Just hearing Odysseus screaming his soul after 7 more years of torture away from Penelope and Telemachus on top of all the other baggage just sings to everything that tragically happened in epic so far
It absolutely crushed me. He had become so numb to the world that he let anything happen during those 7 years. Until one night he just couldn’t take it anymore. Would’ve appreciated a TW, but it’s still a good song. Shows how desperately he wants it all to end, and how delusional Calypso is after being alone for so long. I’m sorry, _incredible_ voice actress, awesome, but if you think he’s stable enough for anything? You a bit delulu
Each scene she’s seeing are songs where a piano has been present. She’s able to bounce around through his vision since she was his patron goddess. She can go through everything he’s been through.
Athena absolutely breaking my heart singing Odysseus' run from warrior of the mind so much in We'll Be Fine. And her mentioning that she can't sleep now, especially considering Odysseus mentioned not being able to sleep after all he'd done, it's a beautiful parallel. I'm so glad she learned, but lord, I'm so sad for Odysseus. Crying out for her when he has nothing left. I also think her seeing him reduced to a broken man sacrificing his whole crew really put into perspective how much he lost that she could have prevented. Sure, he was going to make mistakes. But with more guidance, he might not have wound up the shell of a man that he is at this point. I can tell it really hurt her to see the warrior she created stripped down to nearly nothing.
And when the WOTM piano changed to Legendary’s theme when she held Telemachus. She pushed herself up like “No. I owe this family. No matter the cost.” My _heart_ , dude. I don’t know if anyone will recover from this saga
@@icemagiciangh Seriously. I know there are no lyrics for it, but when I listen I can't help but sing, and I've come up with "Maybe one day I'll reach him and we can build his skills as I teach him. tbh I love the genuine horror Athena has on her face when she sees Odysseus consign the crew to death. Like she's realizing what she turned her friend into.
YOU DID IT SO EARLY OMGGGGGG 😭 Edit: also Apollo is the god of the sun, music and archery, Hephaestus is the god of forgery and fire, ares is the god of war and hera is the goddess of woman, marriage and the stars and is Zeus sister and wife,
@@KingsBard Technically, yes, but technically no, I mean, Apollo is the god of the sun, but he didn't have the job of carrying the sun like Helios, he was more the sun in a symbolic way than physically like Helios.
One sweet little nod in "We'll Be Fine" is that Athena is singing Odysseus's harmony for Warrior of the Mind and not her own showing how Odysseus has changed her.
Ares and Athena have a sibling rivalry because he’s the god of war, and she’s the goddess of wisdom but also war. They’re two sides of the coin, Ares represents the violence and passion of war, and Athena represents the cold strategy and tactics. That’s why she got especially pissed off at him LOL
Here's a little info about the gods in "God Games": Apollo is the god of the sun, music and poetry. He cared more about the lives of the sirens because they are known for singing to their victims so they can kill them. Hephaestus is the god of blacksmiths, volcanoes, metalwork, sculptures and anything of that sort. He says "trust is not given, it's forged" because he's the god of craftsmanship. Aphrodite is the goddess of love, we all know that. She mentions Ody's mom because she died not knowing what had happened to her son. Ares is the god of war and anything violent. He hates that Ody never faces his enemies and Athena tells him "to get back to his homestead, he'll make everybody bleed" because Ody will do anything to get back to Ithaca and because of the suitors who want to marry Penelope and are threatening Telemachus. Hera is the goddess of marriage and family. She is married to Zeus and if there's one thing Zeus is famous for, its sleeping around with any woman who breathes (which she obviously hates since she's the goddess of marriage). When Athena mentions that Ody hasn't cheated on Penelope, Hera is immediately convinced. Zeus is the god of lighting and the sky. He is the King of Olympus and therefore is the most important and powerful god. He also has a very big ego
Calypso is the daughter of Atlas a titan, Atlas was forced to eternally hold up the sky after the titanomachia. The titanmachia was when zeus and the 12 olympiad gods dethroned Chronos and the rest of the titans.
Funny thing is that Hera let Oddy go since he didn’t cheat on his wife because she’s Zeus’ wife, and like half of Greek myth is caused by Zeus cheating on her and having demigod children
@@crow9582none of which was consensual on Ody’s part, Circe literally had his whole crew hostage and would’ve killed him, and Calypso literally forced him into bed
@@crow9582 Yeah.. netiher of those were consensual in cannon versions of the epic. Circe's section can change depending on the translator but MOST keep it as "I'm going slaughter your friends if you don't" which we should all be able to agree IS NOT consensual.
