Jason has a rare talent. Whiplash is a rather short after thought when performed. But Jason can take a Metallica favorite to such greater heights! His vocals, back-up or lead, can never be matched! Every musician is cut from different fabrics. Some can merely "play" these renditions but wherever Jason goes? He brings his Metallica roots! He kills it!

En mi opinión personal Jason es el mejor bajista que tuvo metallica, Cliff está muy cubierto por "la leyenda " en torno a el, rob es tecnicamente mejor quizás (aunque incluso el mezclador de ..and justice dice que jason era más técnico que cliff), pero jason era la base melodico-ritmica en vivo, nada se le va a igualar y james junto con lars no supieron ver eso nunca.

It’s both. Jason is a professional, as are James Hetfield and Robert Trujillo. That being said, a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Lars was never a good drummer, and now we can add “Lars doesn’t practice anymore” to that statement. A band with bad timing is bad band. Kirk is another one who no longer practices either. Plus he’s more of a Wah player and uses his guitar as an effect, and badly. On the other hand, Jason has hired professional musicians to make up his band. So it should be no surprise that the band NEWSTED sounds way better than Metallica.
A great way to tell people you don't understand drumming is by assailing Ulrich's drumming ability. He's one of the greatest of all time. He redefined metal drumming. Thanks for being forthcoming with your ignorance.

Don't compare James and Jason. How many energy and the life part did James invested in Metallica and Rock music and how many Jason? Elephant and little dog. They play music for different generations. When I was young I hate slow rock songs. I liked the speed in rock, everything is banging, the vocal doesn't sing, he screams like he has hemmoroids on his ass. But everything is changed, and I found cool in slow rock music. I don't like madness of drummer anymore. And I think that this old peppers from Metallica are the same cool, but for their generation. I'm russian, I grew up on their music, and also the bands like Gorky Park, Scorpions, and other cool bands of 70th-80th. I can't understand modern rock music but I respect the minds of people of the new generation who're growing up on that.

What you are referring to is the writing credit, which indicates that the song was thought up by, lyrics written by, or musical ideas composed by, the person(s) with the writing credit. Dave Mustaine helped form Seek and Destroy, especially with his solo, and had a lot of the influence on Fight fire with fire. He doesn't have the writing credits however. Similar, Jason did a lot of influencing work on Load/ReLoad, just not the writing credits which means he didn't contribute enough to get one.

Actually, it was the other way around - James and Lars did most of the writing on Justice and the black album, and opened up to Jason and Kirk to be be more creative and influence the writing on Load and Reload (they were considered replacements in Metallica, hence the exclusion on earlier stuff).
