Yeah y'all did jack'em up good. Ruben was sending that top water far you had to zoom in on it. The Kings are still hanging around good to see that. Bad to the bone video Matt. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
@@cagonzal13 we like using 80lb mono and on the rods/reels we have been using for throwing big lures we are using roughly 10 feet of 100lb mono attached via an fg knot to the braid mainline. On the Rapala I was throwing I had a 2 foot section of wire and of course I got cutoff on the 100lb mono. 🤣
We have both caught them on 20lb and 30lb braid, the thing is on the smaller reels you might be cutting it close when it comes to line capacity. Yes we usually use wire leaders on the expensive lures.
So far it has been good, it throws the plugs a fair distance. I haven't compared it to other rods of similar price points though so hard to say if it's as good as others or better.
Dang that's what I want. I just started the heavy rod jetti/surf fishing. I got some questions for yall. How far out are you casting? When are the Kings and Jacks out there? I'm off the next couple days winds are going to be low in the mornings yall think its Jack em up time?
Throwing the 4oz Popper and 3oz spoon we're probably casting ~100 yards at times. The Kings and Jacks might still be around and in my opinion it wouldn't hurt to try for them if the conditions are looking good. Good luck!
Going out there this weekend, just recently started fishing again, How did you cast so far? Lmao I might sound dumb but I’m learning this fishing stuff on my own haven’t fish since my pops passed

@@leroygutierrez3948 sorry to hear that but it was probably blocked off because of the high tide from the hurricane that was in the gulf. I'm not sure if there is any access points further down the jetty to allow a wheelchair to get on since the rocks are a lot higher than the beach.
@@hectorcoria3650 We have roughly 10 feet of 100lb mono for landing and abrasion resistance and sometimes we add about 2 feet of wire to the lures with a haywire twist and swivel. @2:15 and @6:15 you can see the wire attached to the popper. I have never used titanium leader but I heard it kinks less than single strand wire. Just keep in mind even if you have 2 or 3 feet of wire like us you can still get cutoff on the 10 feet of mono OR your actual line.
No disrespect bro but kingfish smoked then made into a kingfish dip is pretty good utube some vids on how to make or if you have them on video don't worry about getting the pics you shorting time out of the water so maybe they can make it there not like a red or jack they have to constantly be moving to get water passing through there gills tight lines love your videos bro
Kingfish and Spanish Mackerel just don't hold up well and sometimes pulling the picture from the GoPro doesn't come out as good. We have had Kingfish dip and it was good but we prefer to eat Redfish, Flounder and Trout without all the mercury. The Kings in this video didn't go to waste though. Thanks for watching and commenting, glad you enjoy the videos and tight lines.
Not exactly sure if they have a hear attack but they definitely use all their energy up in the fight. If their gill gets nicked it's instant game over too. Thanks for watching, Jimmy!

Thanks, Rene, we appreciate it! We had an awesome day! It's not every day that you can catch a Kingfish much less 3!
That type of fishing action is unbeatable!! MAN!! Well done lads!!
Thank you sir! We had an awesome day.
You guys killed it out there. What a great video 👏👍
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
Man dude great video! No wonder I can't catch a Kingfish, y'all are catching them all! Lol Jack 'em up!
You should see how many we didn't catch because we got cut off and cameras weren't rolling.

I use that Ocean Master Power Stick, geat rod for casting lures and fishing on the bottom.

@@MattsSaltwaterFishing I think i bought that chug popper with a teaser. I watched it twice those kings were nice ones.

now i gotta get myself one of dem poppers, what is that popper like a tsunami talkin popper?
It is the Tsunami Surface Blaster.
Does 20lbs braid could handle them? And did u have a wire leader for them?

65lb braid attached to 100lb mono with an fg knot and #8 and #9 single strand wire.
Clear the jetty’s! Mack attack boyz are hook/jackin em” up!!
We sure did jack 'em up that day! Thanks for watching, Chris, always good to see you in the comments. 💪
Great fun vid! Change out treble to single?
Thanks! The hook up ratio is bad enough with trebles on a topwater popper with singles it'll probably be even lower.
How do you like the breakaway omega for kings and Jacks?

Do you have to park away from the beach and walk your way over there ?
You can park on the beach right next to the jetties. The walk from the start of the water to the end of the jetties is like 0.7 miles though.
