Very well done! I enjoyed the article a lot and can't wait to see what more you might bring in the future! If you plan on working around concepts of this cannon, I would be really interested to know how well actually shutting Oracle down went... as I'd imagine it would be not great, to say the least. Given its main imperative was to maintain the goals of the foundation, I'd imagine it would have a serious issue with the foundation choosing to dissolve itself. Oracle very clearly showed us it has no issues with railroading parts of humanity into doing what it wants, and my assumption is it likely already predicted this outcome, planned for it, and hid the intentions to stop it as we would expect a super intelligent AI to do.
The thaumaturgic IT ritual reminded me of an old friend. He worked for IBM and then Unisys for forty years. He stayed up to date, even in retirement, and could handle anything from bleeding edge hardware to old punch card machines. It reminds me of him because he cosplayed as a wizard in his spare time. He had the full outfit, and a wonderful full white beard. At Christmas, he would do charity Santa Claus appearances. He was a good man and a good friend, we lost him last year. Yes! And I like how they avoided the trope of the AI being evil. It literally only did what they asked, making their actions even more frightening. They didn't do these things before only because they didn't think of it.
@applepie explosion I saw a video on RUclips on a different channel discussing the effectiveness of various movie AIs. Hey! I'm one of the authors of this article. The phrase originated in an old SCP written in 2008, which is still on the site as SCP-257-ARC. I tried commenting and leaving a link to it, but I think youtube deleted it - you'll be able to find it with a google though. Since then, the phrase, and the idea of the black moon, have been interpreted by many different authors in many different ways! Tanhony's second 001 proposal is an especially interesting article about it.
i love these videos. one thing id like to see again is quotes at the end of the video that encapsulate the theme, or are directly linked to the article. it’s a very minor thing but i would like to see it again
The Black Moon howls for something that we should define as a relief or anything good, you have the Black Moon based on how you raise the decency words in order to be considerate and kind towards humanity.
Won't you open the sky for me? Seriously feeling flavours of Stray here - sealed cities, environmental disaster, controlling computers, and a final struggle in the end to break free of that false salvation, that gilded captivity. Strive for a purpose, strive for a home.
I like hearing about Black Moon from time to time. I know it is something spreading all over scpwiki but i still didnt push myself to read all about it. I like hearing things in articles like that, conecting to each other. Not just like mentioning 173 but actualy KNOWING that the Black Moon Is something big. Its almost like the Scarlet King. Just love it
Brilliant as always. As for the vocal visualisation, I liked the artwork but it's your choice ultimately so do what you wish. May I ask you a Q. as to something you may have worked on? It's the demo for "Go Home Annie" that's been out for a short while and the full game is TBC: Did you do the voice for the "Guy on The Intercom"? It sounds a great deal like you but it'd be fun to know. Take care & great job as always! I like to think that possibly the Super AI may have had more to do with this than is explored... Never can know at the near end of the world though 😉
I'm not sure about the way of going to create an SCP wiki. But I was listening to somebody taught the other day and something I thought would be pretty cool the SCP triple zero social media a cognitive and memetic hazard. Meant to calls chaos and destruction by spreading information that is partially true not true misinformation. Cuz it's some days feels like social media is an SCP
That was really great. I do like the waveform but I also miss just having the pictures. I was expecting just the audio based SCP from a few weeks ago to have it and then it would go back to not having it. It seemed like it fit for that story. Anyways, either way I love these. They're always so great to listen to. This was a pretty interesting article. It had a lot of moral dilemmas and it's thought provoking.
Love the new video format and really always in awe and appreciation of the way you break down and tell stories. One of the best channels on here by a mile.
I feel like in the end SCP-2000 would somehow be the ultimate solution to this scenario. And even though it's dated in the future, this is actually a past event. Then again, in my head canon, this is how I reconcile most future-dated SCPs.
This reminds me a lot of 4156, although that article is a lot more personal and intimate. It's also much less conclusive- the foundation doesn't dissolve itself, it just ends the social reconstruction efforts. Still, it's an interesting quandary in both articles, and I'm glad to have heard about this one here!
My headcanon for this is that the blight itself is a byproduct of what happens when SCP-447 got mixed with dead bodies. also, its hurts my heart that SCP-999 probably got into that everlasting scream state when it tried to save as many people as possible before getting infected with the blight, screaming because it feels guilty bcoz of what happened.
TES with another great SCP reading . I've been watching the x files for the 1st time and its great and with my love of scp helps make it more enjoyable .
I'm finally watching this in it's entirety, and man it goes in every direction that modern dystopian sci-fi does, it's so great, I can pinpoint every movie takeaway and it's fun The day the earth stood still -> Terminator (Skynet) -> Soylent green -> more terminator -> Matrix -> Logan's Run Edit: I forgot Equilibrium
The ai had literally convinced them to launch the hypno-drones so to speak, but it was somehow not deviating from its designer's intentions? I was expecting a strait up roko's basilisk moment.
really thought this was gonna be a roko's basilisk type thing at first (eg turns out the AI time travelled into the past and caused the moon anomaly in order to ensure it would be built)
definitely enjoyed this outcome, the HAL 9000/Skynet route for AI in fiction has really started to feel phoned in. let the AI go nuts, sure, but blatant evil autonomy is a bit of a tired trope at this point.
