It shows these scammers (at least) pay attention to the social web and keep track of who "knows" about them and is aware of what they do -- hence sending the good one to you, but sending the typical junk to the other account who, as far as they knew, was just another mark. My MacBook pro is a 13 inch mid-2010 with the faster 2.66ghz cpu. It was upgraded with 8gb of ram and a 128gb SSD and it’s in pretty nice shape. It has also been upgraded to MacOS Mojave using Dosdude1’s patcher. I recently ordered a 500gb SSD to put into it as I want to put windows on it as well.

Yeah I was scammed by one of these eBay sellers. I wanted a cheap MacBook to use for classes and watch movies on. So I found a 2015 MacBook Pro saying it was upgraded, yada yada, I even got the same navy case, it looked nice and flawless too. But, I had to sell it on offerup bc it wouldn’t even read my iPhone X or wouldn’t update to a newer version of software. 😭 But, 1 year later and I recently bought a 2020 MacBook air for about the same as what I paid for that old macbook 😙 I think because I bought off an actual persons eBay account they were more honest in messaging. I had to research before buying, compare them to other listings, look at current Mac’s & older models to see what would work best, asked questions from the sellers, looked at ratings, what they are selling, where they were located, looked/zoomed at the pics, viewed the description etc. 🥴 definitely take your time and research before you buy!
Exactly the outcome I expected, these sellers are so shady with how they list these computers, being so vague. I can't think of anything else sold on Ebay that could get away with not listing the specs or actual pictures, and saying it has XXXX year OS to determine what year the system is.
Please report the seller to eBay if you have not done so yet. It is the only way they can know about these types of issues. You can open an Item Not As Described based on the pictures and maybe the description as well.

Hi Luke, I follow you here in the UK and really enjoy your output, so thanks for your efforts, we have the same issues here in the UK, there are less Mac users here, so it’s even easier to over pay, units here can be 25/40% more expensive, so we could easily get caught paying £700 + for a core 2 duo....A really useful video for you to make by the way would be one around operating systems and which units no longer support basic functions like safari, I have an old white MacBook from 2008 that is essentially end of life as it does not even support safari so an insight into that would be really helpful, anyway thanks for your excellent channel and keep up the good work.
