    Thermalright at it again with the CPU coolers ! 🙂 Had one of these before for a low profile build and it behaved as well as one of the standy-up tower coolers....wasnt too loud either ! Still be used to this day if I remember correctly, cant fault it. Thanks for sharing, Mike and Kath.

    Heard a friend that removed the central wire support, not "obligatory", and used a slim fan under it, to fit in ~80mm clearance cases. And still gets 35mm RAM clearance this way, fit for some Lpx corsair, kingston hyperX, or any vlp kits. Awesome

Can't remember ever getting a bad part from them. Great review Mike and Lady Kath. Getting closer to the Saturday Live Stream. Take care all. Cheers

    I’m considering this cooler mainly due to the aesthetics as it gives a better visual when fans are pointed directly at the side panel like vertical gpus.

    I have the SI-100 Black version.
    I'm using it on the Ryzen 5 7600 non X. It's an excellent low profile CPU cooler.
    But on the AM5 platform it will depend on the Chipset driver you are using. In the tests I did on Cinebench23 for 10 minutes, I obtained the following results:
    - Chipset driver 5.02.19.2221 (february/2023): 71,6º/14470 points.
    - Chipset driver 5.05.16.529 (may/2023): 88~90º/14220 points.
    - Chipset driver 5.08.02.027 (august/2023): 78º/14340 points.
    All tests were carried out at an ambient temperature of 25º. With PBO (PPT 85W, PPTL 85 and CO -30).

      oh.. i'm looking for low-profile coolers to use for my R5 7600X... but your non-X version that consumes 88 Watts is already releasing ~80 degrees of temperature, what more if you will have the 105W version that has a PPT of more than 105-
      Really thank you for this important info, looks like finding a low-profile coolers are hard, I probably need to change a case

    From what I've seen on other reviews of downdraft coolers, if you were to use in your build the NR200 with an intake fan on the side bracket you would see much better temps.

    Hi Mike - if i'm not mistaken the 5900x that i have runs about 5 degrees cooler than the 3900x - that would help keeping the temp at + - 70 degrees on this cooler. Again thanks Mike for a good review and explanation .

    • @mikesunboxing

      if that is correct then i don't see any issues with using this, the key thing is getting cool air into the cooler in the first place and exhausting it out as quick as possible

    I just bought this one for my 12700k, prime 95, gives me 90 degress celcius, i know prime 95 is not realistic, aida 64, gives me around 70 to 80 only. Fs2020 gives me 50 to 65 some 70. Its a nice cooler, gives me clearance for my ram. Looks neat and good in pc unlike those tower type cooler. Performs well and its quiet. The cooler that it replace is cooler master 212 led, prime 95 is 100 degress right away, aida is 85 to 90 degress, fs 2020, 65 to 75 sometimes 80, big difference for a compact looking cooler. I recommend this cooler

  • @sourcilavise3788
    @sourcilavise3788 5 месяцев назад

    I'm getting one this week, definitely will try swapping with a T30. What is impressive is that with a 500g cooler (fan included), you have really close results to a U12S or the assassin king like you mentioned. I'm trying it because I have a down to up airflow MATX like case with the PSU deported at the front of the computer and I expect that maybe I can get the same results I have with my Alpenphon dolomit premium tower cooler and maybe better temps on the VRM. I will also try to put a 140mm TY-147B fan and check noise and temps. My 13600k is already undervolted at -0.05 but when I do frame interpolation on all cores the T30 gets noisy even if I'm just at 134W total CPU power consumption.

    • @sourcilavise3788
      @sourcilavise3788 5 месяцев назад

      Strangely, the T30 performs less than the stock fan (TL-E12 FAN). I couldn't test the TY147B because it's 26.5mm thick instead of standard 25mm so I'm getting a Noctua NF-P14r to test. When doing frame interpolation on all cores, I'm hitting 82°C with the T30 and 80°C with the stock fan. Checking the specs of the SI-100, the fan has better CFM at 2000rpm than the T30. I'm expecting getting below 80 permanently with the NF-P14r while slightly reducing sound.
      Just to say that a good downdraft can equal an equivalent tower cooler depending of the setup. My PC case is the ZZAW C2M with the acrylic side panel.
