- Welcome back. Here is a preview of the third and final part of the Sicily series. This episode was filmed on the island of Salina in the Aeolian Islands. As you know, cinema informs so much of my rapport with Italy and in this you can see some of the films shot in Sicily that have influenced me the most - L’Avventura / The Adventure (1960), The Godfather (1972), Il Postino / The Postman (1994), Il Gattopardo / The Leopard (1963) and Stromboli (1950). I am in last year of my bachelor's degree in CS. This days I am really busy with learning stuffs for my future career and job so I will be totally focusing on that. But I will watch all the episodes once I get succeed in my future goal of getting my first job. Many of your videos literally feel like we could be soul connected friends: Il Postino, Cinema Paradiso, Godfather, skirts, tiles, mountains, vintage music. Italy has affected me in many senses too, but Sicily made me fall in love with a man, its landscapes, fusion of such interesting cultures and their simple but delicious cuisine and lifestyle. I’m from Sicily and I try to go to the Isole Eolie every summer. It is a magical place, every island has its energy, its soul. Thank you for seeing the value in this place, this culture that often gets overlooked and filled with shallow stereotypes. Sicily is much more than that, and your work wonderfully reflects the raw beauty of this region. This is the most beautiful thing I’ve seen in a while. Thank you Kylie.

But, above all when watching these Sicily videos, I think Lina Wertmüller and one of my favorite films, Swept Away (... by an Unusual Destiny in the Blue Sea of August). Are you and your BF a little bit of a latter day Mariangela Melato and Giancarlo Giannini (although certainly not the power dynamic between them in that movie - LOL)?
