At 26:07 you said that you were having gardening issues. If you do raised beds, you can raise the soil height to help with root depth. I have had to do that here in my current place because of clay, and low part in the backyard that has water travel across all the middle of all the backyards on my side of the street. An important thing to remember is that you do not use pressure-treated lumber in the raised bed box. The chemicals used for PT wood can get absorbed into your plants. Not an issue for decorative flowers, but not desirable for growing edible plants. I have made several, and they last 5 years or so, and then they start to breakdown. I still have a bed that's 8 years old, but I don't see it lasting past 10. After you get/make a bed box, then comes the heavy part. Buying a metric buttload of topsoil, and transporting it from The Home Depot or Lowe's.(My 8' x 4' x 12" bed took 25-30 40lb bags of topsoil) You only have to do that once tho, after that you just need to add fertilizer/rotate the soil seasonally.

Something I sort of wish these frontier survival games is the ability to do extra with houses, like have a smoker in someone's back yard, its not efficient, its horribly slow but its cheaper than building a full on smoker and the resident does that while living there. though I do not know much about this game, I can see it having a bit more extra potential.

What is with some people?
"A love letter to banished"
Sir you had my curiosity but now you have my attention
i am disappointed he didnt say settlers
You had me at ”settlement survival”. 😂
On my wishlist, thanks Splat, watch a lot of your vids, great stuff sir
8:01 Do you know who is also looking good while performing various tasks? Jordan Schlansky XD
39:39 ohh thank you! I like seeing the settings quite a lot!
Omgee, have been looking for a colony SIM closer to the old settlers and emperor: rise of the middle Kingdom. This might be it!
Interesting game, I might have to add it to my wish list. As always your banter is top tier.
Sweet you got to play this. Looking forward too it.
Good vid, man. I'm really digging this one.
This would be a game that i would be interested in watching
Game looks awesome.
@splattercatgaming I think you need to do a deeper dive on this game for RUclips because you didn't really do it justice. You should at least get into the farming and upgrade aspects because this game has such a cool and in depth farming system that NO OTHER citybuilder uses. Since this video came out I have watched a lot more of this game and there is something really special about it for fans of citybuilders and colony survival.
Entire real-life frontier towns were built in less time than it will take Comcast to improve his Internet.
When he said it was a veteran dev team I went to check and I certainly wasn't expecting this game to be made by the studio behind Grim Dawn.
I've been dying to play this game since it was announced. Crate is an amazing dev team, and I love colony builders.
That intro video had some banging music!
Great visuals, another one added to the wishlist
Love what I have seen so far....When it is finished it will be awesome..... Semper Fi Splattercat...
This game looks awesome, i love life is feudal, forest village. great video.
LOL @ too poor to have a pot to piss in...I like knowing the origins of popular phrases...Thanks!
These colony survival games are a dime a dozen. This one looks very pretty. But I didn't see anything that really makes this stand out from the pack of other titles.
I watched a video of this game by another youtuber and was completely bored and disinterested, mostly because he was talking about all kinds of other things that had nothing to do with the game and not explaining the game. You on the other hand made me very interested in this game. Got a sub and I'm wishlisting it.
Titan Quest and Grim Dawn are two of my favorite games of all time. I still go back and replay them pretty often, even after years.
I wish they'd have done a third iteration of their APRG system...I can't fault Crate for doing what they want, though. Good for them, and while it's not my style of game, I might check it out anyway.
This looks like it's in the same engine too, just obviously heavily modified.
I love games like these, and this one looks amazing, I can’t get over how much I hate the grid building and straight roads systems in them though
Yeah natural roads are so much better, for instance like in ostriv. I love when roads just develop from being walked on.
Definitely going onto the wishlist. Loving the look.
