    Wow!, this was 10 years ago! Here's what I did: I had a bag of shredded cabbage, dumped it out and chopped it down, I shredded 1 large carrot and chopped 'fine' a small sweet onion, added those in the bowl with cabbage, grab another bowl and add some mayo, 1/2 to 3/4 a cup (I just eye'd it), add some vinegar about a 1/4 to a to a 1/3, (apple cider vinegar is better), squeeze some lemon juice, I just used what I had left about 2 tsp., add some sugar (I use raw), about 1/2 a tblsp., I just prinkled on some onion powder, paprika, salt and pepper to taste and a couple shakes of nutmeg, mix up real good and then add it to your cabbage, mix good! Note: I used a 14 oz. bag of shredded cabbage, which had some carrot already. That is the first time I made that! The taste had me coming back for more! 😄 Make it your own, add a little more of each if it's not the consistancy you like.....Hope this is helpful.

    • @hlloyd-fs4uf
      @hlloyd-fs4uf 4 года назад

      It's not that hard to see the amounts that are used here. Make it to taste, if you want more of one flavor add it and mix well, or add more or less next time you make it. Often the measuring utensils 'keep' half the ingredients anyway, it's a waste to use them, I'd rather have the spices in the dish than have to wash them off all the measuring utensils. You can create some great dishes by varying amounts of ingredients, and that is the fun part, and you can proudly call it your own recipe. My dressing is probably different every time, and really good. Most of all though, I love, love love Jimmy's Cole Slaw Dressing, but it is not available here.

    Another cool thing to do is to simply add the ground up cabbage, or whatever it is, to thicker soups, stews, or to softer veggie or meat dishes in your meal. You get the fiber without any extra trouble which is good for cleaning out the gut, and removing toxins, and wiggly things and doesn't affect the taste of your softer cooked foods much, in fact it increases taste in a good way. It's nice to eat all salad stuff at one time, but if you're short on time or teeth, this incorporates a salad into your main dishes and you don't need to worry about salad dressings. It's a real boost for people with bad or missing teeth as they tend to eat only soft, mushy foods which can ferment and create toxins and homes for parasites in the gut which is now being linked to cancer. In some videos, people are using dog dewormers to get rid of cancers as the theory, which was popular over a hundred years ago, is that Cancer and other illnesses are caused by worms. Raw fiber such as cabbage scrapes parasites off the stomach lining and gets rid of em. Sorry that the subject is a bit much.

    A recipe channel where the recipe is a secret! 🤣🤣🤣 Good joke!
    Here is what I will be making:
    Finely shredded cabbage, some grated carrots, very finely sliced green onions, fresh chopped coriander leaves.
    Mix Apple Cider Vinegar with honey. Taste. Add more of either one till balanced out as sweet/sour perfectly.
    Mix Mayo with vinegar mixture, and this should be barely runny. It will get more runny as cabbage wilts from the salt.
    Take mortar and crush some black mustard seed finely and it should be pungent. Toss into Mayo.
    Crush some black sesame crudely and toss into Mayo. Not fine, but very coarse.
    Add black pepper, sea salt, finely crushed annatto (achiote) for color, fresh grated or powdered horseradish (just a tad for zest).
    Optional is dillweed leaves - fresh is always better than dried. Not sure of the flavor profile with dillweed, so taste a bit first.
    Balance out the flavors of salt, vinegar, and honey. It should be slightly sweet, with a mustard/horseradish tang.
    You don't need oil since mayo has lots of it.