Wonderful timing my guy! Just got finished watching Jorge’s livestream on the wisdom saga and I’m still trying to process on what the heck just happened! I’m still really excited to see what happens in the next one once it comes out!

Holy crap dude. Theres not another reaction channel that puts a smile on my face like yours. Seriously! Your reactions are perfect! I love how you get super psyched and then an intense moment happens and youre like "oooh" 😧
You know I still find it odd to realize the “reason odysseus started to hear the voices” was because Calypso had said and I quote “stay in my open arms” which were the last things politics had said in the underworld, but that was also what he was thinking when he died
I got to say I love the little comments you do when the songs are actually playing, you're like asking your questions while the song is playing and just like giving you two cents into them they're so awesome and definitely a hype Man Too🥰
Goddesses might not be able to die, but this is Zeus we’re talking about. The King of All Gods. If he tried to kill her, I wouldn’t be surprised if he succeeded. I’m absolutely devastated and still in denial, but the lights went OUT in Athena’s eyes. And Ody will never know she sacrificed herself for him… he might now she got him out of Calypso’s grasp, but not that she died…
I'm not sure if Jorge will make it like that, but normally no nothing can kill them, not even Zeus. They can wound each other but they'll recover eventually. That's why when an immortal steps out of line they usually get punished with imprisonment for some time. Like when Hera almost got the world destroyed so Zeus had her hung above the flames of Khaos
Love your reactions it’s always so fun! The battle between ares and Athena is so intense cuz they’re both gods of War, Ares focuses more on the brute strength while Athena is more “warrior of the mind” type of warrior. Using strategy and etc
Apollo: God of the sun, poetry, archery, music, dance. Ares: God of war, courage. Aphrodite: Love, beauty, fertility. Hephaestus: artisans, blacksmith, carpenters, craftsmen, fire, metallurgy, metal work, sculptor. Hera: Women, marriage, child birth. (Hope this helps.) ^^
@@AHorrorFanaticYou are correct. But also she is the daughter of Hera and Zeus. Hera is the protector of childbirth. (I did not specifically say that so I apologize.)
okay, so this whole story takes place after the end of the trojan war (highly recommend the movie troy with eric bana, is aces) which took 10 years. so ody left ithaca when telemachus was a newborn, the war ended (and the musical begins) 10 years later....but the story of the odyssey (or epic the musical) takes place 10 years AFTER the war, so ody's been gone 20 years this point. in all that time, his wife penelope has been hanging onto the throne for him, but the nobles are getting impatient: from what i remember, their society elects their kings for life, but penelope will not declare ody dead. so while telemachus is a prince, he's not necessarily the next in line for the throne. the nobles dont like a single one of themselves enough where theyd vote for him, so theyre trying to force penelope to marry one of them (thereby indirectly declaring ody dead). foir the last 10 years (since the big storm song), the nobles have forced themselves into the palace and forced penelope's hospitality to try and get her to make a choice. ancient greeks were HELLA about hospitality; remember, the vast majority of ody's loyal fighting men went to war with him....there are very few people who are around ithaca at this point to protect penelope, telemachus, and ody's sister ctimene (who married eurylochus, just to make the knife twist in).
I was thinking that, the fact that just one song before we had the line “Goddesses can’t die!” from Calypso seems to clear it up. That’s seems too obvious of a line in hindsight, tho it is Zeus
Gods can't die. However Zeus can and has strippen a god of their immortality atleast twice. Once when apollo staged a coup and once when apollo mad at zeus for killing his son killed the cyclops the forged zeus thunderbolt because he obviously couldn't fight zeus
So, zeus is the god of the sky, thunder/lightning, law and order, but the crazy part of all of this is that he does all of this to her DESPITE her being his FAVORITE daughter. (Story goes that she sprung from his head fully grown in a suit of armor. Also- goddess of wisdom).

Okay, so Apollo is the god of health, disease, and music. Hephaestus is the god if fire, volcanos, forges, and blacksmithing. Ares god of war and battle. Hera is Zeus wife, goddesses of fertility.
