Apart from the heat wave we had one of the most important but also most emotional weeks in Positano - the 14th and 15th of August are very special days for our small village.
This video is not cut perfectly and there is no perfect music choice - this video is full with real "back round noise" for you. Leni helped me a lot in this episode and she told me exactly how to cut and what to say :-)

I consider you lucky, so your statement is strange to me, though I do understand, I think. But as a child, and to this day, I wished I had been born into the Catholic faith, as my cousins had been--the exquisite symbols and art, the powerful rituals with incense and chanting, and the music all spoke to me so deeply. There is depth to all of it and I think we humans need that, and the reverence that is felt and expressed--much more important at a soul level (in my humble opinion) than beliefs and rules we may agree or disagree or argue about . . .

And seeing the madonna rising up into the sky brought tears. So powerful to have the whole town present! I would so much love to be able to experience that whole celebration right there on that lovely piece of the Amalfi coast . . . which, as an old woman now, I likely never will. Reminds me so much of my childhood in Malta I was about Lenny’s age may be a little younger, celebrating, the feast of the assumption of the blessed Virgin Mary and the Maltese do it exactly the same on the same day. It’s a big feast with fireworks and so much celebration all the families and relatives and neighbours gathered at this beautiful feast💞 i’ve lived practically all my life in Canada, and I really relate with you and how you feel about your homeland and relatives there.💝

For me besides being the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary body and soul into heaven, it is also my dear mother's birthday so when I was at Mass, in my parish Church of St. Joan of Arc here in Queens, NYC I also remembered her, who died on Christmas in 2001. I very much participated with my heart in the procession in Positano. Grazie di cuore.

Lovely event and outing! When we visited Positano some years ago, we stayed at the Reginella, a few metres away from the Poseidon. We also had a lovely view from our room on the third floor, although no pool. How lovely to see so much faith. In Chile the 15 of August is also celebrated as a national holiday. The 18th century statue of Mary was so very beautiful. It's nice to see so many families come together for this feast day honoring the Virginia Mary. Even more special was the honor of Pepe to participate in the procession! Your city is a very special place.

wow very moving and beautiful celebrations of the Madonna. the concert was also very beautiful and stunning setting by the beach. Good to see rosie feeling better , leni looked a princess in her lovely dress which was the one she wore to the wedding of your friends in barcellona. My husband i and have experienced 3 easters in Sorento and we found the processions very moving emotionally . we are sorry we dont have these beautiful festa celebration's here in the uk
