- The Flu Game Jordan 12s are an iconic shoe and Vick has already done some restorations on these kicks, but what sets this one apart? These are the OG 1997 release and as we have said before retros don't compare to the originals. We picked this pair up at eBay for a decent price, but with that price comes a lot of restoration work.
For the first step of the restoration it is the deconstruction phase, by taking apart the soles and midsoles. As well as removing the crumbling midsoles from the sneakers and the tabs you see on the sneakers. After the deconstruction part comes the fun part.... Prep work! Prep work is one of the most crucial parts of the job, but it is a time suck. Next it is time to replace the crumbling air units with EVA foam to keep the sneakers comfortable and wearable.
Next, we have more prep work to do to ensure that we can provide the best glue job possible. Reglues take a lot of work and they have to be precise to make them effective. We also went ahead and repainted the midsoles to ensure they matched the uppers properly and looked factory again.
Although this restoration was a simple ad straightforward process; everything seen in this video was 100% necessary to make bring these OG Flu Game 12s back to their original glory. After all the restoration steps were complete it was time to clean these sneakers and make sure that they shine; for an effective clean we relied on RESHOEVN8R as always.

This was so dope! Amazing work, as usual Vic! Bruh, "Flu Games" were my very first Jordan, I was like, 12 and wore them thangs OUT 😅. And Vic is right, current 12s feel nothing like those! Even the eyelets aren't the same.
The ‘03 Retros are solid and are considered to be the best and most true to OG form. All the other ones are meh at best. But if some people like the newer retros, or if that’s all they could get their hands on, I can’t be mad at them; I just hope one day they can come across an OG pair

I hate doing re glues I always have issues with to much slack in the toe area and it ends up not lining up right
Awesome work, Vick! What type of mask do you consider using when doing reglues with the barge rubber cement? A mask that doesn’t allow any of the fumes to be easily inhaled when using. Thank you!

I bought a zoom on eBay when I started heating the glue along with the zoom due to the fact that I left the heat gun on for quite a long time, the air block began to swell due to hot air, so never keep the heat on for a long time, otherwise the whole result will be in the trash, and today I finally finished this work

Yes! For the best results, you should cure them at least overnight!

For these purists that get triggered when Vic uses EVA foam to replace the air/zoom units, please stop.
They’re not readily available to buy as an individual part, so another shoe has to be bought and torn down just to get to the units. That’s money and a pair of kicks wasted for pieces that won’t even be seen, because they’re not visible air units like the 3’s-6’s.
If it bothers y’all that much, then donate some kicks to Vic. But if you’re not doing anything except complaining, shut up and get out y’all’s feelings.

1: 12’s use Zoom units instead of air units.
2: Air and Zoom units aren’t readily accessible to buy individually. Another shoe has to be taken apart to get it, and that’s more money to spend.
