Anything else bad that happend that day I didn't care about. Linkin Parks music used to just fully give me strong power and hope. Now it brings back memories and helps me think and concentrate. Anyways this is my experience with Chester's death. I hope Chester is in heaven looking down at us and is as proud as he can be for Mike.
I was there for the show, it was such an emotional night, this track really speaks for how many of us in the crowd were feeling that night. I lost it 3 times then, and still do rewatching it
RIP to the amazing and wonderful Chester B.
I dont know if you knew this when you reacted to the tribute show but the entire band had Chester's voice playing along with every song that they performed in their ear pieces. I cant even imagine how hard that must have been for them not only for the live performance but every rehearsal as well... i mean just had to be torture for them. M shadows from avenged sevenfold I believe talked about it in an interview, either him or one of the system of a down guys did. Anyways yeah that's why ud hear Chester's voice occasionally during the show too. ❤
Finally you react to the song. The anger and pain of Mike it's so real. You must see the tribute concert for Chester.
I’m kind of a new subbie to you (I’m a Linkin Park fan), and I just wanted to say that you have a beautiful soul. You have no idea how much it means that a hip-hop fan like yourself respects and loves the LP guys like many of us have for almost 20 years. You’re awesome and thank you for supporting Mike!
I wrote to Mike Shinoda a while back, maybe a few months ago, explaining my story and how it makes me feel. It sucks balls, I suffer from hydrocephalus, I’ve had it since birth, and it hurts like hell, my head’s spinning, I feel weak, I feel helpless, I feel like shit.
Mike still hasn’t responded back to me, but I get it, he’s busy and I get it. Even if he doesn’t respond back, at least I told him everything.
Rest in peace. Chester
We love you Mike Shinoda❤️❤️😍
Much respect to you for giving LP a chance, and truly understanding how much us fans really loved LP and the message in the music. Never be another band like them, or a voice like Chester Bennington! #Ripchester
Definitely do Make It Up As I Go. This song is what I’m currently feeling on my grief journey.
He is the real one and you are not the only one who could or can see it. I have always liked him. From first time I listened to Linkin Park for so many years ago. Actually since In the End was released on MTV back in the days.
R.I.P. Chester Bennington
When I first heard it I broke down so badly at the "only my life's work hanging in the fucking balance" part..
He recorded this video before going to the show, you can tell he has the same clothes
I completely understand what Mike is going thru, this album rocked me to my core!! I lost my 15 yr old son to suicide about 10 months before Chester passed. The emotional roller coaster is something I wouldn't wish ANYONE!!!
I think what Mike means by over and over is every time he says it... It's when he feels he is okay. But he finds himself feeling a sense of deja vu and falling back into the grief as we all do when we lose our closest. Even his entire album's momentum is like this. A rollercoaster of emotions if you will. The first few songs are sad but lighten up here and there for a track or two then dip again on another track. This album is brilliant as it is very very moving. I can't face this album or the final LP album one more light without feeling empty... Feeling the void left behind from Chester being gone. Linkin park has kept me from committing suicide many times in the beginning years and it pains me so much to see Chester gone forever.
PLEASE Im begging u to listen to One More Light album at least before going further!! Then tribute concert.
"I'm not gonna apologize, FUCK THAT" I love that bro great video
This song and "Nothing Makes Sense Anymore" are my favorite off this album
8:00 people you describing is known as selfish and maybe to young to understand
“An everybody is like wow. Must be really hard to figure what to do now. Well Thankyou genius you think it’ll be a challenge? Only my life’s work hanging in the fucking balance”.... this isn’t my favourite song but that is the best line I’ve ever heard in any song ever. That line is amazing.
Rest in peace Chester, I'm honoured to have seen one of your last shows. You were a mad man on the stage. ✊
Guy. Thanks so much for this. Mike is a legend. It’s amazing to see his love. I’m a few years off. Just thanks Bro!
Mike standing in the sound booth at the beginning where Chester used to record his singing still fucks me up big time.
Rip Chester!
It was only after listening to post traumatic that I could listen to Linkin Park again. Their music got me through my late teens. I know what it's like for your head to be in a bad place. Chester was such a positive influence for me, he'll forever be missed and loved.
Rest In Peace Chester
Rest in pease Chester Charles Bennington❤️
I started following Shinoda shortly after Chester passed, starting with Fort Minor, and then onto "Post-traumatic" when it came out. He really became one of my all time favorites. I think I like "Lift off" the best, maybe because of his collap with Chino Moreno. It's a great match I think. Also, his remix of Deftones' "passenger" is pretty cool.
Chester's death almost killed me... and this wonderful man saved my life more than I can count... Fuck.... I'll never forgive Chester, he's my hero, legend and savior.

Rip chester. He saved my life and thousand other lifes but nobody could save him. I miss him so much.
There’s an underrated song that you’d probably like by linkin park called ‘blackbirds. But I warn you, it’s VERY depressing, even more so in retrospect. It came out in 2014 and it’s a hidden gem. What’s really dark about the song is that nowadays it comes off as another of Chester’s cries for help. I seriously cried when I heard it first, and that was back in 2018. I highly recommend it but be prepared to possibly cry or be depressed for the rest of the day when you first hear. I guarantee that you’ll probably think about Chester’s death and his mindset after the first listen. Afterwards it becomes a sad yet beautiful song.
R.I.P CHESTER WE ALL MISS YOU

Watching as i fall next. Mike spits fire on this one.
If poetry was music, Mike is Shakespeare. In my opinion.

You should watch the tribute concert he's talking about in this track. I'd say react to it, but it's 2 hours long. It's a gorgeous show, perfection.
I FUCKING LOVE YOU MAN ❤️ WHY CANT MORE PEOPLE LISTEN TO MIKE
He is talking about"celebrating life with chester" it's a beautiful event... U should check it once...probably the only rockstar for whom all the big rockstars came just to sing his song. :)
if you want to hear someone emotionally wrecked...this song is for you.
The first time I saw the video and heard the song for Over Again, it was a Thursday and I was taking a five minute break between seeing patients. Hardest thing I've done for some time was pretending like I hadn't been sobbing my heart out seconds earlier.
This is totally different from Mike/LP, but I feel like you should check out Nightwish "Ghost Love Score" Live at Wacken 2013. I think you'll be impressed!
