  • Bag making is a complex process. From creative sketches and precise technical drawings, to prototypes and catwalk shows, every stage requires careful thought.
Historically and globally, bags have been constructed and embellished in an enormous variety of ways. Originally hand-stitched at home or crafted in small workshops, today’s mass-produced bags are assembled in factories. Each procedure requires special skills, from pattern-making, cutting and dyeing, to sewing, polishing and finishing.
Take a look behind-the-scenes at Mulberry with Development Team Leader, Alice Gouldbourne to discover more about the precision and technical skill required to produce each one of their iconic bags.

I have to say that I love Mulberry because they offer bags that has matching color glazes. While over priced designer handbags like LV and Gucci for some reason have glazes that are black against colored handbags which makes them look cheap. I really do love Mulberry....really understated and all about legacy and not celebrity.

Solf & yummy material. I've always wondered what type of material they used, blended or hide leather?

Hey there, I've worked in sewn products manufacturing on and off over the years. May I ask the company that makes the auto-nesting software and CAM cutting hardware at the leather cutting stage?

"Today, only about 30% of Mulberry bags are actually produced in England so it is common to see a “made in China” or “made in Turkey” tag inside a newer Mulberry bag."
