- Welcome back to the final part of my Aeolian Island series in Sicily. After exploring the Sicilian island of Stromboli and then move on to Lipari, we travelled to Salina to stay in a beautiful little rental house by the beach. This episode, I continue with the discussion of great Italian cinema, films like L'Avventura by Antonioni starring Monica Vitti and Il Postino. You can find many more videos on my channel about how I learned Italian and moved to Italy. Making these episodes alone is very time consuming and expensive and if you would like to support my work, you can find my Patreon page here:

Physical activity, such as running up an hill then, hungry, having a wonderful dinner at night in Summer.
A kind of paradise for me.
My heart aches , but watching this is like medicine , it soothes the pain and brings comfort in difficult times . I love that there is someone else in this world who appreciates these finer things in life , the quiet moments , beautiful cinema , great food , good company . Your words touch my heart , with grace and beauty . Love what you do, I love the serenity I feel after watching a video of yours , I feel like I've had a little holiday , in a way that I'd choose to spend it .
What beautiful words...
Gosh Toby, thank you so much.
Any time I think of taking a break from learning Italian you remind me of the beauty and poetry of the language and the prospect of being able to speak to Italians in their native tongue and I have to keep going. Excellent work as usual
Theodora Price I’m so pleased to know this, Theodora. 🥰🥰🥰
How cute was that singing scene 😂😍🥰
After a long and difficult day, I came here tonight to breathe. Thank you, Kylie.
Susan Moses Oh my gosh, Susan, I don’t know exactly why but this comment makes me quite emotional with gratitude. Thank you.
Now we know his name, you two are lovely together 👫🏼 And that scenario makes you shine ✨
Mouthwatering Sicily: from the espresso, to the colorful flowers and tiles, the stone and wood that have a million stories to tell, those amazing sunsets, the delightful dolci and vino, the sweet music, that sicilian spontaneity and the colors of the sea... you made me fly there once more ☺️ As usual, beautifully done Kylie 💕
Clara Espinosa Thank you so much, dear Clara. 💓
Is this a special person in your life? I didnt hear his name.
“Its beauty won’t turn you devout simply by walking through its doors and give you all the answers. You have to find that within yourself. But beauty--in architecture, in nature or art--can certainly clarify our desires, dreams and direction.”
Brian Collins 😊😊😊
Hi Kylie. Another beautiful cinematic love letter to Italy (and now I need to see the movie, "L'Avventura"). In the U.S., Conan O'Brien has a producer who is not Italian but is famous for loving Italy too. He has said that, after visiting most countries, he found them interesting, but didn't feel a compulsion to return. However, he has been to Italy about 30 times because the art, architecture, food, people, and culture just keep drawing him back. I think that you and he have a lot in common. It's always a joy for me when you have a chance to meet and chat with the locals. You can learn a lot about a place by just listening to their perspective. As always, your editing is amazing. So different than 99% of the videos on RUclips. You truly do create a mini-movie or documentary masterpiece. I'd love to see all of the work you put into your videos. Perhaps you could put a camera behind you as you work and just speed it up (for purposes of time) to show us what goes into all of your editing. The finished product is beautiful, but I suspect that we have no idea how many hours went into it. Whether it's food, art, or architecture, Italians believe in doing things well and have a tremendous attention to detail. Your videos are much the same. You care about them more than most RUclipsrs and the finished product always leaves us wanting more. That's the magic of Italy. Bravissimo! :-)
Lee Moraglio Thank you sincerely, Lee. Yes, that’s a good idea to do an editing time lapse. I’ve often thought it might be interesting for some people, as there are hours of work that I put into something that may not even be patently evident in the end result - like layering ambient sounds. I believe these subtle details contribute to the overall experience but perhaps some behind-the-scenes would heighten the appreciation. For example, cleaning up bad audio - that can take a whole day. If there’s been a problem with microphones or I was trying to capture something spontaneously without stopping the flow and setting up an interviewee with a lapel mic, it means I often have to individually place little key frames over every single phrase to bring my voice (closer to the camera) down and their response up. Sometimes there are literally a hundred painstaking key frames in one short conversation but no one would ever know, hearing the result. Of course, some of this detail may be tedious and dull for many people! 😂 I have heard of Conan’s producer - someone mentioned him in the comments here before. Italy certainly has a hypnotic effect on even the most seasoned traveller. 😊
Jordan Schlansky is his name.
Love Jordan Shlansky
@@travelfoodielove Yes, Jordan and Conan are hilarious together. Their trip to Italy was very funny and I hope they return soon to visit more cities. They are very much the odd couple. You have to go to teamcoco.com/italy to see all of the clips.
Another masterpiece that you 've done Kylie. Could you give the link of the piano music please, thq
This video is giving me all the feels. From the landscape shots, music, the colour... I just love it Kylie! A rich tapestry of perfection! Stunning!!

