This was so helpful Erin! I have to say, after watching you for awhile, you are stunning and so ladylike and elegant. Many people can look great in photos but when they speak, all allure is lost. Also, as a pale girl, I appreciate how you have a fresh look to your makeup and don't cover yourself in bronzer. Being over 50, I feel the paler look is actually more youthful and glowy! 😘
What a sweet note, Adele! Thanks for adding a little sunshine to my day. Pale is pretty for sure! And, I REALLY don't like overdone makeup. I think you are right, especially as we age, we have to keep it more natural to look more youthful. I DO love a glow, though! ;) xo

TERRIFIC video Erin! I do the same thing with turning a certain way in my videos and pics b/c of a nose bump, because it's a bit crooked b/c of my deviated septum! RE: angling up and down and face shots...if you have a high forehead (like I do), taking the photo from a slight downward angle or straight ahead can minimize that...and angled about 3/4 in front of the camera instead of straight in front. I have to mess with my side angles a little bit more when I'm shooting from an upward angle b/c of this darned forehead! I also want to say that I LOVE your editing. It's always so on point. ❤👍
You crack me up! You are GORGEOUS and do not need to shoot in any special way to look good. Thank you for sharing your angling tip, though. I think eye level is always great too!! And, slightly down is very flattering for a head or portrait style shot. For full body, I prefer angled up. Thank you so much for the kind words about editing. I really love it! Erin xo

As an over 40 (ok, over 50 too) woman, I am extremely careful to avoid a camera angle shot from below at my face because it will create chins you didn't even know you had! Level or above is my friend - below is the DEVIL :)

Mili, I agree! I kept looking at the title trying to figure out which was which. She is such a beauty she can't help look perfect in any pose. But I did get the jest of her suggestions. Great tips!
Lots of good tips. As far as trial selfies, it is a good idea to do a whole series of selfies where you imagine your face like a clock and rotate and shoot your face in every "hour" position and do front-center too to see if dead center is a good position.
Great video Erin, very helpful. I look terrible in photos and often feel uncomfortable and end up looking like Chandler when I try to smile... I think I try too much and need to relax 😉😘

Really enjoyed this master "class" Erin. You have completely nailed the pose and picture aspect complimenting your work and mission. Apparently years of experience is the key! Well done!~ Just a day or so ago, the arrival photos of the Emmy's, showed women choosing to pose with that one foot over and in front of the other...you know that twister move crossed at the ankles? Kidman did it with a tea length dress, that just left the viewer thinking she put her LEGS on in the wrong order. So awkward looking. We all need to hone that technique apply rules and enforce them. PS. Your skin looks simply radiant! You are kicking the butt of that dry climate! You got winter in the bag! : )

I really loved and needed this video, Erin, thank you! I've had a really nagging question for a long time that maybe you can answer. I have seen a lot of fashion poses on Instagram where the model stands slightly pigeon-toed, seemingly on purpose. Do you have any idea why? Thanks again!

Karen Ernst Karen I also just take awful pics. Try to take lots, then there's bound to be a few good ones. Be completely relaxed and try different lighting. My husband sometimes says I look so beautiful, he just has to take a pic of me, then after a few he says, Ok, don't worry! My kids also joke about it. But we can keep trying! :)

R u in Colorado!? I went to 5th grade through high school there! I lived in the Cherry Creek district Aurora, CO! UL definitely experience all 4 seasons! My dad had a condo in Vail if you ski! Thank you for I get nervous when someone takes a pic and not relaxed body positioning i can do my face from friend who watched a show where they took pics of models. Angle.. lower its trying to get person taking pic I dont have trouble with chin. She does not get this. Thank you for the natural light look. Its my phone that takes horrible pics. My tip for everyone is take as many photos as possible lets say 30 or 40 photos to have plenty to choose ONLY THE ONE THAT IS THE BEST !! my best trick !! KiSses

I sure don't. I think there are hundreds of shades of each color and it's impossible to say to someone, you can't wear red. Really? I can't wear any of the 285 shades of red??? Just wear colors that brighten your face and spirits and you get the most complements in... Erin xo