Just so you know who everyone is the god of: Calypso- renowed beauty nymph Apollo- sun and music Hephaestus- of fire, volcanoes, forges, and blacksmithing (canonically has a leg injury which at the time was an allegory for 🍆 injury also married to Aphrodite) Aphrodite- sexual love and beauty Ares- war (banging Aphrodite despite her being married to Hephaestus he doesn't know) Athena- war battle tactics often gets into conflict with Ares (battle tactics vs thirst for murder bloodlust) Hera- Marriage, women, childbirth (thats why she is impressed by Ody not cheating) Zeus- sky (leader father of basically everyone here except calypso lots of thunder and lightning imagery)
18:38 Yes Zeus is the Strongest god period. He is the King of the gods and god of the sky and heavens as well as Justice (he constantly abuses his position, because that is what kings were expected to do). The other gods in this video are: -Apollo: god of Light, healing/sickness, archery, music/the arts, and prophecy. He is a child of Zeus -Hephestus: god of the Forge/crafts, Fire, Cripples/rejects, Volcanoes. Is a child of Hera and maybe Zeus (changes with the version), also is crippled and dislikes most people really. -Aphrodite: goddess of Love, Beauty, Passion, etc. Is married to Hephestus but constantly cheats on him (might be divorced depending on the version of the myth) particularly with Ares. She is either a daughter of Zeus or sprung the foam from the original sky god (Ouranos) being castrated and his balls falling in the ocean. -Ares: god of War, Bloodshed, Fear/Terror, courage, soldiers, chaos, honour, and rage. He was the more physical side of war while Athena was more planning/strategy, and was one of the least well liked gods (because no-one likes a bloodbath). He is Zeus's least favourite child and the lover of Aphrodite. -Hera: is the queen of the gods, goddess of Marriage, Royalty, and the sky/heavens (albiet to a lesser extent than Zeus). She is Zeus' wife, and he constantly cheats on her which she tends to react to by attempting to kill/curse his children and the people he cheats on her with because she isn't powerful enough to hold him accountable so tends to get a bad rep. She is still one of the most powerful goddesses. -Calypso: is a very minor goddess/powerful nymph (the lines blurr a lot) who lives alone on the island of Ogygia and is rather obsessive about people who arrive. Also for some more information on Athena: she is the daughter of Zeus first wife Metis, whom he swallowed because of a prophesy that if Metis had a son they would overthrow Zeus, thereby avoiding the prophecy and leading to Athena being born inside Zeus and leaving from his head fully grown as an adult. She is the goddess of Wisdom, War (representing the more refined side of war), Strategy, Commanders, Heroes, the Arts, crafts, and glory. She and Ares dislike each other, and she is either Zeus' favourite or second-favourite child (with he half-sister Artemis: goddess of the hunt and wild). She is particularly well known for having a soft spot for heroes and guiding champions she likes (e.g. Perseus, Diomedes of Thrace, and of course Odysseus). Extra info on other gods in Epic: -Aeolus is a minor god that Zeus basically delegates control of the winds and weather to under him. -Hermes: the god of Tricksters, Cunning, Travelers, Thieves, Messengers, Boundarys, and all who make their life on the Roads. He is a son of Zeus, and is also the great-grandfather (I think it was just one great) of Odysseus on his father's side so has a bit of a soft-spot for him. -Poseidon: "Earthshaker, Stormbringer, Ruler of the Boundless Sea, Saiviour of Sailers, and Swallower of Ships" are all titles of him. He is the Older brother of Zeus and the god of the Sea, Horses, Earthquakes, Storms (honestly pretty much natural disasters in general), and sailors. He also has connections with Rivers, and to a small degree the Dead (although less than his Elder brother Hades, in some myths Poseidon takes the souls of those that die at sea). He is known to be very tempremental and changible in mood in Greek myth (mimicking how the sea can change from calm to Storming in an instant without warning) and is probably the most powerful god besides Zeus (and maybe Hera) to be in the musical, also most Cyclopses and many other monsters are his children. -Circe: a minor goddess, a daughter of Helios (and sometimes Hecate) who is an extremely powerful witch in addition to being a nymph/minor god. -Helios: the sun god, often conflated with Apollo, has a herd of immortal cows that he is VERY protective over which Odysseus' crew come across in Mutiny. In the Odyssey text he threatens that he would take the sun into the underworld and never bring it back if Zeus doesn't punish Odysseus and crew foe killing his cows, which is why Zeus is the one to punish them in Thunderbringer (in his role as god of Justice). -Scylla: has a few different origin stories but my favourite is that she was a nymph that a guy which Circe had a crush on wanted Circe to magically get to love him, so Circe cursed her out of Jealousy to become a six headed monster that eats people. Lives close to Poseidon's daughter Charybdis (a Whirlpool monster that hasn't showed up yet in the musical), which may be the reason he is supposedly "scared" of her (Charybdis was cursed into her motionless, monstrous, form, by the gods because she had a habbit of driwning islands to spread her Father's kingdom, so Poseidon may feel responsible for her state and avoid her).