Watching this from a very rainy Vancouver (Canada). Making me miss all the beautiful Sicilian summers I had as a kid (and the very short Sicilian summer I had last year!). Great job, Kylie! It's gorgeous, as always. Thank you for all the feelings you're making me feel.
Just started to learn Italian and saw your channel. I have to say your Sicily triptych is stunning. I hadn’t seen Il Postino before, wow what an actor. Mmmm lots of things to do while we go back into lockdown this winter x
Sicily is the pearl of this century...Since old times, travellers
from the most far away country boast of it's merits, praise its territory
rave about its extraordinaty beauty, and highlights its strengths..because
it brings together the best aspects from every country
- Al Idrisi, geographer in the year 1145. (Tabula Rogeriana/The book of Roger)
I do not know why this description reminds me of you. Once again thx for highlighting the beauty of my land and our people
I have been waiting for the video all day long. I am in my comfortable relax armchair with a drink and about to enjoy this wonderful piece of art from my favourite RUclipsr Kylie. I know it is brilliant before I even see it. This is so exciting to watch Kylie's video for the first time because I will rewatch it every single day until the next one is uploaded. Thank you Kylie for the hard work you are doing placing your heart and soul in it
Michael Adrienne Oh this is so beautiful! What greater motivation could I possibly ask for?! Thank you for making all the hours of editing completely worthwhile! 🥰🙏👩🏼💻
The climax at the end of this spectacular video had me sobbing. I have lived in this country for 30 years and created a family here. No MATTER how hard things can get I still experience a child like amazement living in such a stunning country. Yes Kylie It is like the inside of a glorious cattedral but what you feel about its beauty or challenge epends on your soul. God bless you and Guido.
Born of Sicilian parents in Canada, thank you for this gift in 3 parts. Just enchanting and so uplifting!.,
Walking along that dirt road in July with your bf, took me back! Brutal in the unbearable heat and especially when the scirocco hits!
Again 🙏

Hi Kylie! Congrats!! Such a lovely episode. I really enjoyed every minute of it. You got the touch and magic when describing those beautiful places in Italy. Thanks for sharing your trips with us. Love from Chile.
Bellissima, Kylie. I felt like I was along on this journey with you and Guido through the cinematography alone. I was totally enchanted with the dancing while cooking. The two of you are so in love.
Thanks for the Mahler, Waldteufel, and the clever music that was your philosophical thoughts near the end.
Would you happen to know the name of the opening music? Artist? Thank you in advance :)
Robert- do you know the name of the Italian singer?
Just beautiful, Kylie! You did my ancestors proud! I have not been there since the seventies and not much has changed. The beach near where you you stayed is where we hung out for a good part of our visit. Just love your work and hope to return to Salina one day to uncover more of my roots. You have inspired this old woman! Love your work, dear girl!
This is incredible!!! I have a special place in my heart for Sicily as well, I studied abroad in Italy and have traveled back 3 times since. I love this country - beautiful representation of the Sicilian islands and of the beautiful people there!!!

