The US Open is the final Grand Slam of the year and takes place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The 2021 US Open saw Russia's Daniil Medvedev and Great Britain's Emma Raducanu claim the men's and women's singles titles. It was both players' first major title, with 18-year-old Raducanu becoming the first-ever qualifier to achieve the feat. The 2022 US Open is scheduled to go ahead between August 23 - September 11.

Tough loss for agassi in US open 2004 & 2005 where he could win GS but eventually he found federer at opposite end & fed was too strong in his prime years. Agassi's career longevity from late 80's to early 2000's is really phenomenal. He was truly founder of modern day tennis.

The courts were also a lot quicker back here, by 2008 and beyond the hard courts were so much slower. It no longer suited guys with a big serve, volleying or a one handed backhand as winners were far fewer but rallies are protracted so errors rack up

I’m a big fan Federer fan, but I feel like this particular victory isn’t as amazing as everyone makes it out to be. He was defending his title against 35 year old Agassi, who was not only 11 years his senior, but dealing with an ailing back that compromised his mobility.
Yet, he pushed Federer to the limit and really made him earn his 2nd set win. On the final set, it was obvious that Agassi was gassed out.
When taking these variables into account, Agassi’s performance was far more impressive than Federer’s victory over him.

American audience always so loud, and it's also unclassy to yell "Go Agassi" or whatever when the opponent is serving. In other turnaments, it's much quieter when the players serve and prepare to serve, it's something you really notice when watching a lot of different matches.

Because medical technology has evolved, and tennis is now like formula 1 in the sense that a player is part of a large team whose job it is to manage the player as if he's a piece of technology himself.