I don't know if someone has said this already, but Calypso is not technically a goddess, she's the daughter of a titan, which are the precedents of gods. like, the king of titans, Chronos, is the father of Zeus, who is the king of gods. Calypso is not the goddess or titan of anything though, she just lives in this island that is enchanted so no one can find it on purpose or leave it without external help. Also, Athena is Zeus' daughter, so him almost killing his own kid (which in tha myths, was his favorite daughter!!) is WILLLD. Antinous and the rest of the suitors were a bunch of men (108) who tried to win the heart of Penelope after Odysseus left for war, and she manages to stall for 20 years before she is forced to make a decision. Then she makes a challenge, but I'm pretty sure Jorge will cover this in the next sagas, so I won't spoil you 😂😂 Hope this helps!!
likewise, aeolus wasnt really a god in the original odyssey. but theyre said to be gods rather than have to deal with all the clunky wording of "calypso, daughter of a titan, but like doesnt really have any powers and is just imprisoned on an island" or "aeolus, completely mortal king of aeolia who is also the keeper of the winds and has 12 children that all married each other." zeus almost killing his daughter is far from the most wild greek family stuff, considering his wife hera is also his sister LMAO
@@kazazalea7747 nah the siblings all marrying and hooking up with each other is the least of my worries when it comes to greek mythology. remember when Zeus swallowed Athena mom Methis whole, and then birthed Athena from his head? or when Hera had a baby all by herself and then proceeded to yeet him off Olympus bc he was born ugly? anyway, I just mentioned it's kinda wild that Zeus tried to kill Athena bc she was definitely his favorite daughter, and he has actually killed others to protect her.

Since you said you didn't know the gods mentioned: Apolo is the god of sun (He was mad about the kill of the sirens because he likes music. Fun fact, his harp was given by baby Hermes when he stole Apolo's sheep) Hephaestus is god of blacksmiths (Unsure about his inclusion here, but he was voiced by Jorge's dad and that's cute) Ares is the god of war (He was upset because Ody didn't kill more, which why he was convinced about 'he'll make everybody bleed') Aphrodite is the goddess of love (Who was upset because he 'let his mother die of a broken heart') Hera is Zeus' wife (Dunno what she could be mad about but she was glad about the no cheating since Zeus has cheated on her with everyone and everything) ✨ Zeus is the god of gods who rules the sky (His brothers: Poseidon rules the sea, and Hades the underworld) Also, Athena is Zeus' daughter, but she has no mother since Zeus was the one who 'birthed' her from his forehead...? Greek mythology is as wild as it can be.
Since you didn’t recognize a few of the gods, heres a brief explanation of them and every god we've seen in epic! Athena: Goddess of wisdom, strategic warfare, and crafts. She's the daughter of Zeus and is supposedly his favorite child. Hermes: God of travelers, merchants, thieves, orators, boundaries, roads, athletes, shepherds, commerce, speed, cunning, language, wit, messages and countless other things. He's the messenger of the gods and son of Zeus with Maia. He's one of the gods we see constantly nowadays through his symbols, and sometimes statues! Poseidon: God of the sea, rivers, storms, floods, destruction, earthquakes, and horses! Brother of Zeus and father of the Cyclops(several actually) Aeolus: Minor wind god! In myths, he's someone the major gods favor. Calypso: Minor nymph Goddess of water. Some sources call her a goddess of beauty too. Circe: Minor Goddess of magic, also sometimes called a nymph, witch, or sorceress too. She's the daughter of Helios and a nymph. Helios(mentioned, the sun god who's cattle were killed): The god of the sun. As in literally the sun. Technically he's a Titan. Apollo: God of light, music, poetry, prophecy, plague, archery, and many more. He's Zeus' son with Leto, and twin of Artemis(goddess of the hunt and moon). He's also a sun god but in the sense that he moves the sun across the sky. Hephaestus: God of Fire and the forge, he's also Zeus' son with Hera. He was described as being extremely ugly and Hera threw him off of Olympus for that, which led to him becoming disabled. Aphrodite: Goddess of Love, Beauty, fertility, and physical pleasure. She's married to Hephaestus, but she has an affair with Ares. In some stories, she's also a war Goddess. She was created from sea foam. Ares: God of War and courage, son of Zeus and Hera. He is, funny enough, Zeus' least favorite child apparently. But also, he is a protector of women and children. Hera: Goddess of marriage, women, and fertility. She's Zeus' wife and the cheating comment is because he constantly cheats on her. She's the mother of Hephaestus, Ares, Eileithyia(childbirth), and Hebe(youth)! Zeus: God of thunder, lightning, law, sky, and order. He is the king of the gods, husband of Hera, brother of Poseidon and Hades(underworld god), and father to... countless children. If I missed any gods, please let me know
Hay so, I saw that you didn't really know who the gifs where I thought I’d fill you in lol Zeus is the king of the gods, he's the god of the sky, Athena, goddess of wisdom Apollo, god of the sun, music, sickness and healing. Aphrodite is the goddess of love, platonic and romantic. Hephaestus is the god of fire and blacksmiths Ares is straight up the god of war. And Hera is the queen of the gods, Zeuses wife, the goddess of marriage, family and women.
