In today's episode of Restorations with Vick, he will be working on these beat Concord 11s. Vick used our Essential kit to get the entire shoe cleaned. Starting with the soft brush, he cleaned the entire uppers ensuring he got the shoe nice and bubbly. Moving onto the midsole and outsole, he used the stiff brush to get those deep stains out. These shoes may not look like it from the outside, but you can tell whoever wore them REALLY loved these shoes. They're lived in and the owner wore them till they fell apart. Far better than letting your shoes collect dust on the box in a closet or on a shelf in your room to eventually dry rot.
The reglue process was my favorite part. Now I feel like I can take on a few projects of my own.
May favorite part was seeing how he fixed the bottoms with the salon 40… sheesh 2 weeks just to get them icy ❄️… just to see in general that they can be fixed . I’m glad I found this channel. hope I get those diors🤣

I always wondered why you never did 11’s but after restoring a few on my own I realized if there is anything wrong with the patent or the mesh there is little you can do definitely one of the hardest to restore

I liked that Vick is still humble enough to admit when he doesn't know how to do something in shoe restoration, even though he is so highly skilled. He was willing to call in someone who was more experienced in that area to learn from. Great lesson for people trying to achieve their goal.

I love how cool Vickalmighty is and I’d love to meet him in person to get some pointers on certain areas, I’ve been cleaning shoes for quite some time and doing light restorations on some personal pairs but of course there’s always more to learn and make things easier for a flawless result in the end
Vick actually knows how to re-glue the sole to the upper, he wanted to bring a special guest to do that part. Use to watch Vick in 2015/2016 and it’s a couple of shoes that he’s done the process.

Tbh I’ve never seen a beat up concord because of its status of how good the shoe is (by looks). I’ve known some shoe heads who customize and restore shoes and concords and other shoes are shoes they rarely worked on.

It’s a 21 year old worn shoe bro it was probably slightly yellow but with age it probably got to the point it turned that yellow the way the midsole and upper are that dirty tho they probably did that themselves tbh

It’s Easy Because OG XI’s Never Crumble It’s Going To Be Sole Separation In Certain Areas If Decide To Wear Use A Rubber Cement Glue & Heat Gun Then Apply To Areas That Need To Be Done To Make Them Wearable Again
I did the same thing i just used a boost insole to replace the air unit and it turned out very comfortable!

The dirt build up on some of these uppers seems kind of questionable to me like they took a mostly clean yellowed 11 and stomped in some charcoal just prior to the video. But if its real and some coal miner was wearing concords to work then mad props.

Because these shoes are made to look beat and dirty but in reality these mfs… go in eBay get some old 11s in decent shape and get them dirty hence why they always come out looking mid new the dirt is brand new that’s why it always comes out old shoes we’ll be stained for ever

Genuinely curious: what would this cost? Is it even cost effective to restore this versus buying a new pair?
Even if you only count the time spent on this, it's more cost effective to buy a new pair. Don't do a restoration like this unless you make minimum wage or the used shoes have sentimental value.

how do you get the creases out of the patent leather? i recently bought some bred 11s and i need to know for the future.

No real solution, best you can do is stuff the shoe and clean it. And while the shoe is drying it should push out the creases a tad

any tips on removing melted gum from patent leather ? 😭 tried everything without risking ruining the finish , but its only gotten worse
