My pops passed away while I was stationed away from home.. nothing will ever prepare you. It’s been 5 years and I still don’t go a day without thinking of him
Love to this listen to this song in private where no one can see me 😂 the “daddy I act tough but there’s a churning in my gut” line gets me every time.. I remember my brother leaving to Afghanistan and the memory of him and my dad hugging will always be in my mind. He made it home safe with a sound mind but just reminds me of that feeling that this could be the last time he will see his son and the last time I could see my brother. Nothing like a fathers love. This is my favorite Luke song forsure
Beautiful song and so true. I lost my Dad 3 years ago. He's still right here.. I love when a Cardinal comes to visit me in my backyard.. I always say "Hi Daddy.." and smile. Your reaction is very heartfelt.
This song hits hard My pops is on hospice stage 4 liver cancer nothing breaks a man more then seeing his father go thru this love you pops strongest man I know
So sorry for your loss. I also lost my dad on Feb 7. I told him the same thing, and about 20 minutes later, he took his last breath. This is a beautiful song.
My husband and I were in another state for the funerals of our cousins, ages 19 and 21. Motorcycle accident. Got back to our aunt’s home after the service and my brother called me. He hadn’t been able to reach our dad on the phone. He went to check on Dad and was dead in his home. I don’t remember much after he called me and told me to get a flight home. Our mom died 3 years ago after a botched cardiac angiogram at age 67. Dad just couldn’t live without her. This is the first time I’ve heard this song since Dad died and it was a gut punch. Great reaction.
This is one of my Favorites by him, I love this song.. He is about to have his second kid another boy. The last verse gets me every time. It's comming up on 10 years since I lost my daddy and it still feels like yesterday..
Great authentic reaction pal, so proud to see a man show his true emotions. ,Just found this song recently after getting on board the Combs train, o of the most beautiful songs that draws out emotion with every lyric. His songs have been around for some years now, even though I'm late to the party I'm so appreciative to have discovered this guy.
I love this song. I was just thinking the other day that I really liked his stuff and I didn't listen to him as much as I should. He's released a studio video of a few of his songs off his new album. I absolutely love "Where the Wild Things Are" .
First person I saw react to this that called it before listening to it all the way through. LOL Great job lol Luke Combs is one of my all time favorites for sure. His voice is like butter, so smooth and it is so soothing and calming. Sometimes I jam to his music, other times I sit and cry, but He's amazing! You should react to more of his songs for sure. A few to check out would be 1. Dive featuring Ed Sheeran 2. Where the wild things are 3. The kind of love we make
This song reminds me of "The Walk" by Sawyer Brown. My dad passed in 2011, even after all these years I wish I could pick up the phone and talk to him.
06/04/2019 is when I lost my dad... His heart just stopped pumping at 0730 as my mom was coming downstairs to go to work. Dad had to sleep downstairs cause his congestive heart failure wouldn't allow him to climb the stairs. I'll never forget that call from my mother telling me the news. I was in Las Vegas, NM about a 9hr drive from home. Me and my husband made it to my mom's front door in under 5 hours; police escort all the way home. As soon as my husband got into the parking lot, I jumped out and my mom almost dropped to her knees in the courtyard. She clung to me for dear life as my husband parked our car. This song makes me cry every. Single. Time. But I love Luke combs and this reaction is great! Keep up the great work, you just earned my sub. ❤
What a great song & you gave a wonderful emotional reaction from your heart. This song hits me hard. I'm the youngest of 6, the baby, & only girl. I thought Dad was Superman, just as most children felt, especially if your family was lucky enough to stay together. Daddy was a Veitnam veteran, & I went into the US Army as an MP. I absolutely hated Afghanistan & Iraq. I certainly wasn't a bad ass, front-line combat soldier because I'm female, but I did participate in convoy, gate security, female insurgent interrogations & overall detention duties. My biggest fear was not being KIA but captured, a POW, tortured, or SA. Radical Islamists tried to take out female soldiers because 1 of their crazy beliefs is that if they were ever killed by an enemy female, they wouldn't be martyred & receive their 72 virgins. Although, with all the gear we wore over there, it would be hard to tell a soldier's gender from a distance & we all kept our hair short or pulled back tightly. It was my Daddy who gave me the courage, strength, & resolve to keep it all together whilst in that hell pit. I blame myself for my Mamma's early death because she constantly worried about me. She would always say, having 5 sons & 1 daughter, I never dreamt that my baby girl would ever go off to war. Mamma was Daddy's high school sweetheart, & when Daddy was in Veitnam, Mamma constantly worried about him. The communication back in 1970 was completely different than when I was in the Middle East. At least I could Skype so my parents could see me & assure themselves that I was fine. My Dad & I both suffer from PTSD. I was in an incident involving a roadside IED & lost friends, but Dad was in the vast jungle, constantly fighting to survive just 1 more day. I lost Daddy in 2022, I kept it together for about 3 or 4 months to handle all of the nessasary arrangements. Then, I was hospitalized in the VA for about 3 months, I still struggle, but just like the song, even though Daddy left, he is & will always be right here with me. Sorry if my post was too emotional. We are all in this life together, & after we have served our unknown purpose, God sends for us to come home.
I would love to see you do a reaction to “The Father, My Son and the Holy Ghost” by Craig Morgan at the Opry. It’s so good that Blake Shelton had a single out and he told all his fans to push Craig’s song up the charts instead of his. It’s one of the best songs, and the story is amazingly heartbreaking but he said he would sing it live one more time. This may be the last time he sang it live. You won’t be sorry 😊

So sorry to hear that, prayers for your family and dad. Hang in there buddy. He raised a strong son.
Lost my dad Feb 7 to brain cancer. Had to tell him we'd take care of mom and be ok before he let go.
I'm so sorry for your loss ❤️ Cherish those memories and love on mom as long as you have her 🙏🏻

A father passing, that hole in your heart doesn't go away, you just learn to live with it. Prayers for your dad and his family from Northern Michigan.
I’ve reacted to this song so many times and every time it pulls my heart strings 😭
I kept singing this everyday, what a song! Thank you for reacting to this! 💯🤘🏻💙
I love Luke Combs. We saw him live in San Diego in Country Fest.

Great reaction to a great song! Huston we have a problem is a cool one to check out.
Luke Combes is fricken incredible. 💪
This song came out the same week my wives father passed. She was a definitive daddy’s girl and it broke her soul. This song will always be a hard one
