Thats not true. Have you tried to remove their watermark? It is not simple as you see in the video. Their watermarks consist if shadows, lines, and two colors. so there is no way you can remove it easily.

I think this only works with transparent text. For the completely opaque ones, there is no way PS would be able to identify what pixels lie below it

This trick only work if watermark is slightly transparent. So you can do a different watermarks to secure your work.

I find the easiest way to remove a watermark is to pay the photographer for his photos
Paying 5$ for a picture < spending 5 minutest deleting watermark. Can't beat piracy, deal with it

@user-qb2ef9ld3s solved by distinctly using my initials in different styles merged with the art work, pretty much good luck in tryna repare it closley to the originals. no matter how good you people try to make it easier to commit theivery we always find a solution to avoid these problems

Use completely opaque watermarks if you want to not have that issue. But keep in mind someone is going to be able to even complete the art themselves if they REALLY want to steal your art. So just don't worry about it that much, opaque watermarks if you want to be safe. Artists gotta help each other mate ;D
It's about understanding the message and clearly most people misunderstood it. Do NOT put the watermark on the background or the transparent place otherwise they can remove it BUT keep it on the model/whatever is shown alone and they can't remove it.

Please don't do this guys, by removing the watermark from images that means image is gonna be used without owner's permission, you can get into big trouble if you do this and use the image. Your id could also be banned in the platform where you'll be uploading this if it got owner's attention and if they report it, as this act is considered as theft.

Yeah but there's a difference between copy+pasting a monkey and copy+pasting a hat for the monkey in photoshop - possibly even not by a human hand and just automated with a robot and getting more than 1 million, and using a 3000$ camera, getting people to actually pose for the photo, taking thr right photo with the right pose, right lighting and right camera filter and then paying that person for how much time they've spent doing it, then you gotta edit the photo to fix and add small details to get 50$ in return.

I did this today on a logo I made from a freebie site, but had watermark all over it when I tried to download. It asked me to pay monthly which is ridiculous. Im willing to pay a one time fee because thats all I need it for. So for those artists who are asking for a exorbitant monthly fee, think again and reconsider people like me who just needs the service once. I didnt want to steal it, but you gave me no choice.

I have my own solution, but it isnt as easy as this. Also to further improve on that, you can use the want tool to select the individual letters and get the same result as the beginning; in case the image isnt as clean as this.

Make watermarks with a quite noticable global noise and slighly not monochrome... so no individual watermark from white bacground won't fit to another on the same background not even trying overlaying on some object.
Method from video would lead to ugly very noisy areas where watermarks was and good luck to photoshop out that areas and still getting good photos on output... even with AI.

This is just a poorly watermarked photograph. The data for each pixel color under the watermark isn't fully erased, it just has some simple math done to it to turn it grayer. This math can easily be done in reverse to get the exact color of the pixel in the original photo. A good watermark would do something to the color that leaves no clues behind to what the original color of the pixel was, such as turning it to a color that is independent of the original photo (eg use the same grey color code for all pixels in the text)

Okay so this isn't necessarily fake, but it is staged. The only way for this to work is exactly 50% opacity black text, which no real watermarks use. Additionally the amount of compression on the image would ruin the effect even if it was. There are ways to effectively remove watermarks, but this is not it.
You know... People will use this and photographers/ artists/ models will not get credit for it
This only works on solid bgs so don't worry, we have our own ways to dodge it (putting the watermark somewhere so it's not that visible to the naked eye yet not that easy to simply erase without it looking odd for example - I do this a lot - bonus tip if it's a multicoloured watermark)
This works ONLY if watermark piece is taken from the layer with solid color background (white - as it shown in the video).

Copyright won’t catch me b**ch! I sell drugs and earn tons of cash. I actually took the breaking bad recipe and just stole it. Of course i had to fill in some gaps that were left out in the show.
