  • This video is a reaction video surrounding the topic of the German Football League. The season came to a conclusion last week and this video is a recount of my experiences. I talk about things you should know if you want to make this move as well as the important question of whether or not it was worth it.
    I still am very thankful to the Berlin Rebels and everything they have done for me. My time spent in Berlin was very memorable and an experience I will always cherish.

    As a german i find this video very interesting. Just for Americans looking at the GFL as an option I'll have to add something to your point of having an easy transition from the US to Germany. You played in Berlin, which can be really different from other German cities or towns. I think the transition period and day to day life can be way different depending on where you're going to live. Not all of Germany is as americanised as Berlin. But i would still advise everyone considering playing in Germany to definitely do it. All Americans i know really love Germany 😁

    I love how we call it Football in America but when we go anywhere else in the world we call it American Football.
    Hello from NRW Germany.
    The GFL isn't the only American Football league in Germany. It's the only Professional league but there are many semi pro leagues in Germany as well as other countries in the EU. I used to play for the Lippstadt Eagles a few years back. They are a semi pro team, we won the league in our first year as an official team. I have sense retired do to back issues but loved it while I was still able to play even if it was just a semi pro team.
    Big difference is things don't open till 8am for most stores and close between 9pm and 10pm and almost everything is closed on Sundays.

      Hello! And yes I know it definitely is weird but makes sense knowing that people in the EU refuse to call "Football" Soccer lol

    So what you think the of overseas football (Europe, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Australia etc) vs arena football (IFL,NAL,CIF etc ) and the pros and cons of both.

    • @DeeWade
      @DeeWade  2 года назад +4

      My impression was definitely a positive one. Taking that route is a viable option. Depending on your position arena ball isn't a bad option you can stay in the states, play against some quality talent, and have the flexibility to work and do other things while you play. So definitely some positives but the main pro-con difference between playing overseas and playing arena is that one is traditional rules football and the other is 8 on 8 indoor ball. So in terms of getting film, it is not as useful. Not to mention playing arena you won't have the chance to live in another country for free and play the sport you love. For example, there's a team that plays in Cancun Mexico. That's one of the biggest vacation spots for Americans and you could get flown out and stay there for 6 months for free.

      @@DeeWade Agree and IMO playing in Europe top levels is the much better choice over arena ball. Playing in Europe is a life changing experience for import Americans and good football with talented Americans and Europeans. Not only in the GFL but Austrian Football League, Italian Football League, Maple League Finland etc. These leagues are long established and have had import American players and coaches for 40 + years. Many good American coaches and great living in another country and traveling. Pay increases as you prove yourself. Awesome overall.

      @@toddhendricks2078 Thats a great take. Yes I agree it was an awesome experience and a great alternative to arena ball. But now with the XFL and USFL its good to see there are more options to play ball.🙏

    So which level D2?

    • @DeeWade
      @DeeWade  2 года назад +1

      I would say it's more like D1AA or Low D1. Especially because every team has quality American and international players so it increases the level of competition.
