Great vid Alan, thanks for all your advice in the past. Due to your help I caught my first pinkie on a turtleback off land (off a beach). Which I’ve always wanted to do.
Thanks !! Yeah it can be a very challenging fishing destination with very strong currents. There is some really awesome fishing there though. Just gotta work through some of the challenging conditions. This was a tough day that turned into a lot of fun.
Western Port takes a lot of thought, research and practice. Not like Port Phillip Bay which is very simple. But it's worth it. It took me a lot more than two trips before I had a successful day on WP.
I pretty much exclusively fish WP. Just got to choose the right spot and make sure you've got some serious sinkers. Had some cracker sessions and some not so much, but always bring something home whether fishing from boat or kayak. I think a key advantage is French Island blocks the "fetch" (wind blown waves), so you can often find somewhere that's manageable. Still the tides are brutal.
Thanks !! yeah was hard work that day, but ended up being a lot of fun at the end. That's fishing sometimes work through the hard moments and enjoy the frantic ones.
Yeah the weed was at all levels, we tried throwing some plastics even surface lures but they too were getting hammered with weed. A few moves finally got us into the right area.
Hey Alan, can you do a video on LANDBASED whiting fishing because it would help a ton( preferably on the mornington peninsula). Thanks
Yes, hoping to knock over some land based KGW stuff very soon, weather has just been horrible the last 4 weeks making filming very tough

That's awesome. Hopefully the first of many. Well done.
Good re-living this mate. Was a good end to a long frustrating day. I guess it shows that persistence pays off.
Thanks !! Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah it sure was a strange days. Glad we persisted and got onto a few good fish in the end.
Loved The Vid Alan!!! Looks like a grouse spot. Never been fishing at Western Port, have to have a crack.
Thanks Jared, yeah it sure is a challenging yet special fishing destination. Some excellent fishing here.
Awesome video. Ive fished western port twice now, didnt like the current and the weed. And definitely didnt land fish like you guus. Well done 👏

魚,好特別沒看過
Why not throw some plastivs and retrieve them above the weed level. Or are the weed floating around below the surface?

@@fishingmad what a pain in the ass
Not as simple as that in Western Port mate. When the tide is running, your plastic won't get anywhere near the botttom. Unless you use a 6oz jighead.
How's old mates form, whole bay to fish in and drops anchor on your arse end... some ppl need to learn respect.
Was this in summer?
Autumn
Was filmed about a month and half ago. Cheers
