  • In September 2023 Siamrat took the train from Luang Prabang, Laos, up to Kunming in Yunnan, China. This video show you what to expect if you are planning to make this journey. Yunnan is a fascinating province a bit off the beaten track for Western tourists. Taking the train from Laos is a great option for visiting the area (You can get on the train in Vientiane also, adding just under 2hrs to the total journey time).

Cool video. Amazing that you can do this and looks really comfortable. Now to make it even more so, they need to somehow speed up the immigration processes. Would be awesome to be able to do the trip in one smooth go.

Cool. Hope in the future the immigration and customs clearance would be easier, that will save a lot of time

I like this video. Do you need to apply visa in advance or there is visa on arrival in the train?

Hi, it depends on your passport/nationality. Most western tourists (Like myself) must apply for a visa before arriving in China. No visa on arrival.

This is impossible because the border is in the tunnel

Unless the Laos wanna give up part of sovereignty😂 which is not likely to happen.

@@Alex_k_Q nah, just like north america, you can work on the other side of border, that way passenger only need to go thru all the paperwork on same station once and make every thing fast and efficient

@@redhongkong that’s because Canada has no sovereignty and the US has no need to respect Canada at all lmao