Zeus is like the King and he is also Athena’s father. She is his favourite. Apollo and the rest are just Gods, they were part of the game. Also, Calypso sings „Last I checked, goddesses can’t die” and Athena is an heir to the throne after Zeus - let’s just pray Athena is badly hurt but alive 😭
Apollo is the sun god and one of the archery gods, hephestus is the blacksmith god, ares is the god of rage and war, and hera is the wife of zeus, known as the goddess of fertility and marrage
Apollo - god of music, archery, healing, symbol of the Sun which he pulls across the sky in his chariot Hephaestus - god of the forge, blacksmith, fires, and volcanos Ares - god of war/the spirit of battle, courage, etc. Hera - goddess of marriage, family, childbirth, and queen of the gods (sister-wife of Zeus)
For context on the gods you don't rlly know of Apollo: God of Poetry, Music, Sun, and Light (The sun god whose cows they killed is Helios, a much more powerful Sun God) Hephaestus: God of Volcanoes, Forges, and Blacksmithing Ares: God of War (he more represents the brutality of war, while Athena, his sister, represents the more strategic side of it. It's why he sees Odysseus' plan of the Trojan horse as cowardly) Hera: Goddess of Marriage, Motherhood, and Childbirth (She is also Zeus' WIFE, who he cheats on regularly. Hence why Athena saying Odysseus is loyal makes her immediately wanna let him go)
Let’s give a little mythology class for this man. Zeus- God King, God of the Sky/Storm Hera- Queen of the Gods Ares- God of War (Chaotic War to be specific) Athena- Goddess of War/Wisdom (she fights war for peace and honor) Hephaestus- God of the Forge/Blacksmiths Apollo- God of Music and The Sun Aphrodite- Well you know… And yes Zeus is by far the most powerful Greek god although there are a few gods who could rival his power he is the top when it comes to hierarchy.
This might be late but I might as well throw in some mythology info your way since you seem to not know much about the Greek myths. Calypso is a goddess by technicality. Her father's Atlas, a titan that has held up the sky by himself for millenia and her mother's an ocean nymph, making her also a nymph but an immortal one. Her island is kind of cursed, people can't intentionally find it (well, some gods can) and it's basically impossible to leave unless she lets you since she's still stronger than a common man. Athena, goddess of war, strategy, architecture and a bunch of other smart things, is also known to be heir to the throne of olympus if Zeus somehow dies. She is normally his favorite because she's very faithful and dependable. She also directly oposes poseidon, one of the big 3, which should tell you that she means business . Ares is a god of war and destruction, while athena is the smart combatant, ares is the realist combatant. War is chaos and fire and bloodshed, not a clean table with figurines you push around. He also stands somewhat in oposition to athena most of the time since they have different views on just about everything, and this is why he hated Odysseus who was a witty and tricky fighter instead of being like Heracles or Achiles and just running straight through the enemy every time. Apollo is the god of a billion different things to the point where he and his sister Artemis could very well be a pantheon by themselves. He represents the sun, taking over from Helios who is the actual sun, medicine, disease, archery, art, foresight and so on and so forth. In the Odyssey he was actually on the side of the trojans together with his sister, Aphrodite and Ares, so they would normally have a lot of reason to dislike him, but here that part was mostly taken out, so he only really cares about the sirens since they sing continuously, but he understood that they needed to learn to not be so brazen and accepted Athena's reasoning. Hephaestus is a super cool god. Son of Zeus and Hera, the actual legal husband of Aphrodite, though she cheats on him all the time so it's really just a political marriage as they're both in the ranks of the 12 olympians. He's the blacksmith of the gods, god of the forge and fire and creation. He makes a bunch of cool tools for the gods and weapons for heroes, and even had the 3 Ouranian Cyclopses, which are the cooler version of Posseidon's Cyclopses, who built the symbols of power for the gods. They invented Zeus' lightning, and without them he has absolutely zero lightning powers. As for Zeus being the strongest, he kind of is the strongest Olympian. He will fistfight everyone and win, he was the only one who even stood a chance against Typhoon, and even he lost without his lightning. However there's older and scarier gods that Zeus doesn't want to anger and gods that he just gives deference because of how much harm they can cause. All olympians for example are a bit scared to annoy Hades, because he really chills in the underworld and is very focused on his job, but can be extremely cold when you trample his domain and just attracting his attention causes one to feel dread. Zeus explicitly left Hypnos, god of sleep and dreams, alone despite said god annoying him to the point where he felt like killing him, only because Hypnos ran to his mother, Nyx, goddess of the night. Zeus does not want to anger Nyx because she's basically an eldritch monster, one of the first handful of devine beings and someone with powers so mysterious that he can't do anything about it. Anyway, but yeah, Zeus killing Athena is 100% possible. He killed her mother after all without a second thought.
