    Those slipper booties are just too irresistible for mere words. It resembles the kind of shoes the Seven Dwarves would have worn🥺. I could just picture Dopey wearing them. Dopey is my favorite Dwarf😊.

    These slippers remind me of the slippers my aunt made for all the women in the family when I was in 7th or 8th grade. I remember her measuring and tracing everyone's feet on to paper. She made them out of pink rug yarn so they were rough, but durable. And if you wore socks under them you couldn't tell how scratchy they were. I grew up with cold, drafty hardwood floors. Boy, did those slippers keep our feet warm! I have such fond memories of all the crochet items my aunt made me. I think it is time to try making a pair of slippers myself and I will think of my aunt with every stitch.

    Great tutorial Jayda! For anyone curious, I am a women’s 11 with a narrow foot and heel. I used a regular 4 weight yarn (lion brand pound of love), and both slippers completed weight 65g. I did the 6 rows of increase, then added a 7th row with only two increases for a total of 32 stitches. I then did ANOTHER 21 rows for a total of 28, and did the heel with 16 stitches across. I did 5 rows at the top, with 6 decreases in the last row. I also used a 5mm hook, but my tension is kinda loose. They come right up to my ankle bone. I will definitely be doing this again!

    I just want to say thank you for this tutorial. I have MS and take medication that causes my feet to get cold. I'm going on vacation and can't take my electric blanket and I have been stressing about it. I decided to try and make something warm for my feet but the tutorials were complicated. (I also have numbness in my hands from the MS so my ability is limited) I was so happy to find such a nice yet very easy to do tutorial! I've completed my first one and will start the next one. I used a really thick plush baby blanket yarn since I only plan on wearing them to bed and I wanted them to be soft and warm. The first one looks beautiful. I also like how it can be so easily customized. I have wide flat feet as well as large calves. Long socks don't fit me. Thank you very much for this. It will be a life saver!

    Potatoes, Patatoes, I was crocheting while waiting for a doctors appointment, and this lady was watching me and told me I was holding my needle wrong. I taught myself how to crochet, so I didn't know there was a right or wrong way just so you got the job done. I loved your tutorial because I didn't have to translate from the needle being held the "other way"!

      @JaydaInStitches  6 лет назад

    Jo from Tasmania. I love these "socks". I used 2 strands of 8 ply acrylic wool, they keep my feet cosy in my gumboots! Thanks Jayda! 👍

    I am so glad to see you made the slipper socks!! I plan to make them asap! been knitting!
    but am ready to crochet again! I decided to wait to make the chevron blanket until winter. I want to make them with just regular yarn so I can wear them as socks more than slippers!

      Martha Nelson Hi Martha! What have you been knitting? I haven't picked up my needles in an age...I can hear them rattling around indignantly in their container (I think they're jealous of my hooks!). Blankets are great cool weather projects, I love making them, but this time of year it can be SO HOT with a giant blanket growing on your lap LOL.

    Great turning of the heel! I'm a knitter that's re-learning crochet (crochet newbie here :)) and have never crocheted socks, which are my very favourite things to knit. I did a slightly different toe (oval-ish) because I'm working with sport yarn and the circular toe looked odd but I'm definitely going to try this with thicker yarn for Christmas slippers. Excellent tutorial and many thanks for your entire channel!
