considering the ps5 equivalent gpu would be a 2070, which has roughly half of the computing power of the 4070, this game is a technical disaster
and GPU alone costs more than the entire console.
This is a native PS5 game ported to pc, so pc needs to be a lot higher in specs to match the ps5
@@sayakroy9070 Cope .. ps5 native ? more like a VRS FPS BOOST SUPER DYNAMIC RESOLUTION AND PS5 MARKETED THAT CONSOLE CAN RUN GAMES 4K60FPS ?? YES CAN BUT NOT NATIVE... there is no such thing native ps5 and pc must aim for your console spec . Wake up nerd console is the most low end build against PC

Horribly unoptimzed game on PC, but a great game nonetheless. You can reduce texture and shadow quality to high to save some vram, there's virtually no precievable difference in quality, even Digital Foundry confirms this. They go as far as saying as Ultra quality is basically a placebo that only drains your vram and fps.
Could you do a video explaining your CPU overclock? I'm interested in overclocking, great video as always!
Amazing quality vid

I’m surprised you aren’t making any videos on Resident Evil 4: Remake
Can you pls make a benchmark on the rx 6600 in new 2023 titles with some demandings games like cyberpunk 2077?
Its crazy how 12GB is not enough for this game. Some cards 4 years ago only have 6 or 8 GB. Yes, compared to other GPUs 12 isn't exactly the largest capacity, but if they took time to optimise their game, compress textures etc then 12GB would be more then enough. I really hope that in the future developers do not see this as their que to just not optimise their games anymore. I have a 8GB GTX1080 before this card so I hope I can last this card as long as I did that one.
if the textures weren't compressed the game would be using like 50GB of VRAM
Ultra settings in this game just seem a bit silly especially on shadows and textures. 12GB SHOULD last you enough for at least 2 gens even if we still get the occasional unoptimized mess here and there. This damn game was also using almost 20GB of system RAM lmao
VRAM and RAM usage in this game on PC is absolutely insane considering the PS5 only has access to 16 GB total VRAM + RAM, but honestly nvidia should also not be let off the hook for selling a GPU of this performance class and price point with 12 GB VRAM in 2023. hell, the 6800 XT is pretty much on par with the 4070 for rasterization and released with 16 GB VRAM almost 3 years earlier. insane.
This is true. My 1080 basically died so had to find something, and did not want to spend under a grand to get a RTX4080, or over £800 for a RTX4070Ti. :( Annoying even if I had waited for the 4070 SUPER it would still only have 12GB RAM@@stefannita3439
Another amazing video. I like your benchmarks with old GPUs and your coments. Did you ever done benchmark with Radeon HD 2600? I think i could be very interesting...

Heaviest scene bar none (for no good reason or course) is when Joel wakes up in the snow village and prepares to go look for Ellie at the end of the game.
Joel just looking at the frozen wood houses eats a lot of hardware.
Dropped my 5700 XT to 44 fps at 1080p Ultra FSR2 Quality (Textures High)
for me it was beginning of the game, in one of the warehouses you can enter on the first floor catwalk and stand near window (you cant see whats on the other side, there are big rays of light shining through this window) and fps dropped from 65-70 to 23.
For me it was the bridge scene. 15fps jumping into the water.

Idk what lighting technique ND used years ago in the ps3 version but it achieved something similar to raytraced lightning for what we had back in the day. It looked so good for a ps3 game, I hope people can finally start admiring what this game is.
Baked lighting... Which is still used today in games.
@@Killersnake432 Idk if that's exactly it, but I remember the game having this blinding effect when you came out of a dark area back into the exterior and that's just freaking amazing.
There is zero ray tracing in this game.
Real time reflections are screen spaced while real time shadows are dynamic. I've seen these in games even 10-15 years ago.
The PS3 Version looks good enough that I would prefer to emulate it instead of this unoptimized mess.
@@DragonOfTheMortalKombat You are kinda right with reflections but it uses both Screen Space Reflections and Planar Reflections. As well PC port gonna run better then RPCS3 if you dont have the CPU to push it... Since it's one of the most demanding games to run on RPCS3.

The random stuttering is actually a bug in that garbage port of a game, not the GPU's fault. It happened on high end cards, too. You just have to quit the game and relaunch it. I had to restart the game like 20 times before I can finally finish it.
Rtx 3060ti here i put the present to ultra then lowered the vram heavy stuff to high and was always above 60/70 but the textures on high 1080p looked terrible especially after playing re4 remake

The same on cp2077 with rtx 4070, I would be happy to know the answer
3080ti is slightly more powerful than a 4070 (around 8%). You are probably bottlenecked somewhere, perhaps your ram mhz or your cpu. He did mention in the video at one point it seems very cpu intensive, so my bet would be the cpu is your bottleneck for this game. It could also be that he is using frame generation, since 30 series cards don't have frame generation. Idk if he is, didn't really check.

bro im going to get 4070 for 1080p gaming everyone is saying dont cuz it dosnt have enough vram to be able to handle newer gen games which might come out in 2 3 years , is it enough for 1080p that i can max out all graphics and be able to use it for 3 or 4 years from now no problem ? pls tell
It’s impossible to predict really. For a lot of games 12gb is absolutely fine especially if you are willing to adjust your settings even at 4k. But as you can see lately some titles are very demanding of vram even at 1080p. In 2 years it could be worse but nobody really knows.
Max settings nope you need to drop graphic settings
16gb is the way to go
Get the Radeon 6800 xt, it performs the same, and it has 16GB of RAM. I think it's also cheaper lol.
if u can get RX6800XT 16GB i would go with that if u can get it for same price or less but otherwise its hard to tell for 1080p it could be viable for 1-3 years but who knows what will happen
Ppl acting like vram is the only factor that matters in a graphics card. none of them talking about memory bandwidth, memory\core clocks and other such things.
For a start, the RX6800XT 16GB is only GDDR6. The RTX 4070 super (which costs a fractional amount more than the 4070, and no reason to go for a 4070 when the super exists) is 12gb GDDR6X, which has faster memory bandwidth. This is why it is roughly the same price while having lower vram capacity, because the memory bandwidth is higher. The amount of people that overlook that, is staggering to say the least.
I got a 4070 super, its running everything fine in 1440p with plenty of room to spare. Even running some games in 4k with over 100 fps. You will be more than fine on 1080p, ignore these amd shills that have no idea what they are talking about. VRAM capacity is not even half of what matters in a gpu. A 4070 is actually overkill for 1080p, you would be better off getting a used 3060 ti or 3070 for 1080p imo. Anything higher than 8gb vram is just wasted vram that isn't going to get used at 1080p, you typically wouldn't use ultra texture quality when playing in 1080p because you are not at a high enough res to really benefit from it. You would be better off just running on high texture quality and then jus bumping everything else up to ultra (or just keep everything on high, ultra looks barely much different than high anyway even at 4k).
I would only recommend a 4070, if you also really want ray tracing in 1080p. In my experience, most of the 30 series cards don't handle ray tracing that well.
i found monitor from walkway and it was asus and it works because i got yesterday mower and it gave me a monitor

Sad to see that the optimization of TLOU hasn´t gotten much better after 3 weeks, but atleast the CPU usage Problem seems to be better.
