      i think they dd it to keep the series name trending on social media, search engines because people who actually liked to series has to constantly lookup the series to read about its release date. i even did that few times whenever i remembered about the series. There is always money behind these kind stunts. Its always the money. Not that "we gotta gib time to viewers process what happened!". If that's the case, why not just offer free counselling or better help subscriptions to viewers.

      True. Also, the animation isn't the best. I've never been one to harp on Invincible's mid animation in Season 2, but it's insane that they need to take this long for 4 episodes that have middle of the road animation, AND THEN PUT A WEEK BETWEEN EACH EPISODE. THEY LITERALLY HAVE THE STORY WRITTEN ALREADY. All they need to do is adapt it.

      I've noticed like all the voice actors are also having their hands full with live action movies or TV shows. And I'm sure the writers are working on other things as well. It's a great show it just doesn't have full hands on deck. They've kinda just been treating it more so like a hobby I feel like

      @Buboltz 2 месяца назад +8

      @@papawuise6820 I understand certain pieces of animation take much longer than others, but I feel like that isn't even really an excuse for the long wait times.
      Because some parts of the show aren't even fully animated, like Omni-Man dropping that guy for example, he was basically just dragged down with a mouse and theres been other instances like this where it's basically just still images that you don't notice immediately due to how much happens.
      Not to mention that the writers really don't have much to do, they already have the whole fleshed out story of Invincible as the base foundation, they aren't writing scripts completely from scratch because they already have basically all of the work there, they just revise and speed up the story mainly it seems like.
      It reminds me of how Rick n' Morty was whenever there was so much hype around it at the start, it took an extra long time for them to actually keep building on it.

      Once a week is pretty much arbitrary now, though. Used to be sites needed to be on a consistent schedule because if you missed it you just missed it. So once a week at the same time every week means people will catch on to when they need to check in. Now? If you miss it it's still there. If they're gonna release episodes spread out then they should make the time between episodes smaller. Every three days or something. Then when the "finale" part 1 came out. I felt juked because I didn't know it was in parts. If I had known, I would have just waited till all of it came out. But it was too late, I came to the unfinished end and found out. Part 2 finally came out, the momentum was lost and I couldn't remember the details. My experience wasn't as great as it could have been but that's ok, i didn't want to leave it unfinished. I got to the end of part 2 and found out there was going to be another part. I was disappointed, I gave up, I didn't want to be tricked again. By the time the third part did come out I have forgotten major parts especially in the beginning, I didn't want to continue. If I was to continue I would have to re-watch the entire thing, especially when the show references back to the previous events. I already went through re-watching it and didn't want to do it again.

And EVERY time it ended like this and I was so angry. Don't call it a "season" if it isn't one season. I hate this so much. "Mid season break" is not a thing if the break is more than 4 weeks, it just becomes a new season at that point. Which ironically would go down better with fans than mid season breaks. I think the only show I can think of that somewhat warranted (emphasis on somewhat) a mid season break was Breaking Bad season 5 but thats because the cliffhanger had been built up over 4 seasons and it made sense that leaving on that cliffhanger would build up hype for the series finale. As for AOT final season, I gave up after S4 Part 2 because I found out that there would be a part 3 and that wasnt even the end because then there would be a movie. In his right hand he held perhaps two hundred pages more - but they were not Proust; they were the cruel trick of some editor's notes and afterword. He felt cheated, swindled, denied a pleasure for which he had spent five years preparing. He went back twenty pages; he tried to build up the feeling again. But it was too late; that possible joy had departed forever."