Adored the exchange with the gentleman singing and building. Also giggle at your indulgent almost teasing tone .....we’ve taken a different route due to the “leeetle cat” 🤣
Jean Byrne 🥰🥰🥰
Yes the part of the muratore singing has something in it that literally transports me in that moment.
The silence of the mountain in the heat of August brings to our ears the invisible presence of the muratori working on a church, a human presence so unaspected and your approach singing back
@@patriziapitts5926 thank you soo much for sharing your memories, you’ve almost transported me there x
Enthralled by chapter three, my own heart yearns for the absolute bliss this little film shows. You Kylie are blissfully happy in this summer idyll. I see love in your boyfriend’s eyes when he looks at you and when he films you. Thank you for sharing a bit of your personal life and allowing us a glimpse. It makes me happy for you and hopeful for me to see Sicily and experience their warmth and who knows a love for me?
What a beautiful, entertaining, enlightening and simply gorgeous video! SO want to visit Sicily one day. Thank you! x
Another beautiful video. You hit all the right notes with Mahler and Antonioni, 2 of my favorites. You are a wonderful director. Would love to see you make a feature film someday. Bravo!

Kylie your cinematography is second to none, the sharpness of colour itvis like watching an old romantic film. Some top Film Director needs to see your catalogue of work as you are worthy of making a beautiful romantic film. Grazia💖
Antonioni was originally from a town that De Chirico used to call .. la citta della metafisica..Ferrara..
You may also like a song by Claudio Baglioni ...Avrai... it's a song from 1982..

Proud to be one of your patrons, Kylie!! Thanks for another masterpiece 😘 love, Rachel
There’s A Girl In The Gardens Thank you so much, sweetheart!!! 💕💕💕💕
Loved this one! It felt more personable but still has your Italian cinema style, but also played into the theme you mention at the end of warning of life just pretending, very well rounded!
Kylie, your videos sometimes make me cry, the way you interject those films, so alive with passion! Glad to see Guido on this third chapter!
Absolutely beautiful and deep as the ocean 💕 thank you!
I just watch 1, 2 and 3... this is where we went on our last family holiday (before the pandemic ruined tourism) - we did a tour of the islands and briefly Sicily... My favourite place was Lipari. We went at a time when Stromboli was erupting, and we saw it at night from a boat. I will never forget it.
Oh god, that house is stunning. That balcony, that view!!
Also, Kylie, the love and passion you have for my country never fails to amaze me. Whenever I'm feeling down or disillusioned or like I hate everyone I come back to your videos and I'm like, wow. Maybe Italy truly is a special place. So, thank you
Visually stunning and superb storytelling! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Kylie. Loved that.
Another wonderful, beautiful film, full of wisdom and gorgeous photography and content, Thank you Kylie xx
Kylies life is a movie truly amazing
Thank you for showing us the beauty of Sicily and their people. Thanks to your work my love for Italy keeps growing and I feel more inspired to continue to learn the language. I will let you go now because I have to go watch video part I again. 😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️🙏
Absolutely stunning! I was so excited for this part to come out! I love the rhythm of the video; languid visuals perfectly punctuated with ‘real time’ pieces, and perfectly stitched to the music. Thank you so much!
Kate B I’m so happy you liked it, Kate!!! 🤗
Brava! Beautifully written and filmed. The perfect Sicilian holiday house is near the beach and walking distance to coffee and cornetti!
So beautiful! Well done Kylie!
I m so glad every time I m watching your video.. Out of all the video about travel in Italy from a different blogger, I can say you are the best..I m Italian and I have been living abroad since 4 years, and like most of us we have always Italy in our heart .. And only a person like you can catch all the meaning to live in Italy.. I want back to live to my country soon.. Because no matter how difficult can be sometimes, nothing can be compare to our beauty.. I really thank you Kylie for your job and because you really show in a amazing way what we have...
Absolutely brilliant you are in your story telling. Could watch you both all day. Haven't watched television in one year. Nothing worth the time. But this... this is truly captivating

Grazie.
