We have just returned ourselves from our first time ever trip to New York in January. It was fabulous. Watching your videos bring back such awesome memories for us however, minus the freezing cold 😊. It's been an eye opener for us seeing some things that we missed out on in your videos and now we can plan for another trip again sometime in the not too distant future, to do those things we did not see or ha e time for. Thank you for such wonderful videos. We loved watching.
Just binged watched all of your New York videos, I’m so glad I’m came across your channel! Going to New York in April and your videos have made me super excited! Great content
A big thank you Shawn for yet another wonderful landmark video of Brooklyn bridge and surroundings. You took your time and diligently shown the plaques of history. I wish it was a better day with a bit of sunshine. However your eloquent commentary made up for that. I have seen other videos of Brooklyn bridge and personally crossed the bridge in a taxi. Yours is unique and I like it. Your Mancunian connection made me happy as I spent 4 years as student in that multicultural lovely city. You gave good description and history of Janes carousel and surrounding regenerated Dumbo. If I ever go back to New York I shall cover Brooklyn bridge on foot. Your wrapping up with night view is fantastic. I am hooked to your channel, where next ? Regards
Great set of videos from New York. I’ve watched them all as they have been uploaded. Me and my wife have booked to visit New York in December for a week. Never been before but these videos have been fantastic for tips of what to do and see. Thanks very much!
Shawn, these have been amazing videos from New York. Long live AdventureShawn. Great stuff and real dedication to showing us the very best from your trip.
Thanks Shawn for an amazing series of vlogs! You've given me so much inspiration, so much so that I have begun planning my own trip there once the world opens up again. You're very entertaining and your videos brighten my every evening alone infront of the computer.
themepark worldwide is spectacular !! Man oh man i didn't think you could ever top that channel but you did!! Thank you soooo very much i'll never ever get to go to new york in my life but now i have!! all your videos are out of this world ! i really enjoy both of your channels ! Keep it up !!
I’ve just binge watched your New York playlist because I go on Wednesday. It’s always been one of my dreams and I thought watching your videos might ruin it for me but all they’ve done is made me even more excited to go an explore the beautiful city that is New York!!
Have watched new york vlogs for about a year now and by far yours have been the best. Have watched all of your New york ones and even watched this one twice. Good job Shawn
The Brooklyn Bridge was my favourite one you would think they would put a fence up between the bike Lane and the pedestrian Lane because it's easy to just walk over thick white line when you're looking about
Hey Shawn, I'm glad you popped up on youtube's suggestions. I live in NY, about an hour north, outside the city. You have shown me things I've never seen. Now I have to make some new trips down. Thank you for your videos. If you do make it back and want a second camera person, let me know. :)
Fun fact about Janes Carousel, it was located in an amusement park which was inside a Metro Park that was created by the same man who designed much of Central Park (Volney Rogers) also the amusement park this carousel came from (Idora Park) was also the same park that the Warner Brothers started their motion picture careers. Thanks for this and many more of your enjoyable videos, appreciate the great content you create.
Great footage Shawn. Been to NY 3 times. Love the city!! I was so close to that Carousel yet did not know about it. Awesome!! We drove on the Brooklyn & George Washington Bridges. Will definately do the walk next time. Thanks again for all the great footage & info. NY is an awesome place!! 🇱🇷
That ferry boat you saw moving quite fast around 32:10 was the Seastreak! A high-speed commuter ferry with a few different terminals in New Jersey! I took the one from Highlands when I was a kid, and it's one awesome way to get into Manhattan!
Finally got around to watching the whole vlog and really enjoyed it! Your comments at the end were especially meaningful to someone who's trying to get out more but finds it challenging due to anxiety. Thank you.
Just come back from my second trip to New York a couple of weeks ago. These videos are a great reminder of what an amazing place it is. Thanks for bringing my memories back to life. Great effort.
Fantastic NY videos! I'm going in March and this one with the walk back over Brooklyn Bridge with them views has got us really excited. So informative and great to watch we can't wait to visit! Thank you & keep up the great work 👍😊
Stuck at home in rural Iowa during a global pandemic, I'm really enjoyed living vicariously through your travels Shawn. Just finished this NYC playlist I'd really like to visit the city someday soon. Thanks for the great videos. Be well, and stay safe during this global crisis!
Looks like you had a charmed time in NYC Chauncey. I mean Shawn, of course! Could that bridge crossing have gone any better? I think they knew you were coming. Your fascination with the fake snow, along with the old train tracks (which you actually followed) was precious. Mr Neary, I envy you.
Really loved your videos Shawn, we are headed to NYC for first time in August, your videos have been so helpful, especially showing all three observatory towers and seeing the difference. Thanks so much, happy travels
Absolutely loved watching your visit to New York me and my partner Michelle watched it all over last few days absolutely brilliant loved every minute of it thank you so much it's just been an amazing video to watch cant thank you enough, just one last thing to say my friend you have inspired us 2 to have wait for it ... our own adventures 👍👍👍😍
Great video have watched all your NYC series it’s brilliant I’m going for the first time on my own to NYC next month and your videos have been a great help 🙂👍🏻
Shawn, I have learnt more about New York in your videos, than any other vlogs... You are such a down to earth guy, and your commentary is awesome... A Huge THANK YOU for taking the time and showing us your amazing Adventures In New York.. We honestly felt as if we were with you on this Awesome Trip.. 👍🤚👏👏
