As a gardener, I always appreciate when i am playing a game and I'm like, "ooh, basil." And it's actually basil. So often I play a game and it's obvious the developer has never encountered these plants before.
Game: "A recent tragedy killed off most of our native plants. If only people from the capital worked responsibly..." Splat: *Immediately starts clearcutting the forest*
To be honest, cutting some plants is very unlikely to eradicate entire plant populations. Much bigger threats are things like introducing new invasive species.
Clearcutting is a word we use for positively effecting wilderness you know... its when you toss out the old dead biomass to make room for new growth. Clearcutting is not bad.
When the clinic is shown, I was like: "Maybe your daughter would get better just by moving her to a clean bed in a clean environment." You can almost feel the infections waiting for you to touch any surface of that room.
yea, i played the demo and it reeks of unsanitary enviroment, i guess their potions are magical to cure everything, kinda lame you cant clean the place to start.
Now you mention it, it really ticks me off. His lodging already a mess, but the clinic isn't better than the lodging. I mean, that is the only healthcare facility in their whole island. Why they didn't take a better care of the place? That's a vital facility, you know.

I feel like splat unintentionally named the dog with some history there. Crash can't go into the house because crash crashes into things. Crash stays outside now.

I have a Lab Retriever and she's mixed with poodle but looks just like a lab. She legit crashes into the columns to our patio, walls, doors, and she'll look around like "how did that get there". She's ran full force sometimes hitting things so hard I thought she'd have a concussion. She's super smart, does plenty of tricks, can open doors to rooms you're trying to hide in (lock the bathroom if you wanna pee without company), get her own ice out of the fridge, carries her dog bowl to me when she's being fat, which is all the time. But for some reason, her space awareness is terrible lol. Oh and she also thinks she's small enough to be a lap dog. If you're laying down she'll lay vertically on you from head to toe. It's the funniest, rib crushing, thing.
Matheo: We shouldn't use unnatural remedies on Rue! The Alchemist: *literally spent the day foraging in the local forest to find base ingredients for their cure* Exqueeze me?
Hey one of 3 youtubers that I usually watch about newest indie games. I don't remember all the names, so I just give them nicknames based on what they love to say. The "you know" guy, The "if you will" guy, And you, the guy who really love to share about yourself when you have nothing to say when playing. I probably call you the "I'm the kind of guy" guy :D
Fun game. I really enjoyed the demo. Also, if you end up playing more of this, there are fast travel spots around the map. You just have to click them once to activate them. Will really help save time going between the forest, your brewing house and the town hall area.
I'm really loving the look of this. I like this being a potion / village simulator that doesn't also feel obligated to be a Harvest Moon / Stardew Valley farming sim, and instead uses the similar interface to do its own thing (if anything, it's reminding me of Recettear). That tends to turn me off about a lot of recent games like this despite this being a genre I love: they often endeavor to feel the same, and this feels just enough different that's it's hooked me.
Nothing takes a crumbling dump of a building and turns it into a house quite like some aged, stained, and damaged rugs :)))) is it even a home without them???
I am going to spend the rest of my days dedicated to making a time machine so I can go back to when he was recording this and tell him to pay attention to the dog or else humanity is ruined, just so that he would see what the dog wanted through most of the video
Absolutely - stardew was the first thing I thought of when I tried the demo, and I'll definitely be recommending it to friends who enjoyed stardew. The second thing I thought of was Matheo's *very* close resemblance to Dr Strange... xD Edit: Actually, Matheo was my third comparison, I (somehow) managed to forget Collin's immediate resemblance to a certain Bleach character.

I grow jasmine....star jasmine vine to be precise. I love when it blooms because when the wind hits the trellis I have it on and it blows in the window it is heavenly.
Is that dog on the start wearing steampunk glasses how awesome is that!? I love pixel art and the vintage look look at the glow of the lighting even so film noir, everything about this game is so exciting. I also love gardening so can't wait to play the entire game.

I basically stopped the video at character creation to look it up on steam and saw it already in my list, then saw it had a demo and decided to go in blind. Now it's been about 6 hours and I can't see the end of the demo still, and I had to force myself to stop! I'm gonna buy this when it comes out for sure. If you like Stardew Valley and/or Moonlighter, definitely check this game out :)
After watching this I decided to try it out - amazing and only a demo available. After playing the demo for 4 hours I had to give it a break and return to it later - very impressed

Due to unwanted and possibly adverse alchemical reactions from pet dander, dogs are not permitted to be in alchemy labs. Since your home and chemistry stations are intertwined, your animals must remain out of your domicile, as per Capital Regulations.
Oh man. "We shouldn't use any unnatural drugs!" They're frickin' HERBS. Natural. Dude. lol Also, there are teleportation points. There are flags at the beginning of Meadow Range, beside your house, entrance to the beach, and... one in the middle of town somewhere... I think near the church? Once you activate them, you can just click on them in your map to go to those places. Super handy!!!
I was going to say the same thing - guy literally just boiled some plants in a kettle and made her drink it - Mattheo like: "OMG WHAT ARE THESE DRUGS!" I have a strong suspicion his brand of "healing" involved a lot of hand waving, low muttering and incense.

The demo is massive. I played 11 hours and it's not done yet! Luckily my birthday is coming up so hopefully I can afford to buy this game when it comes out.
I got the "thanks for playing!" thing pop up but I could keep playing. Though I noticed that I didn't get to do anything with my letter of recommendation and the social/like bars never move up after becoming friendly with people, so I'm guessing those are demo restrictions. Really engaging game though, looking forward to the full release :)
The brewing mechanic is fun, in my head the shapes of the puzzle game are the molecules you're interested in from the ingredients, if that makes sense. Overall pretty cute game.
Wow this is like an Indie Atelier game. Very excited. One thing worries me though. As somebody who has never ever managed to succeed even once in the Fishing minigame in Stardew valley this diagnosis minigame makes me VERY nervous. This could easily break the whole game for me. Which would be very sad.

I like the hook - you trial out indie games so we don't have to. it would be really nice if you had a review video, say every quarter of a year, of the games you recommended the most. Sort of like how anime reviewers do a "most anticipated" and "best animes " for every season. Just an idea. Cheers!

Normally, it makes sense to let a new arrival rest before introducing them to the whole town. But we're talking about an alchemist here, it's safe to assume they have 'energy potions' to keep them awake when needed. Could be why the protagonist seems so full of energy.
