Walking The High Line In New York City | Converted Disused Railroad!

  • In this video I check out the High Line in New York City, a former disused railroad that was transformed into an elevated linear park in 2009! The park runs from 34th street all the way to 14th street and features unique aerial views across the city as it passes through various different areas including the Meatpacking District.
The railway viaduct was abandoned in 1980 and work to create The High Line park started in 2006. In this video I talk more about the history of the High Line and walk all the way across it, starting from 34th street. I also take a look at some of the unique pieces of art that can be found along the High Line and share all of the fantastic views!

Where you came off at the end is the Meatpacking District and Chelsea, its a shame you didn't have a walk around. Its a great neighbourhood, with lots of interesting places. The Whitney Museum is well worth a visit too!

Looked like a cold, lonely walk. I love your boundless energy and enthusiasm.
    I couldn't do it, alone.

It's a shame that you didn't see it in the summer! The garden portions are usually filled with blooming flowers! You should definitely try to see it again in the summer.

I genuinely think you should upload this content to TPWW. Second channels will often not do as well, and I think your TPWW subs wouldn't mind one bit. They sub for you, not where you go. All this stuff is an attraction in some form anyway.

I like walking from 14th Street to 34th street because you walk right into the Hudson Yards development (which is going to be great when completely finished. Phase two is supposed to be finished this year. The Vessel at Hudson Yards is opening in March which is exciting. The performance arts center is opening this year too). Those stairs are going to be an observation deck actually. I am excited because I am on the list to get tickets to go in there. The tallest building there is 30 Hudson Yards which also has an observation deck and supposed to be opened this year as well. In the summer, all the flowers, grass, and trees are bloomed. Really pretty. Side note: Yes, driving in New York is a bitch, which is why I take the bus in. Yeah the subway system definitely needs improvement. I usually walk to most places unless I have to go downtown. Then I use the subway to get there. That's too far of a walk....lmao!! The place you walked into during the summer has vendors and people selling things. During the winter it's empty. The hotel that's there, people have to sign a waiver before staying there because of all the tourists and people taking pictures. Another great video.

All those buildings on the north end were constructed over the rail yard. Thats only phase 1 of three. 30 Hudson Yards is the tallest with the balcony being the one with the highest outdoor observation deck.

As a train geek, love this. The New York Subway is a dirty, smelly, dangerous feeling maze. Still some of the classic architecture in there is nice, really sad it's falling to pieces. A trip to Coney Island is worth it though to tick the Warriors fanboy moment off. When its open of course.
