    JUST FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE A BIT CONFUSED AFTER ROUND 4.
    She just explained that if you want to crochet a bigger ball then you would make 1 single crochet in 4 stitches and 2 single crochet in one stitch for a round five. But she stopped in round four, so she continued to do the body of the ball and she explained that for how many rounds you did (with the single crochet in one stitch and 2 single crochet in the next and so on) that will also be the number of rounds you will do for the body of the ball. Just like what she presented, she stopped at round 4, therefore she did 4 rounds of single crochet to make the body. Simple. She just calculated that in that 4th row she made she has 24 stitches, and so if you do 4 rounds of single crochet then you will have a total of 96 single crochets for the body. (24 stitches per round× 4 rounds = 96 stitches) hope this helps!

    • @malagantfay1271
      @malagantfay1271 4 года назад +6

      So if I want to make a bigger ball, I just need to make more rounds? And then, for example if I make 6 rounds, I just need to make 216 for the body?? (36, from total of stitches in the last round × 6 rounds)

      @@joanlennon8586 Once you complete the 96 single crochet you should have 8 rows total. Next:
      Row 9: Single crochet in next 2 stitches, then do one invisible decrease. Do this pattern 6 times. You should now have 18 stitches.
      Row 10: Single crochet in the next stitch, then do one invisible decrease. Do this pattern 6 times. You should now have 12 stitches.
      Stuff the ball as much as you can at this point.
      Row 11: Do invisible decrease around 6 times. You should now have 6 stitches. Add more stuffing if needed.
      Fasten off and close the ball. I hope this helps. : )

    To avoid the bigger holes at the end, where you decrease, take only the first loop of every two stitches you put together. This way the stitches are pulled together more tightly and the back loops fill up a bit behind them.

    • @KatarinaS.
      @KatarinaS. 2 года назад +1

      Thank you, the gaps at the end of my balls were bothering me and I wondered if there was a solution. Just to be sure I understand, do you mean to only go through the front loops of the decreasing stitches instead of going through both loops? Do you do that with every stitch you decrease in the last few rows or just in that final row of all decreases?

    • @esthervanstapele7244
      @esthervanstapele7244 2 года назад +5

      @@KatarinaS. Yes I mean the front loops. I do that for all decreases (at least for amigurumi; for things like scarfs this is not always the best way to go because you want them to look good from both sides). When you take the front loop of the two stitches you put together, you end up with two loops on your hook and not four. Besides making it look better it's easier too. Those gaps were bothering me too before I found this trick, hope this will solve that for you too.

    Thank you! My balls came out perfectly round and so cute. I stuffed them with scrap yarn I save up from all my projects after weaving in the tails and snipping them off. I save those snipped yarn tails in a plastic sandwich bag... yes, they add up quickly and work great for stuffing (especially balls), and I don’t have to feel bad for wasting any yarn or spend more money on polyester stuffing, which always seems to crumble after washing and destroying the original puffy shape of stuffed toys or pillows.

    @cattcousins4282 3 года назад

    I don't understand how to get 24 stitches. I heard put 2 single stitches in the first and second stitch and then 2 single stitches in the third stitch. What's the difference? Did I hear that wrong?

    • @hippiegothqueen
      @hippiegothqueen 9 месяцев назад

      Yes, you heard wrong. This is a basic single crochet increase. 1 sc in 1st st, 1 sc in 2nd st, 2 sc in 3rd st. By adding an extra stitch, you increase the row. Because she started with 6 stitches, it's simple math to increase. It would look like this:
      Row 1: 6 sc in magic circle
      Row 2: 2 sc in each st (12sc)
      Row 3: 1 sc, 2 sc, repeat to end (18sc)
      Row 4: 1 sc, 1 sc, 2 sc, repeat to end (24sc)
      To make it bigger, continue to add a single stitch before putting a second single crochet in the same stitch. Every row will be a multiple of six because that is what she started with. Row 5 will be 30, Row 6 will be 36. You're adding one extra stitch per "section," so 6 extra stitches per row.
      When you decrease, you do 2sc together each Row, 6 times. The stitch count for each Row will decrease by six.
      This works with any number. If you start with 8, your row multiples will always be 8 stitches. Start with 10, 12, it doesn't matter.

    People who make tutorials seriously need to put themselves in the heads of people who don’t know what they’re doing (ie, everyone looking at a tutorial). She just blows through “make a magic circle” while she completes the action in about three seconds while the camera tries to focus. What? How about locking focus so viewers can see? How about pausing between each movement? How about going slow? Jeeeeeebus...

      You can use paper clips or Bobby pins! I also like to use a piece of scrap yarn that I “fold” into the first stitch of each round. Idk how to explain it lol