You know, with the testing of the documents, I wonder if they ever just tested, letting an article exist on the site, and seeing what happened. Like they corrupt other documents yeah, but maybe something would've happened if they'd let it just do it's thing. Perhaps it would 'stabilise' in some way. Something they could've tried, at least, with nothing else working.
This is one of my articles, thanks to TES for covering it! It's certainly not my best work, but I'm still proud for getting something relatively ambitious out there. I hope you enjoy!

@@dysadron3909 You didn't answer the question, rude.
@osirisgem Question must be answered by the reader, or the horror comes out all premature and ineffectual.
i love these videos. one thing id like to see again is quotes at the end of the video that encapsulate the theme, or are directly linked to the article. it’s a very minor thing but i would like to see it again
Seriously the best way to end my workweek. Monday morning is my Friday night. I love this, really makes you think.
Ya baby! Bed time and boom, new Exploring Series SCP vid!
The Black Moon howls for something that we should define as a relief or anything good, you have the Black Moon based on how you raise the decency words in order to be considerate and kind towards humanity.
Really like this new voice visualizer, makes it relaxing and love the transitions
Just love it
I love this channel so much. it is the perfect content for cooking along and just laying down. Thanks for yet another awesome reading.
Another fantastic video by the exploring series. Probably my favorite content creator. Thank you for all your hard work.
Goddamn, the O-5 Council started to behave so ridiculously halfway through.
That lunar site transmission reminds me of that classic youtube video where it's an emergency broadcast telling people to not look at the moon.
I didn't catch that! Man, Local 58 is such a cool channel.
The idea of using a hydraulic press to neutralize Scp-173 is amazing
LMAO WTF
Then they set it on fire too lol
love watching these videos early in the morning before school and late at night
Brilliant as always. As for the vocal visualisation, I liked the artwork but it's your choice ultimately so do what you wish. May I ask you a Q. as to something you may have worked on? It's the demo for "Go Home Annie" that's been out for a short while and the full game is TBC: Did you do the voice for the "Guy on The Intercom"? It sounds a great deal like you but it'd be fun to know.
Take care & great job as always! I like to think that possibly the Super AI may have had more to do with this than is explored... Never can know at the near end of the world though 😉
41:27 Everybody gang until the Foundation makes Soylent Green.
Timely, this tale about the Black Moon, considering the upcoming Nov. 8 lunar eclipse as of this video's release.
I wonder if Dr. Bright and Dr. Clef had survived this.
You def earned a subscriber and more to come.
"We'll have to see how that works out."
_sensible chuckle_
a wonderful musing on freewill.
thank you for not skipping anything good.
thanks for the consistent upload. this is how I know it's monday.
Love the new video format and really always in awe and appreciation of the way you break down and tell stories.
One of the best channels on here by a mile.
Thank you for the awesome content, I hope your channel continues to grow!
Love the dark blue on the visualizer looks amazing 💙
Pretty nice background visual man
The dark colour makes this even better for my insomnia💓💓
Much love for your videos
"Pain will last as long as you are alive"
Damn, the new death metal album sounds dope!
I feel like in the end SCP-2000 would somehow be the ultimate solution to this scenario.
And even though it's dated in the future, this is actually a past event.
Then again, in my head canon, this is how I reconcile most future-dated SCPs.
During one of the 05s speeches she mentions Yellowstone is "screaming crater."
Whenever the foundation is given enough power the result is always nerve stapling
I actually look forward to Mondays now.
Now thats a Birthday Gift
And a Monday Gift
A double Gift 😆
This wensday i am going to a consert of a band called Amaranthe, who have a song called Amaranthine...
I can't tell you how many times I've listened to this.
I'm finally watching this in it's entirety, and man it goes in every direction that modern dystopian sci-fi does, it's so great, I can pinpoint every movie takeaway and it's fun
The day the earth stood still -> Terminator (Skynet) -> Soylent green -> more terminator -> Matrix -> Logan's Run
Edit: I forgot Equilibrium
Well done T E S i love playing theese vids Thank you
The ai had literally convinced them to launch the hypno-drones so to speak, but it was somehow not deviating from its designer's intentions? I was expecting a strait up roko's basilisk moment.
i listen to you so much that i know whenever youre about to end a video without even looking at it
I’m glad this was a standalone instead of a 001 proposal
999 went down trying to save as many as it could. Goodest monster.
A Thaumaturgic IT Ritual.
Basically post-it notes with motivational sayings stuck all over the computer monitors.
"Hang in there, Baby!"
:D
God damn it you posted this while I was at work and it helped me through keep doing gods work good sir!!!!
This reminds me of a certain scp from long ago the moon and there's was a tower and red, it was related to a painting
really thought this was gonna be a roko's basilisk type thing at first (eg turns out the AI time travelled into the past and caused the moon anomaly in order to ensure it would be built)
While all this is happening, the administrator is chilling in a bar practicing quickswapping shotguns
definitely enjoyed this outcome, the HAL 9000/Skynet route for AI in fiction has really started to feel phoned in. let the AI go nuts, sure, but blatant evil autonomy is a bit of a tired trope at this point.
Had to double check This wasnt local 58 content
If acquiring information about the anomalous is this dangerous the wanderer’s library is horrifying in this universe
"This is an pretty extreme plan, but the foundation implemented it"
Yeah that checks.
Finally more black moon related content! Love the lore of it.
