Thanks for the up-date. Very useful information.
Gday Steve, thanks mate
Hi Matty, The divisions came out really well and it was good to see the boring head in action. Well done, nice tool. Regards Kevin
Thanks Kevin, I really happy with how it all turned out, a lot of work but well worth the effort, take care mate
Good to see it working well . The collets are the go for holding stuff on a small machine . Cheers .
Thanks Max, the collet made the world of difference
The dials are pretty slick, I do have to say - that's an effective rig for cutting them accurately. As for the taper collets, that would definitely make the setup more rigid. Rigidity in smaller machines like ours can sometimes be a challenge, we need every advantage we can get!
Gday, I couldn’t believe the difference the MT3 collet made, I’m really thinking of getting a full set.
Yes, you did a beautiful job on that boring head. When I make mine I can only hope I do it justice as you did with your build.🤙
Thanks Chui, I’m sure you will do a nice job with yours, if I can make one anyone can...
Wow great update thanks for sharing.
Thanks Sam
Enjoyed watching the dividing set up in action. Nice move using a MT3 collet in your
mill spindle for rigidity. The boring head works great Matty, well impressive great job. Tony
Thanks Tony, the MT3 collet made all the difference, really nice to use now..
Good demo mate thanks 👍
Thanks Jason
Very nice Matty
Thanks mate
very cool nice to know how to do this thanks matty
No worries Joseph, I was hoping this would help everyone out
always on top of it,. awesome video
Thanks Emma
Very good demo Matty...
Thanks Paul
G’day Matty. Where there’s a will there’s a way, you’re dialing up the skill set.
Cheers
Peter
Thanks Peter, I learnt a lot for this project, the skills got stretched to the limits on the build
You did a awesome job I hope I could make mine as good and as Easy as yours
Gday Dave, if I can make one anyone can mate, give it a go....
Nice demo Matty you've made it look easy. I'll have to have a go at this some time soon. I can imagine being able to make micrometer dials is a big game changer for toolmaking especially.
Thanks Craig, at least I know if I need to made dials of anything I have half an idea how to do it now, definitely a game changer...
@@MattysWorkshop Give me a bell if you need any more divisions or anything else drawn up. Happy to see the results going into such a beautiful tool :)
Thanks mate,
I love my mt3 collets. You can pick up a set on ebay for under 100 bucks (with reasonable shipping lol). Was getting real tired of making mt3 endmill holders (even made an actual collet once lol). They've been an absolute game changer for me. Thanks for the share! Cheers 👍😁👍
Thanks, I’m surely going to keep an look out for a set of MT 3 collets, great to have.
Engine build next mate can’t wait
You got the pressure on me now mate😂, I have toyed with the idea...
Great set-up Matt, excellent technique.
Thanks for sharing. John.
Thanks very much John, very simple setup and worked better then I expected.
That took some thought Matty!
Gday Tom, few sleepless nights involved mate but got there in the end
Clear demo on cutting the graduations, it's obviously a tool to be proud of. Cheers.
Thanks Paul, certainly proud of how it turned out, definitely put my skill level to the test....
Good work Matty
How is your lathe handle set up? Expanding arbor in the spindle bore? I made something similar for my old lathe. I forgot about it one day and fired up the lathe, and boy did I get a scare!
Thanks Tommy, your spot on it’s just a simple expanding arbor, works really well, the lathes always unplugged when it’s in, it would hurt if it got ya that’s for sure...
Simple and effective Matty - what more could you want ;) Cheers Rob
Simple is always the best way Rob,
Hi Matty great info, you got a link for the Collet?
Gday Robbie, here’s a link to the collet mate, www.ebay.com.au/itm/303466108437, I hope I’ve done it right,
@@MattysWorkshop Thanks mate take care p.s this Virus is scary? very resilient
just emailed you Matty
Thanks mate
So tell me mate how many nights did you lay in bed thinking how the hell am i going to do that ???
I look at some of the things i have made and still think how the hell did i do that !
Just remember - every time you use that boring head you need to say to yourself "I made that "!
good work Matty !
Gday Ian, quite a few nights went by that’s for sure, it’s always nice when you use something that you made yourself, very satisfying mate
Hi Matty do you want some V BLOCK PLANS? I FORGOT YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS
Gday Robbie, that would be great thanks, ttmrj@telstra.com Cheers
