  • We decided to cover the brick in our unfitted farmhouse kitchen. It was wasted space and we couldn't figure out how to utilize the space without it looking like too much. So we decided to cover it with beadboard and make the space match the rest of the kitchen walls.

I am rewatching all of your videos and just falling in love all over again with the home you’re making. I’d forgotten that the brick was exposed for a while. I do love brick, but agree with everyone else (and you) that it looks so much better covered with the beadboard. Tidier, brighter, and more functional. I love the pair of pictures of the man and woman praying.

I think I would have painted those studs to match the light red brick so it would "disappear," and then hang whatever shelving you would want from the studs.

Sarah it looks beautiful! It really gives it a finished & brighter look! Sometimes you have to live in your home for a while to get a feel for it. I’m excited to see what y’all have planned for the dining rm! 🍂🍁

Another exposed brick and wood lover, but I understand why you covered it. It looks really nice and cohesive with the rest of the kitchen. And having space for a shelf is wonderful. Looking forward to seeing all the projects to come. Blessings!

It looks so good! I initially had hoped you would cover that brick but understood why you didn't. It just didn't work with the studs the way they were to make it usable, like you said. Your finished kitchen is so homey and pretty and roomy too! Good job guys! I know you will enjoy it for many, many years to come!❤

I love it, what a difference covering the brick, as much as I love brick, the kitchen, in my opinion looks so much cleaner and streamline. I’m so jealous of the breadboard you scored, it’s beautiful. Anyways great job. 🌷🇨🇦

It must just be the shadows making it look gray but its not. The entire kitchen is the same color as the shelf.

The copper tea kettle… does it work? Do you use it or is it just more for decoration? I’m curious, because I have the same kettle and I’m wondering if you use yours because I have not used mine yet…

The tea kettle that I took down it was broke and wouldn't work. The tea pot I cleaned and hung in its spot does work and I use it multiple times a week.
