Thank you so much for this video! Anytime I follow a tutorial with a ball in it, I feel like I just don’t even know what I’m doing and hoping that I figure it out along the way. But now I feel like I can confidently make a ball, without having to question every stitch I do 🥰
thank you so much!!! i needed more practice with the magic ring since all i've been doing is making scarves and i wanted to get out of my comfort zone. i made mine surprisingly well. it's a bit egg shaped and lopsided (probably because my cat kept playing with the yarn in the process), but i am in love with it.
Hi! I learned to crochet a bit as a child, but granny sucked at teaching (sorry, granny!). Now I picked it up again 4 days ago, and today I finished my first ball :) More like a potato, really, I did mess up in some places. Anyone who has the basics down can do this, and I don't think you were too fast :) Thank you!
I had never been able to crochet until this video. Your right handed tutorial in the mirror was way better than any left handed one I had watched. I watched the first couple of minutes, and after I learned the single crochet I turned it off. I learned how to make multiple little beans. Thank you so much. After watching this, crocheting just clicked
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I kinda failed on my first attempt, but I made it into a dumpling and it’s so cute! I’m now working to do more and I think I’ve really improved since my first one. 😂

I'm 15 years old and I'm borrowing my mom's crochet supplies so that I can learn more about making crochets, so that I can make my girlfriend some crochets for her. So thanks for the video ☺
I made a little ball for my cats because they love cat toys. But it turned more in to an oval than anything else(that was a mistake on my pregnancy brain and stubbornness) 😅 Still had a lot of fun making this, though. Thank you for the great tutorial!!
Thanks so much for this! This was the first video to reteach myself how to crochet, and by looking at all of the linked videos to make sure I'm doing it right, turns out I only knew how to slip stitch my whole life! So thanks a ton for this! Do you happen to have a written pattern for this? I got lost somewhere around the second tube part and didn't know how to keep the pattern going for the row.
Just made one for my granddaughter and loved your video! I made another one watching someone else, but your instructions are much easier! Thanks for taking it slow too!
@@hidekiryuga26 i’ve been struggling doing the magic ring for a while now, but i’ve practiced it, and it now seems so simple! so keep practicing at the magic ring, and everything should come into place! 😊

sooo this was the very first project i decided to crochet, and i failed miserably, but now im a more advanced beginner so im gonna try making this again!
Pretty simple pattern. Fairly easy to follow. Thought I would suggest ((especially if one tends to lose count sometimes.)) When doing both increase and decrease rows , always start the row with the increase or decrease stitches. In this video you alternated starting these rows with the increase/decrease stitches and starting with single crochet stitch. It can work both methods. But I find keeping the decrease/increase at the beginning the row leads to less confusion overall, especially when free balling the pattern. This is just my suggestion and you or anyone is free to do it whatever way makes them most comfortable. I find that's the beauty of crochet. Its pretty flexible sometimes. I Just thought I'd share what has worked best for me, coming from a neuro divergent perspective that gets easily distracted.
Love that perspective and thank you for sharing it! I do agree with you! The only reason for doing this is to make it so there are not “points” around the ball but of course everyone should do what works for them! ☺️☮️💙🎶
@@TheCraftNut oh I noticed that too. I ended up when I was getting to the decrease point just worked around. Like not slip stiching and ch 1. I think that's how you work in the round more smoothly. I know I've learned it before but i often forget names of skills I learn at times. It did help, and I think next one I make I'll try that throughout.
I freaking love you! Can I say that lol? My little sister wants me to make her a blueberry for her birthday. I’ve only made baby blankets before and couldn’t find a RUclips video for a large blueberry. Thank you so much for posting this!
@@TheCraftNut Hi! I have a question. So, I’ve been following your steps. I’m making a large sized ball so I can make a blueberry. For some reason, my ball isn’t bowing. Do you have any idea why this might be the case? It’s just flat. I’m using crushed velvet yarn for reference. Thank you!
I was hoping you can clarify for me, when you finish going around the circle and you slip stich to finish off the entire circle, do you slip stich into the first single crochet or into the first chain you created to start off your next row?
Thank you for this video! I was wondering if this works for cylinders too if you just keep doing single crochets? It probably does, but I'm just making sure
Great video! But I guess I’m a little confused about which step actually makes the ball increase? Is it the 1 single crochet into 3 separate stitches and then the 2 single crochets? Also, if I wanted to make the ball smaller which steps do we avoid?
That is how it increases yes ☺️ and each row you want to make it bigger you add another stitch between the stitches with 2 single crochets in the same stitch. For instance the next row would be, 1 single crochet into 4 individual stitches and then 2 single crochet in the next stitch. And continue in that pattern until your round is as wide as you want the ball. If you want the ball to be small you again only go in increases until your ball is the width that you would like your ball to be 💙
I’ve seen so many different ways of doing this that someday I wanna make my own. It’s actually impressive how many different ways someone can simply crochet a ball. Awesome vid
Thank you for this! I was able to follow along very easily. I do have a question though. Around 5:22 you indicate if we want the circle to be wider then to continue the sc/flat circle alternating pattern. Since your last flat circle row, you did 3 sc then 2 sc in the next stitch, would the next flat circle be 4 sc then 2 sc in the next (and then 5 sc then 2sc in the next) ? I hope that makes sense.
Thank you! Yes I did watch it but I was a little confused how to mix the 2 together! I’ve never made an amigurumi ball so I was struggling a bit because I needed mine a little bigger. Just curious because this is new and because I’ve seen other patterns that are different, why do you sc in between?
You want individual sc In between the sts with two sc in the same st to make it so that you do not increase to fast or to slow. It makes it so it gradually gets bigger in a round way instead of being completely flat or to wavy ☮️💙🎶