21:45 idk if she was worshipped much in Ancient Greece, with her island of Ogygia and her part in Ody's story being her main shticks. Her father is the titan Atlas, forced to hold up the sky(who is Atlas's grandfather, don't ask).
'Never once had he cheated on his wife' worked so well as a reason to convince Hera because Hera is married to Zeus
she's also the goddess of marriage and the family, which makes her husband being _zeus_ even worse... although also culturally appropriate >.>

As a Greek myth fan, was a bit triggered this guy dont even know who Apollo, Ares, or Hera are 🥲
(Hephaestus is sorta hardcore knowledge, next to Hestia)
If this wasn't a musical and it needed to sung, we would've heard the most primal, anguished screams to ever exist
Each scene she’s seeing are songs where a piano has been present. She’s able to bounce around through his vision since she was his patron goddess. She can go through everything he’s been through.
YOU'RE SO RIGHT OMGG

Don't forget ScillaDraws.
We were all in pieces at THAT scene.
No matter the cost.”
My _heart_ , dude.
I don’t know if anyone will recover from this saga
@@icemagiciangh Seriously. I know there are no lyrics for it, but when I listen I can't help but sing, and I've come up with "Maybe one day I'll reach him and we can build his skills as I teach him. I know that one day he'll change the world because I know he will be Legendary."
Everyone seriously brought it this saga, I was openly weeping at work where I watched the Livestream 🥹
tbh I love the genuine horror Athena has on her face when she sees Odysseus consign the crew to death. Like she's realizing what she turned her friend into.
YOU DID IT SO EARLY OMGGGGGG 😭
Edit: also Apollo is the god of the sun, music and archery, Hephaestus is the god of forgery and fire, ares is the god of war and hera is the goddess of woman, marriage and the stars and is Zeus sister and wife,
Well, I believe during the Odyssey Apollo was not the God of the Sun, that's Helios
@@KingsBard OMG TRUE - 😭 THANKS FOR THE RECAP! ^^
"sister and wife" prime example of god incest
@@KingsBard Technically, yes, but technically no, I mean, Apollo is the god of the sun, but he didn't have the job of carrying the sun like Helios, he was more the sun in a symbolic way than physically like Helios.
him being the god of the sun was a roman addition, to the greeks he was the god of light
Ody being depressed and Athena dying on a cliffhanger! Jorge had no right doing that to us!!! 😭
WHO JUST CAME FROM THE LIVESTREAM
meeeeeeeeeeee
Me
Me!
I came from the livestream...
Meeeee
Here's a little info about the gods in "God Games":
Apollo is the god of the sun, music and poetry.
Kronos. Chronos is a different being despite similar names
You were the first person to post a reaction how does it feel
feels soooo gooodddd
Funny thing is that Hera let Oddy go since he didn’t cheat on his wife because she’s Zeus’ wife, and like half of Greek myth is caused by Zeus cheating on her and having demigod children
Little did Hera know what happened to Ody with Circe and Calypso
@@crow9582none of which was consensual on Ody’s part, Circe literally had his whole crew hostage and would’ve killed him, and Calypso literally forced him into bed
@@crow9582 That didn't happen in Epic though. That's the whole point.
I know but funny if she just didn't knew what happen
@@crow9582 Yeah.. netiher of those were consensual in cannon versions of the epic. Circe's section can change depending on the translator but MOST keep it as "I'm going slaughter your friends if you don't" which we should all be able to agree IS NOT consensual.
This has to be my favourite saga yet!!
