Qistina Warren If you want to experience depression, live in Hobart. It's got nothing going for it. Terrible infrastructure, No jobs, bad traffic, unfriendly weird people, horrible convict buildings I could go on and on... I know this because I've lived here for 9 years. I can hardly wait to move back to Melbourne. Please, for your own mental health, DO not move to Tasmania. It's a nice place to visit but that's it. Also, if you're not the type who drinks excessively, smokes or who is footy obsessed, consider yourself an outsider. That's the culture here. I hope this has helped you.
There's been talk for years of reinstating the trams (Hobart was actually the first city in the southern hemisphere to sport an electrified tram network), however I think the hardest part would actually be retraining locals to use them. The Metro bus network has become so characterised by its tardiness, that cars have steadily become the city's preferred method of transport. In recent years, there's even been issues with city congestion and traffic jams - which is crazy for a city of only 220,000 residents.
@@gursaini5055 Absolutely, but the quality of the jobs readily available greatly depends on your area of expertise. There are lots of hospitality industry jobs, fisheries, etc