I was on a rollercoaster in legoland london a long time ago, and they decided to maximise how many people were on the rollercoaster they would add carts. Instead of a set of people being on the ride as another prepared, there was a set of people preparing, whilst a set of people would stop at the halfway point, waiting for the last set of people to reach the end to avoid collision. Having the full series out completely eliminates this problem to me, and is the main reason I end up waiting for all parts to come out before I even start watching

We're in 2024, that shit should have been made obsolete years ago. I understand syndicated TV needed to do it, but in this modern day and age there's really no reason or excuse for it anymore, especially since most modern shows are streamed online first and foremost. If Netflix can do it then why can't everywhere else? If they release it all at once not only will people be able to watch it with the hype completely in tact. Sure it could be easy leaks for spoilers but that happens even with individual releases, and if you can watch it all at once you'll probably finish it quickly anyway.

On top of that, the story structure of the season was formatted in a way where there were clear breaks in that section of the story after each three episodes, ending with massive cliffhangers making you desperate for the next week. A week isn't that much time to wait, so it stays in the public consciousness and people continue to talk about it because they know more is coming very soon so its worth keeping in mind. It was two feature length movies in a row basically each week and all episodes were absolute fucking bangers. No hype killed, created a fuck load of conversation, and gave people time to catch up and not be left out. Masterful.

    • @seg162
      @seg162 2 месяца назад

      @@maskedman5657 Netflix had nothing to do with that. AOT's anime adaptation had production schedule issues throughout its run because it was always a resource-heavy endeavor that the production committee also wanted to have installments for as regularly and as frequently as possible, all while the primary studio working on it (Wit) either didn't have enough influence in said committee or wasn't able to be part of it at all. Wit also wasn't making much of their own money as a result of the aforementioned (regardless of whether Wit was part of the production committee, production committees generally congregate multiple stakeholders together to fund a production while minimizing losses-- but this also means that individual gains are less than they would be without one).
      The anime adaptation was ironically in a precarious position after S3P2 (ironically, because it's probably the most well-received installment of the anime adaptation), with Wit arranging to pass on the responsibility of adapting it and probably only Mappa being willing to step up. Even _then,_ they weren't able to adapt in one continuous go, because even then, Mappa had several other projects they were working on and AOT was always an anime with high standards.

    The biggest problem with this isn’t waiting 5 months for a new episode. It’s having to wait through a 5 months hiatus after watching weekly episodes. How often you release something doesn’t matter anywhere near as much as consistent releases. The quality does need to be there if you take longer to release to maintain viewership but if you release an episode 5 days a week and then suddenly stop releasing them for two weeks everyone will forget about you. If you release fortnightly from the start you don’t have the same problem.

    I don’t mind a week by week release schedule, for me it gets me more excited for the next week’s episode.
    HOWEVER, a case like Invincible is how not to do that style of release, if you’re gonna do a week by week release for an 8 episode season, just release the whole season over 8 weeks, or release two episodes a week for 4 weeks, it’s borderline anti-consumer to only give us 4 episodes of a series that people have been begging for more of since 2021 and then make us wait nearly 6 months for another mere 4 episodes. It’s gonna make people either lose interest, or wait until it’s all out and risk spoilers in the meantime.
    I can only assume Amazon is doing this on purpose to push free advertising from people complaining about it too. Or at least that’s my conspiracy anyway.

    The reason they had the mid season break was to allow the rollout of ad breaks mid show.

      @@hunterxhunter4396 iirc as of february, unless you pay an additional fee to amazon, you'll get midroll ads on your amazon prime content even though a person pays for amazon prime.

    Yeah I was super hyped for season 2 , got through the first 4 episodes and eagerly awaiting the next week to see episode 5 , not knowing that there was gonna be a 3 month break. Saw yesterday that it’s back and I said to myself “ true, I’ll get around to watching it”

    A good way to split it was how Arcane (League of Legends) did it. They split 3 Episodes per act everyweek, which in a way make each act kind of a movie. It's long enough for suspense and theorizing but not too long that it looses all hype but we know when the next batch releases unlike this chedule where it's completely random.

      I love the way arcane released their batches, it gave everyone a little break each week because you were essentially watching 3 movies, but the breaks didn't last to the point where you forget stuff. It also made sense narratively.