Wonderful timing my guy! Just got finished watching Jorge’s livestream on the wisdom saga and I’m still trying to process on what the heck just happened! I’m still really excited to see what happens in the next one once it comes out!
righttttttt ill def be the first to be watching it tooo
The next saga is vengeance
A tier list before the musical is even over is wild but go ahead 😭
when we got a glimpse of what’s going on in ody’s head and everything he’s hearing on a day to day basis while being held hostage by a crazy lady that’s in love with him. seeing him on that cliff had me sobbing!!!! 😢 #FreeOdy
Holy crap dude. Theres not another reaction channel that puts a smile on my face like yours. Seriously! Your reactions are perfect! I love how you get super psyched and then an intense moment happens and youre like "oooh" 😧
😅i just get really hyped when something crazy happens then randomly it gets sad so i gotta sit my butt down lolllll
Great Reaction Bro! Very authentic and I can feel the hype from start to finish! You are what makes this Epic Community hella fun!
You know I still find it odd to realize the “reason odysseus started to hear the voices” was because Calypso had said and I quote “stay in my open arms” which were the last things politics had said in the underworld, but that was also what he was thinking when he died
I got to say I love the little comments you do when the songs are actually playing, you're like asking your questions while the song is playing and just like giving you two cents into them they're so awesome and definitely a hype Man Too🥰
awwwwww that means so much to mee☺
Eileithyia was the goddess of child birth. Hera was also goddess of royaly if I remember correctly.

Athena is still alive because gods can’t dye
I was thinking that, the fact that just one song before we had the line “Goddesses can’t die!” from Calypso seems to clear it up. That’s seems too obvious of a line in hindsight, tho it is Zeus
i really hope she didnt dir though
I hope she's not dead, 'cause maybe a mortal can't kill a god but a god can kill another
They believe gods can't die but if there was a way it'd be zues who found it
@@venrisulven she is alive bc in myths she is helping Odysseus at the end of his journey i won't say with what bc of spoilers
It baffles me how far the Epic reaches to the point where not only mythology nerds listen to it. And I thnk it's beautiful.
Gods can't die. However Zeus can and has strippen a god of their immortality atleast twice. Once when apollo staged a coup and once when apollo mad at zeus for killing his son killed the cyclops the forged zeus thunderbolt because he obviously couldn't fight zeus
Pan died. Even though is was a translation error, it is still true in most interpretations of mythology now.
@@tektyrant thanks
So, zeus is the god of the sky, thunder/lightning, law and order, but the crazy part of all of this is that he does all of this to her DESPITE her being his FAVORITE daughter. (Story goes that she sprung from his head fully grown in a suit of armor. Also- goddess of wisdom).

Calypso is a Titan punished with solitary confinement on an island, Greek hero’s will arrive but always leave, tempting her but ultimately cursing her
Just so you know who everyone is the god of:
Calypso- renowed beauty nymph
Apollo- sun and music
Hephaestus- of fire, volcanoes, forges, and blacksmithing (canonically has a leg injury which at the time was an allegory for 🍆 injury also married to Aphrodite)
Aphrodite- sexual love and beauty
Ares- war (banging Aphrodite despite her being married to Hephaestus he doesn't know)
Athena- war battle tactics often gets into conflict with Ares (battle tactics vs thirst for murder bloodlust)
Hera- Marriage, women, childbirth (thats why she is impressed by Ody not cheating)
Zeus- sky (leader father of basically everyone here except calypso lots of thunder and lightning imagery)
18:38 Yes Zeus is the Strongest god period. He is the King of the gods and god of the sky and heavens as well as Justice (he constantly abuses his position, because that is what kings were expected to do).
The other gods in this video are:
-Apollo: god of Light, healing/sickness, archery, music/the arts, and prophecy. He is a child of Zeus
-Hephestus: god of the Forge/crafts, Fire, Cripples/rejects, Volcanoes.
Extra info on other gods in Epic:
-Aeolus is a minor god that Zeus basically delegates control of the winds and weather to under him.
Might as well recite all of greek mythology while your at it
@tektyrant It's the most informative comment I've read so far, and it's pretty concise for all the information pack in there.
@@biancaalves2787 oh totally lmao the greek gods were WILD lmao. sometimes when i have an espescially bad headache i say i feel like im about to give birth to athena, which has caused some... odd looks from others XD
Since you said you didn't know the gods mentioned:
Apolo is the god of sun (He was mad about the kill of the sirens because he likes music. Fun fact, his harp was given by baby Hermes when he stole Apolo's sheep)
Hephaestus is god of blacksmiths (Unsure about his inclusion here, but he was voiced by Jorge's dad and that's cute)
Ares is the god of war (He was upset because Ody didn't kill more, which why he was convinced about 'he'll make everybody bleed')
Aphrodite is the goddess of love (Who was upset because he 'let his mother die of a broken heart')
Hera is Zeus' wife (Dunno what she could be mad about but she was glad about the no cheating since Zeus has cheated on her with everyone and everything) ✨
Zeus is the god of gods who rules the sky (His brothers: Poseidon rules the sea, and Hades the underworld)
Also, Athena is Zeus' daughter, but she has no mother since Zeus was the one who 'birthed' her from his forehead...? Greek mythology is as wild as it can be.
