I would like to see this method on coily and curlier hair textures. Many of the heads used are extremely similar in texture & density. The cuts and styles are impressive, so expanding the hair types would be incredible.
For people that say this would work on curly hair. Look up “deeper than hair” on RUclips. She does this on Afro textured hair. only thing she does different is use a serum with slip and detangle before going in with the paddle brush and concentrator nozzled dryer. The first time I saw this technique was on her channel and on black type 4 hair.
Thanks for adding that... I think this is the video you are referring to... ruclips.net/video/BsTz_n9cAqw/видео.html I like how she actually begins at the ends on the tighter texture... that probably helps so that the brush doesn't get tangled. That would also be beneficial for coarse fuzzy textures! I just learned something too :-)
I have used this technique since the early 2000's and I find this one to be easier than a round brush. Especially for me who has naturally thick curly hair, it does work and the time does go by faster. Round brush always made me feel tired and hurt my hand, I didn't want to deal with my hair. I'm so glad someone is actually showing this technique.
It works! I have thick hair and the wrap dry takes a little bit longer but the result is awesome. After a wrap dry takes a little work with the round brush if you wanna a very straight look. ❤️
For what they charge for hair styles these days....I do not want to speed "MY TIME" up. I do not want to rush back into the HONEY-DO's. I want to have a girlie moment to last longer then 15 minutes at $80.00!!! Here is another pet peeve....face me towards the mirror so I can watch how you got to the finished look. Love the hair dryer😘
Silvia Batalla from Australia love love your shows I'm watching preview as I have not been able to connect live so just know that I'm watching and I am so deeply grateful I just feel so Honored to be able to learn from the best in the comfort of my room at The Central Coast
The art of blowdrying has died over the years. This was standard stuff that was taught to first year apprentices way back when. The trouble is that these days a lot of younger stylists don't dry the hair fully and clients leave the salon with that halo of frizz.
Absolutely correct! We need to spend more time with our guests and share our knowledge for how to replicate the hairstyles that we create for them at home.
Where I go to school at aveda they want you to do everything with a blowdryer. Waves, straight, curls etc. and don't even really bother going much in detail over using flat irons or curlers unless the client wants an extra step. But I know what you mean because my hairstylist never wants to do a blowout she just rough dries it and always flat irons it lol
Yup one reason I quit getting my hair done 😔 I use to love to go to the salon but last few times my hair looked worse when I left! I stick to doing my own hair
i blew out my shoulder 😭25 yrs in the business and salon owner ....now can't work and weekly app at a pain clinic for nerve blocks.....they said it's from doing repetitive movements and it is the side i held my blowdryer in.....so all you new young stylists ..PAY ATTENTION to your form and how heavy your blow dryer is.... it CAN catch up with you and cause injury.😔💔💇
josiehairstylist thank you.... so sad watching all these videos...took my proffession so seriously and loved doing it. Wanted to be a stylist since i was 6 lol... I miss my clients so much.
megh malhaar awww thank you so much.it is sad ...I am sad. I miss my clients and doing hair ...the passion I had for my job was so real....and now its all gone....even my salon I closed. Its like I lost a part of me ...I did it for all my life and Didnt realize how it could injure you from doing repedative motion ..if I had im nsure I would of taken better percaution...and I don't want that to happen to anyone else ....anyways ...thank you so much.
Kittenpurrrs whenLoved ur Welcome dear. My mother runs her beauty parlour. She is a makeup artist , hair stylist . Does a lot of things. I've seen her working very hard for so many hours a day for many many years . I know how hard it is to constantly repeat same movements and how tiring it is. Lots of respect for my mom and u. I'm also very gud at bridal makeups. I'm learning hairstyling and hair cutting aswell. 😊
I love you guys, I really do. I bought the Sam Villa blow dryer and I absolutely hated how the cord kept tangling up and turning into a knot. This isn't rocket science, guys. I had to replace it with another dryer that, so far, outperforms Sam's dryer in the cord dept. Sorry guys. I'm not a fan of the blow dryer but I'm sure in love with the texture shears and dry cutting shears. They rock!!!
Sorry to hear about the dryer issue. That is not typical of our products. If you would, please send an email to our customer advocate team - info@samvilla.com - and we will make it right! Thanks for the comment!
Hey, Lance. Are you referring to the Sam Villa dryer? If so, it was just under $100. I literally hated the cord! All it did was tangle up into a ball hindering your drying time.
I actually love using a combo of a bristle paddle brush and a round brush on my curly hair and it gets it straight BARRING proper products in the hair. I've noticed really the big thing that changes the smooth finish to a blow dry session has little to do with the brush (having used quite a few kinds even combs) and a lot to do with products.
course hair isn't difficult AT ALL.....if you know what you're doing. I understand that some hairdressers don't have a lot of (or may not have ANY) clientele with course hair, so they may not know how to handle it. if you're VERY versatile and can do ANY hair type (from 1-4)...than you would know EXACTLY to deal with it. 🤷🏽 #imjustsaying
Hi Crystal, you are correct that it's not hard if you have the information and experience in that fabric. It's similar to our friends that work in Japan... when they have a guest that sits in their chair with very thin or fine hair, it makes them nervous because they are so well versed in extremely thick and dense textures. Who would have guessed.
AS IF YOU WOULD BUY EBAY EXTENSIONS - I used to and would have to buy a new set every 3 months or so becuase they just go so rank! I saved up and purchased from zala and have had my clip ins for three years and they are still in exceptional quality- Invest is zala they are not that expensive and they really are an investment!
I could never get this done with on my long hair and I don't think a hair stylist could either. Clipping hate really doesn't take all that much longer but it gives the person's hands doing the drying much more freedom.
rainbowboy starting at the nape blow dry the roots with a paddle brush pushing and over directing the hair upward and quickly working horizontally then vertically til you reach the crest, then return to the nape and start twirling that round magical brush.
rainbowboyu great suggestion above! by using a paddle brush to wrap dry the root area, you decrease the time it takes when you come back in with the round brush. Also, like we always say, slow down to speed up... a few very slow passes with the brush will get you to the end result much quicker
I personally rough dry to about 90% dryness and then go back in and round brush. I've seen many people round brush from very damp and it's just not how I want to go about it
Hello and thanks for your comment. You can purchase Sam Villa tools through your Canadian distributor. Locate yours here www.samvilla.com/pro/distributor-locator
Hi Sam & Andrew, love you guys!!! I'm from South Africa and want to purchase your products, please assist? Thanks very much for all the great tips & tricks ♥♥
Sam I am a mom of 4 Nd been cutting my family's hair and wondering is there a deal to buy your shears. I know you have for students and professionals, I wanna own your 7" shears 🙁
That's pretty fucking rude. Go rescue some more pugs and don't worry about how people try to save a little money because they'd rather have lights and running water over a luxury. For every person out there doing their own or their large family's hair there are 5 others willing and able to allow a professional to do it. Of course I wouldn't personally give my money to you, but I do give it to a woman who is a professional both in front of me and on the internet.
Dante Velasquez I work with a lot of ethnic hair and it absolutely works with curly hair. Technique is the key. Hair is hair. Try making your sections smaller nevertheless it speeds up your blow dry time tremendously!
The only way that would work on my hair would be for me to take tiny sections and over heat the hair to avoid a frizzy result which would damage the curl pattern and certainly wouldn't go fast. I wouldn't risk over heating any curly or wavy pattern for that reason and find the ceramic barrel brush does the best job.
You speak as if your talking about politics. It should be fun to educate especially when your speaking about beauty. Now I realize why youtube tutorial are effective and popular because these people make it fun. They don't teach like it's a job. Professionalism I understand but boy smile or smerk like it's a lil fun. IDK.
These videos are not made for ordinary people but for people who are learning to become hair stylists. This is going to be their job one day. Do keep in mind everyone enjoys different ways of showing how to do things. There’s a ton of people who absolutely hate the dumb music, screaming and shouting that all those “youtubers” are pretty much associated with.
I absolutely love Andrew. I get such a calm, cool, good vibe from him.
I would like to see this method on coily and curlier hair textures. Many of the heads used are extremely similar in texture & density. The cuts and styles are impressive, so expanding the hair types would be incredible.
Andrew, as always, clear concise instruction without annoying background music. Love It!