Superb series of vids Shawn. You just missed the classic ‘Once Upon a time in America’ view of the Manhattan Bridge at Washington St and Water St when you were at the old tracks. There’s a Shake Shack down there also.. best burgers ever!! Other than that you nailed it 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thier used too be trolleys that ran along the walking path of the Brooklyn bridge. Just about every bridge in NYC carries a subway or rail transit of some sort at one point
Thank you for sharing these great tours. I discovered your channel today. One of my obervations; I noticed you did not cross paths with local law enforcement. Please stay safe, and well, Everyone!
Am I the only one disapointed Shawn didn't get the nod for best supporting actor at the academy awards for his role as lad in a grey coat holding a camera?
Did you ask someone what they were filming? I'm curious to know if they were filming for 'Blue Bloods'. I'm so homesick now! Born and raised in NYC and I miss it so much. It's not like it used to be. So much has changed. Thank you so much for these videos. I just happened onto them and I'm so glad I did. I have to watch the rest of them - especially the ESB. All the years we lived there, my dad never took us to see anything so this is a real treat for me. :-)
Awesome video dude I’m going to New York later this year I’m definitely walking across Brooklyn bridge and checking out dumbo it look amazing I’ve really enjoyed your New York videos mate thank you
Great Video. Brooklyn bridge reminds me of the avon bridge in Bristol, where my brotheractually studies civil engineering at the university, maybe some day he'll design a bridge like this!
It’s great to walk across the Manhattan Bridge from Chinatown to Brooklyn then it’s only a 10 minute walk through Dumbo to the Brooklyn Bridge to walk back.
If you had gone one more block past the closed Squibb Bridge sign, you would have reached the Heights Promenade which also has fantastic views. Unfortunately, the bridge is going to be replaced due to the BQE reconstruction. Down by pier 6 you can get some great shots of Governor's Island, NJ, and Manhattan. If you turn left from the bridge and walked on Washington Street, you would have seen the most photographed places in Brooklyn and it goes right into the park. Great video, though, glad you had a good time. The Cafe has those lights all year round. They also have a little waterfall there in the summer. In the summer there's roller skating, free kayaking, volleyball, swimming, and more. Glad you enjoyed your trip. I enjoyed your New York videos.
TheSandbrookeAdventures….. just returning back to watch this video again. Excellent video, I have every intention of going to New York myself. Did you do a package deal? What recommendations would you have regarding spending money etc?
I first watched this series from your NYC trip during the spring pandemic lockdown. You inspired me enough to book a tentative trip out to New York City in July 2021. We're booking things with flexibility in mind, refundable, etc because this is all still pandemic-willing. If we've been vaccinated by then, we'll be hitting many/most of the sites you did in your 2019 visit.
DUMBO or D.UM.B.O as in "Down Under The Manhattan Bridge Overpass." S'been fully gentrified and developed for over a decade or more. Kind of stalled in its development, actually. A lot of good restaurants down there as well.
My daughter has been pestering me to take her to New York for 3 years and have kept putting it off. We are going in April and just watching these has been amazing so looking forward to it, and being a professional photographer I am going to be stuck of things to take.. Thank you for some excellent videos
Great video, Shawn! The suspension bridge that you were able to see in the distance as you were crossing the Brooklyn Bridge is the Verrazano Bridge. It was completed in 1964, connects Brooklyn to Staten Island in New York City, and was the longest suspension bridge in the world when it was completed. That means that it is longer than the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, which was completed in 1937. The Verrazano Bridge was named after an Italian explorer who, back in the 1500s, was the first explorer from Europe to sail into what was to become New York Harbor or Upper New York Bay. And the New York Marathon, which is held in November, starts on the Staten Island side of the Verrazano Bridge and ends in Central Park in Manhattan. The only time I have ever crossed the Brooklyn Bridge was in a limousine on Christmas Eve in 2016. My mother and I had decided to spend Christmas that year at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel across from Battery Park.
@City Life I really want to stay on roosevelt island I just think its a hidden gem it's so beautiful and peaceful yet so close to everything and the skyline looks so much nicer too... I don't know maybe it's a tourist illusion and being a resident of NYC I guess you do see it all and the perception of NYC and reality is much more different once your living there
@City Life I have never been to London I'm from Scotland but I think London is a beautiful place but NYC is calling me... Maybe 1 day.. I hope you enjoy London one day maybe post an upload of your trip
Hi shawn, what a great series these vlogs have been, lovely to see the film set too.and yes you are a film star already to us fans. Please do more of these type of vlogs in the future. Thanks Shawn for an amazing series of vlogs! You've given me so much inspiration, so much so that I have begun planning my own trip there once the world opens up again. You're very entertaining and your videos brighten my every evening alone infront of the computer.

Thank you. I booked everything separately!
Brilliant. Keep up the great work.
I googled what they were filming, and it might be for a tv series called Billions. The website I checked said they filmed it on Furman St
Prior to cars, the bridge carried trolleys, and then for a time, the first subway line in NYC.

Shawn where did you stay during your visit and would you recommend it or stay further out of manhattan
I stayed in the centre very close to Times Square
I stayed at Hotel Intercontinental Times Square. Great location. Highly recommend it.

Would love to!
World's first purpose built divided road (Dual Carriageway) I believe - correct me if I'm wrong, but there so much horse drawn traffic around 1886 that two roads were required on the bridge - one for each direction.

Enjoyed the series,NYC is the greatest city in the world. I see you are heading back in June,I highly recomend you book a helicopter flight,You wont regret it.