Apolo is god of music, poetry, and prophecy. He only becomes god of the sun by the time of the romans who merged him with helios.
hera is also zeus' sister. ah, greek mythology, where mount olympus is located in alabama
Seeing you have the same reaction I did when the stream went down made me laugh so hard
Athena going full Arkham Batman on Ares is one of my favorite moments in the whole musical now
Fight little wolf was the song I was anticipating the most
Since you didn’t recognize a few of the gods, heres a brief explanation of them and every god we've seen in epic!
Brother of Zeus and father of the Cyclops(several actually)
Aeolus: Minor wind god!
If I missed any gods, please let me know
You are fast my man 😊
Hay so, I saw that you didn't really know who the gifs where I thought I’d fill you in lol
Zeus is the king of the gods, he's the god of the sky,
Athena, goddess of wisdom
Apollo, god of the sun, music, sickness and healing.
Aphrodite is the goddess of love, platonic and romantic.
Hephaestus is the god of fire and blacksmiths
Ares is straight up the god of war.
And Hera is the queen of the gods, Zeuses wife, the goddess of marriage, family and women.
Your reactions go crazy. Subbed.
7:36 this always gets me emotional for a reason😢😂
that was quick, haha
😅
Him: Doesn't know the other gods.
*Aphrodite is introduced*
Him: I know her.
Every one in the stream has the same reaction when it cut out 😂😂
WE HAVE THE SAME REACTIONS OMG BEST REACTOR 😂😂
Zeus is like the King and he is also Athena’s father. She is his favourite. Apollo and the rest are just Gods, they were part of the game. Also, Calypso sings „Last I checked, goddesses can’t die” and Athena is an heir to the throne after Zeus - let’s just pray Athena is badly hurt but alive 😭
Apollo is the sun god and one of the archery gods, hephestus is the blacksmith god, ares is the god of rage and war, and hera is the wife of zeus, known as the goddess of fertility and marrage
So Calypso isn't a goddess *of* anything specific, no particular domain or remit, but she's still immortal.
Mortal combat vibes on some real shit the mortal combat you would play on Nintendo 64🔥🔥🔥🔥
Apollo - god of music, archery, healing, symbol of the Sun which he pulls across the sky in his chariot
Hephaestus - god of the forge, blacksmith, fires, and volcanos
Ares - god of war/the spirit of battle, courage, etc.
Hera - goddess of marriage, family, childbirth, and queen of the gods (sister-wife of Zeus)
That ending in little wolf was EVO moment 37
ps: athena didnt die, she blacked out
For context on the gods you don't rlly know of
Apollo: God of Poetry, Music, Sun, and Light (The sun god whose cows they killed is Helios, a much more powerful Sun God)
Hephaestus: God of Volcanoes, Forges, and Blacksmithing
Ares: God of War (he more represents the brutality of war, while Athena, his sister, represents the more strategic side of it. It's why he sees Odysseus' plan of the Trojan horse as cowardly)
Hera: Goddess of Marriage, Motherhood, and Childbirth (She is also Zeus' WIFE, who he cheats on regularly. Hence why Athena saying Odysseus is loyal makes her immediately wanna let him go)
Apollo is only a sun good in roman myth! They merged him with helios under the apollo moniker but that is way later
Love in paradise is maybe my favorite song ever
It's always something for Odysseus, if it's not a god it's a monster, if it's not a monster it's a woman.
Let’s give a little mythology class for this man.
Zeus- God King, God of the Sky/Storm
Hera- Queen of the Gods
Ares- God of War (Chaotic War to be specific)
Athena- Goddess of War/Wisdom (she fights war for peace and honor)
Hephaestus- God of the Forge/Blacksmiths
Apollo- God of Music and The Sun
Aphrodite- Well you know…
And yes Zeus is by far the most powerful Greek god although there are a few gods who could rival his power he is the top when it comes to hierarchy.
I don’t think Jorge likes people using the stream visuals Mortious got permission to show them for the thunder saga
21:45 idk if she was worshipped much in Ancient Greece, with her island of Ogygia and her part in Ody's story being her main shticks. Her father is the titan Atlas, forced to hold up the sky(who is Atlas's grandfather, don't ask).
