We were lucky enough to see the original cast. Having the same name of the co-producer, Kevin McCollum, I debated going backstage using my name. I chickened out. HUGE regret today. We've seen RENT six times. There were some great shows, but we were spoiled by the originals.
As for the dog remarks.... Subtext people. Sometimes good people do awful things. Especially when they have no other option. Angel was just an Instrument. It was the lady who hired her and paid her to drum for hours who did the deed. Also, it wasn't like Angel went up to the apartment and booted Avita off the ledge. The dog technically offed themselves. Why am I even explaining this. Its Bradway! The Phantom Of the Opera was a manipulative gaslighting Killer. Don't see anyone harping on him!
I think participating in killing a dog who's just acting out naturally is inherently disgusting behavior no matter the circumstances, and should not be defended. None of that "but they're poor" there's millions of poor people who's in much worse conditions and still able to hold on to their morals. But because of the absurdity of how it happened and how it's being told, I just can't take it seriously and be mad. That's how jokes work. Its not a deep philosophical conversation, it's just meant to be a funny retelling of how this character killed a dog. And yes, you can argue that it's supposed to portray their struggle, but so does the rest of the musical, that's sorta what it's about. It's natural that those themes would come up in the songs

nice touch from Jonathan. Dog killers are some of the best characters! DIO, angel...
Thats really it. :/
In Angels defense, gravity killed the dog.
She was just playing the drums while it barked, the dog decided to leap off the balcony.
@@MurphNTurphEXACTLY! All Angel did was play her drums!
HAHAHAH
She was just standing outside the room waiting for her introduction
Of course. This is how the real queen enters the room!
@bowmanplays I mean she.

tbh the most impressive part of this scene for me was the box jump in heels onto the table at 4:14

Jermaine Heredia was the BEST pick as Angel! He really brought this character to life! ❤️🔥❤️🔥👏👏

To be fair, the dog sucked.

On the window ledge

Like Thelma and Louise did
When they got the blues

The courtyard of the Gracie Mews
Today 4 you
Tomorrow for me
Today 4 you
Tomorrow for me
Back on the street
Where I met my sweet
Where he was moaning and groaning
On the cold concrete
The nurse took him home
For some Mercurochrome
And I dressed his wounds
And got him back on his feet
Sing it!
