    The dials are pretty slick, I do have to say - that's an effective rig for cutting them accurately. As for the taper collets, that would definitely make the setup more rigid. Rigidity in smaller machines like ours can sometimes be a challenge, we need every advantage we can get!

      Gday, I couldn’t believe the difference the MT3 collet made, I’m really thinking of getting a full set.

    Enjoyed watching the dividing set up in action. Nice move using a MT3 collet in your
    mill spindle for rigidity. The boring head works great Matty, well impressive great job. Tony

    Nice demo Matty you've made it look easy. I'll have to have a go at this some time soon. I can imagine being able to make micrometer dials is a big game changer for toolmaking especially.

    I love my mt3 collets. You can pick up a set on ebay for under 100 bucks (with reasonable shipping lol). Was getting real tired of making mt3 endmill holders (even made an actual collet once lol). They've been an absolute game changer for me. Thanks for the share! Cheers 👍😁👍

    How is your lathe handle set up? Expanding arbor in the spindle bore? I made something similar for my old lathe. I forgot about it one day and fired up the lathe, and boy did I get a scare!

    • @MattysWorkshop
      @MattysWorkshop  4 года назад

      Thanks Tommy, your spot on it’s just a simple expanding arbor, works really well, the lathes always unplugged when it’s in, it would hurt if it got ya that’s for sure...