For some reason I can't dry my hair with a round brush to save my life!! It just tangles and I get all flustered🤣
That head barely has hair! i want to see this on someone with thick wavy or curly hair with this technique.
JeiCris777 search it up smdh
sensitive much lol
JeiCris777 you wish
JeiCris777 I KNOW RITE!!!
It works! I have thick hair and the wrap dry takes a little bit longer but the result is awesome. After a wrap dry takes a little work with the round brush if you wanna a very straight look. ❤️
I have a pretty decent hair dryer. Now I can use it more often and effectively, especially in Winter. Cool.

i'm in school now and they defiantly still teach blowdrying, we learn mostly how to do it so the hair dries curly instead of straight

Frunze42 my hair is all the way to the floor so it is super hard for me to dry my hair it takes at least an hour
is there a quicker way to blow dry with a round brush?

rainbowboyu after seeing with a towel, suck up extra moisture with paper towel
rainbowboyu round brush is better for curly, thick, and coarse hair
I personally rough dry to about 90% dryness and then go back in and round brush. I've seen many people round brush from very damp and it's just not how I want to go about it
How does blow drying hair helps to prep the hair?

Stay tuned! We just sent that exact video over to our editor! It should be out in a few weeks.

Hi l ma Paige love it
This is not for curly hair I'd be a frizz ball afterwards..
Thats great if you have hardly any thin hair lol lets make a video for extremely thick wavy hair! :)
how to reduce hair weight and how to get thin hair
yessssssss
this absolutely does not work when y have frizzy wavy hair Sir lol
that would never work with curly hair

exactly what I thought.
That mannequin has straight thin hair. This would never work for thick coarse curly hair. Clips are a necessity!
yes it will i have seen it i like your red had
Nope . I I have Diana Ross hair , it's like a jungle and if I do this , I wil go from Diana Ross to Cojack ...
and that's on curly hair
My clients love to have 15 round brushes in their hair, that is quicker than this technique with the paddle brush
cruelty free products would be a nice start
Warning - you will spend far too much time staring at your new locks in the mirror if purchase some ZALA hair extensions!
Ben Affleck??
Not my hair
Sam, ummmmm, that looks like any other handle brush...

That is so damaging, no no.
Deni Hatesyou drying with a hair dryer is damaging regardless of how you do it
wow so long winded and boring!
